XIAO SHUXIANG'S

XIAO SHUXIANG'S
16 - Onion Grass [Revised]

Xiao Shuxiang thought, how could such a dried grass not be burned by the flames on the body of this little lizard at all. And what is seen is that the lizard is not an animal that likes to share its residence with other lizards.

So if these lizards meet other lizards, it is impossible that they will not fight, right?

"Could this grass be...?"

Xiao Shuxiang noticed the grass around the Fire Lizard, it was 15 cm tall and looked like ordinary grass in general. The only thing that distinguishes it is the Fire Lizard as if protecting the grass.

"Brother Jing, help me." Xiao Shuxiang grabbed the grass that was some distance away from the Fire Lizard, he tried to pluck out the grass.

Both Jing Mi, Qi Xuan, Xiao Lu, including Yang Shu were perplexed by Xiao Shuxiang's actions.

Jing Mi asked, "My brother. What are you gonna do?"

Xiao Shuxiang, "You'll know soon after helping me pull this grass,"

Jing Mi did not want to ask any more, she simply nodded then helped Xiao Shuxiang to pull the dried grass.

"I-this is what grass? So strong...!" Jing Mi mustered all her strength, but what could be said. Jing Mi's strength was weakened because the sun was so scorching that she also felt hungry and thirsty.

The Fire Lizard saw Jing Mi and Xiao Shuxiang trying to pull out one of the grasses. Immediately the Fire Lizard dashed towards Jing Mi while letting out flames in her mouth as well as her body.

"Revelation Brother Jing!" qi Xuan exclaimed as he watched the lizard almost burn his friend's clothes.

Hearing Qi Xuan's exclamation, Jing Mi reflexively got up and jumped far away to avoid the flames being spouted by the Lizard.

The fire burned the dry grass, but quickly the fire was extinguished. This made Xiao Shuxiang even more curious about this dried grass.

The Fire Lizard then moved towards Xiao Shuxiang as the boy simply stayed in place and did not dodge his attack like Jing Mi did.

The lizard again spouted fire in its mouth, he pointed it at Xiao Shuxiang's hand. Surprisingly Xiao Shuxiang did an act that left the eyes and mouth of Yang Shu, Xiao Lu, Jing Mi and Qi Xuan wide open.

Ciiitp

Xiao Shuxiang stepped on the Fire Lizard with his left foot to make the Lizard scream. The next instant, when Xiao Shuxiang lifted his left leg-Si Fire Lizard was already seen which curled stiffly.

"Shameful! Xiao Shuxiang's first killing period, this Destroying Star was a Lizard?! Especially a little lizard like this... Hiya...! How embarrassing..." Xiao Shuxiang again pulled out the grass in his hands without caring for the expressions of Yang Shu and his three fellow classmates.

"Sa-Brother Xiao? W-what did you do earlier...?" Jing Mi did not believe Xiao Shuxiang's actions just now. He even rubbed his eyes repeatedly.

Yang Shu, "Xiao'Er...?"

Not only Jing Mi, but Yang Shu also did not believe her grandson was so easy to kill the Fire Lizard without the slightest hesitation. Even after he gave a pitiful explanation regarding the Fire Lizard's age range.

"What's wrong with you guys? Don't shut up, let's help me..." Xiao Shuxiang did not notice any more clearly the look on Yang Shu and Jing Mi's face which looked at him with a look of disbelief.

In contrast to Jing Mi and Yang Shu, Xiao Lu after being so shocked to see the actions of his sister who stepped on the Fire Lizard. The look on his face changed even drop by drop of water began to form in his eye fertilizers.

"Xiao'Er...? What... are you doing...? W-why did you step on this little lizard...? hyx..." Xiao Lu let out a small sob as he looked at the Fire Lizard that had already stiffened.

Xiao Shuxiang did not say anything to Xiao Lu, he just focused on plucking out such a powerful grass.

"What is this grass? The roots are so strong!" Xiao Shuxiang drew his sword, he then used his sword to dig the ground around the grass he was about to pull out.

"Xiao'Er, you really could have killed this lizard. Too bad..." Xiao Lu began to draw his sword and then dug the ground to bury the Fire Lizard.

Qi Xuan gently rubbed Xiao Lu's back, he tried to calm him down. Even he himself had not expected Xiao Shuxiang's actions earlier either.

"For what pity? The lizard burned Brother Jing's shoes and injured his hands. So the lizard deserved it, indeed,"

Yang Shu, Jing Mi, Qi Xuan and Xiao Lu again gasped after hearing Xiao Shuxiang's remark. Jing Mi even opened her mouth wide upon hearing that her Brother Xiao had apparently killed the Lizard for her sake.

