Naina knocked slowly on the door in front of her then opened it slowly and walked into the room.
"Son." A middle-aged woman lying on top of the bed smiled to see Naina walking over to him.
"How's mom doing now?" naina asked while holding Farida's mother's hand.
Farida smile.
"Mom is better now, you don't worry too much about me son" Farida replied slowly.
"It's not just me, but everyone's worried about mom" Naina said sadly.
Farida tried to smile.
"Tell them that you're okay, you just need enough rest, and then you'll be back to your normal health," said Farida while stroking slowly the hand of Naina who was in his grasp.
"Yes, I hope you'll be back to health soon because we all need you." Naina shifted her body, approached Farida then hugged her tightly.
Naina cried sobbing in Farida's arms.
"Mom should be healthy again because we have to fight to maintain this orphanage, I can't afford to fight alone." Naina's getting sobbing.
Farida also shed her tears while patting Naina's back slowly.
"I'm sorry mom, I shouldn't be like this." Naina let go of her embrace, quickly trying to wipe away the tears on her cheek.
"I shouldn't have put more weight on Mom's mind." Naina looked very sorry.
"It's okay. I see, you're so tired of dealing with this problem yourself."
"No Ma'am. I'm not tired, I'm going to keep fighting to keep this orphanage, because the fate of dozens of orphanage children is at stake, I don't want them to live displaced if this orphanage is closed later."
"But how to son. The landowner wants us to vacate this place immediately."
"There are still many other ways, ma'am. I just want you to support whatever way I'm going to do it later."
Farida frowned.
"What are you going to do, son.?"
"Whatever mother. Whatever I'm going to do as long as this home doesn't close" Naina replied firmly.
Farida was speechless, she was slightly moved by Naina's strong determination to save the parlour from the eviction plans that the new landowner would carry out where the parlour stood.
Farida was bowed down with regret, everything that happened now was due to her mistakes in the past.
Farida should have predicted it long ago, where if her ex-husband died then all the wealth including the vast land where she set up this home would be the snatch of all her children.
When about a month ago she had a guest, Farida was surprised to see her guest was a woman from her past, a woman who destroyed her happiness and her home. Carin.
"What business did you come here for?" ask Farida with a ketus.
The woman smiled sinisterly, she walked arrogantly closer to Farida.
"Why am I being greeted so unfriendly, are you still angry at what I did to you first?" asked Karin with a soft-sounding tone.
Farida smile.
"Don't make fun of it, tell me what brought you here."
Karin smiled back.
"I just wanted to let you know that my husband, your ex-husband, is dead."
Farida seemed shocked, but she tried to control herself so that Karin thought she didn't care anymore.
"Then?" ask Farida as if she doesn't care.
Karin laughed a little.
"Yes then you must leave this place."
"What right do you have to expel me from my own home?"
"Your house? This is your home, but the land is my son's right." Karin took something from her bag.
"What do you mean?"
"This land certificate was in my husband's name, but since he's dead, then I changed it to my first son's name." Karin showed Farida the certificate.
Farida looked to see and and read it seriously.
"What are you doing? Sutowo has given me this land, I just haven't had time to take the certificate."
Karin laughed again.
"That's your fault, why when he gave it to you you didn't immediately take the certificate and replace it with your name." Karin again said with a little scorn.
"That means you're so stupid, considering what happened to us in the past you should have known that if I was going to do this, I would still ruin your life." This time Karin said sarcastically.
"This time you not only ruined my life, if you still intend to take this land then not only my life is ruined but also eighties of orphanage children who will live abandoned."
"I don't care." replied Karin lightly.
"Don't do that, think about the fate of those kids." Farida opened the window curtain beside her, showing