"My brother, did you do it for me?" Jing Mi walked up to Xiao Shuxiang while looking at him in disbelief.

"But you shouldn't have killed this little lizard...! Don't you have any mercy at all...?!" Xiao Lu was annoyed at Xiao Shuxiang's remark.

Xiao Shuxiang turned his head towards Xiao Lu, this chatty and noisy girl looked at him in annoyance while pouting. The next second he turned his attention away from Xiao Lu, he returned to his activities of digging the ground so that the grass could be lifted easily.

Xiao Shuxiang snorted and then returned to speaking. However, his words this time made Xiao Lu have trouble speaking.

"Did that lizard also have some pity on Brother Jing...? Could Brother Jing have burned to death because of the lizard and you have asked me to pity him instead?! Huh, don't joke...!"

Jing Mi stared in admiration at Xiao Shuxiang. Though they were friends for not even ten days and Xiao Shuxiang protected him until like this. "My brother!"

In contrast to Jing Mi who was impressed with admiration, Xiao Lu looked even more sullen. Indeed, Xiao Shuxiang's remark also had a point, but did the Lizard have to be killed? The lizard was not just a small animal and he definitely had a reason to attack Jing Mi.

"I-it's... This little lizard was only protecting his house, because that's why it hurt Jing Mi..." Xiao Lu tried to find an excuse as a form of defense, but Xiao Shuxiang's subsequent remark left Xiao Lu speechless.

"Oh, then I also did it to protect Brother Jing,"

Jing Mi was moved, she immediately hugged Xiao Shuxiang, "Brother Xiao?! You are my best friend!!"

Xiao Shuxiang was obviously shocked, he was currently busy pulling out the grass and now Jing Mi was instead hugging him. "I-iya, but don't hug. You just help me..."

Jing Mi nodded excitedly. And I don't know what the wind is, he's so powerful. Jing Mi quickly dug the ground around the grass. Xiao Shuxiang simply shook his head at Jing Mi's mannerisms and then continued her work.

Xiao Lu walked up to Yang Shu, he still looked pouted.

"Grandfather.." heeled.

Yang Shu knew what his granddaughter was feeling. You could say Xiao Lu seemed to ask for his help to reprimand Xiao Shuxiang for having dared to step on a small animal without any pity at all.

"Grandfather, what that little animal did... Xiao Shuxiang shouldn't have stepped on him to death."

Qi Xuan saw Yang Shu and Xiao Lu walking away and sitting under a tree while visibly speaking. He did not want to interrupt the conversation of his elder and Xiao Lu. He continued to bury the Fire Lizard. After he finished, Qi Xuan walked over to Jing Mi and Xiao Shuxiang.

Yang Shu and Xiao Lu who were sitting under the tree stared at his fellow classmates, including his sister. He could see how hard Jing Mi was trying to dig the ground to be able to pull the grass that Xiao Shuxiang was currently holding.

Just like Xiao Lu, Yang Shu also paid attention to his students and Xiao Shuxiang. Then he started talking.

"According to Grandfather, what Xiao'Er did was right. She's..." Yang Shu exhaled softly, "Lu'Er... You listen to this. The world you are coming to is a world full of danger. You will definitely meet small or large animals, weak or ferocious. It is not uncommon for you to be able to find cultivators fighting or even get involved in that fight."

"Lu'Er, you need to know... Having a soft and kind heart like you is important. But you also need to know who deserves to be pitied and not. Not that Grandpa would prefer Xiao'Er, but rather than you... He's better prepared to walk in the world of warriors."

Yang Shu gently rubbed Xiao'Lu's shoulder. He was actually heavy to say this sort of thing to his granddaughter, but Xiao Lu should be able to better understand the laws in their world. The strong are at the top, powerful and respected. The weak will always be oppressed.

Yang Shu, "There's no harm in having a soft heart, it's really very important. But it takes strong self-control to be able to distinguish when it's time to be soft or not..."

"Grandfather... W-what does that mean..- I-I have to go home?" Xiao Lu was actually somewhat frightened by Yang Shu's explanation.

He said, "Grandfather always told me that this world is a place full of bloodshed. But I've never seen what the world looks like with my own eyes. When he saw Xiao'Er kill the lizard with ease... I don't know why my heart hurts..."

Xiao breathed slowly and continued, "I knew the lizard could be dangerous, but after hearing grandfather's story saying that the lizard's age was short... I feel sorry for him. My heart may be too weak. So then... Do I have to... Pu-home?"

Yang Shu rubbed Xiao Lu's head slowly, he then smiled gently as he answered a question from his grandson. "No need, Grandpa was sure during the journey you would understand and slowly be able to control your heart more,"

Xiao Lu nodded, he then tightly hugged Yang Shu. While being engrossed in hugging her grandfather, Jing Mi suddenly shouted. It made Yang Shu and Xiao Lu flinch and immediately turned to him.

"Successful...!!" Jing Mi yelled as she managed to pluck out the hard-earned grass along with Xiao Shuxiang and Qi Xuan.

At first glance this grass is similar to ordinary grass in general, but the grass has roots shaped tubers, very similar to onions.

"It... What grass?" Jing Mi only realized that she had never seen grass with a model like this before.

"I also don't know, it's the first time I've seen such grass." Qi Xuan gave his opinion.

Jing Mi, "My brother. We've got this onion grass... Next what?"

Xiao Shuxiang who had since noticed the shape of the plant grasped by Jing Mi suddenly frowned. It was also the first time for him to see such grass.

Xiao Shuxiang picked up the grass in Jing Mi's hand as she asked, "Why are you calling this Onion Grass?"

"Because the root is like an onion, it looks like an onion! Is this really an onion...?" Jing Mi pricked the roots on the grass that was in Xiao Shuxiang's hand with her index finger. The roots are hard and soft simultaneously.

Xiao Shuxiang, "This is not Onion Grass, but Water Grass."

"Water?!"

Xiao Shuxiang's reply made Jing Mi and Qi Xuan shocked. They had indeed long wanted water, but how was that possible?!

Qi Xuan, "Brother Xiao. You don't joke. Are you going to say that this blob like an onion on the grass roots is water?"

"You don't believe it? All right, I'll show you."

Xiao Shuxiang rubbed the onion-shaped grass root, trying to get rid of the clay.

After that Xiao Shuxiang hollowed out a little root from the grass and then drank it by pouring it a little high above his mouth, this was so that Jing Mi and Qi Xuan could see the water coming out of the hole that Xiao Shuxiang had made at the grass root.

Jing Mi and Qi Xuan gasped in shock, their eyes and mouth wide open. That's Really Water! The water they've been craving all this time!

"YES!! It's fresh...!!" Xiao Shuxiang smiled with satisfaction after being able to drink the water he had difficulty digging, huh.

"Brother Xiao?! Is there no more?!" Jing Mi requested that Xiao Shuxiang give her a drink also from the grass roots. Yet Xiao Shuxiang looked at him with a plain face of hers.

"If you want, you dig it yourself. This is mine." Xiao Shuxiang immediately stood up and ran away leaving Jing Mi and Qi Xuan who were about to hang up from hearing his words.

"Brother Xiao?! You're Tega Sepi!! We Also Help You Dig That Grass!!" Jing Mi chased after Xiao Shuxiang, she could not accept that Xiao Shuxiang did not share the results of her labor of digging and plucking the grass.

Although Qi Xuan was disappointed that Xiao Shuxiang had not given him water, yet on one hand he also felt relieved. Now he knew that there was grass that could quench his thirst and the thirst of his elders.

Qi Xuan walked up to Yang Shu and Xiao Lu, he told him everything.

Together with Yang Shu and Xiao Lu, Qi Xuan started digging to uproot the other grass.

The tired Jing Mi chasing after Xiao Shuxiang finally gave up, she was already not strong enough to chase after the mischievous seven-year-old boy who looked so much like Hou Yong, maybe even worse.

"You want Brother Jing...?" Xiao Shuxiang walked up to Jing Mi while smiling mischievously at her.

"My brother...? You don't mess around, I'm very very and very thirsty..."

"All right, take it."

Xiao Shuxiang finally gave the grass with the onion-like roots to Jing Mi. Jing Mi was instantly overjoyed, she thanked Xiao Shuxiang while praising him as Best Friend.

As he drank the root of the onion, he suddenly fell silent. Jing Mi bowed lethargicly with a dark face, while Xiao Shuxiang tried to hold back her laughter.

"Sa-Brother Xiao... YOU'RE PRANKING ME!! THIS IS NO MORE WATER!!" Jing Mi shouted, along with Xiao Shuxiang's broken laughter.

Jing Mi's shout made Yang Shu, Xiao Lu, and Qi Xuan who were seriously digging at the grass roots suddenly gasp in shock.

"BROTHER XIAO!! GIVE ME BACK MY PREVIOUS COMPLIMENTS!!" Jing Mi shouted as she chased after Xiao Shuxiang. He did not even notice there were some Fire Lizards being stepped on by him.

However Xiao Shuxiang knew that, he had indeed deliberately lured Jing Mi towards the Lizard chick who was only four days old. Because in this way... Yang Shu, Xiao Lu, and Qi Xuan could uproot more Onion Grass for them without having to be bothered by this little Lizard. Truly a cunning stratagem of a figure who has a face as innocent as a child.
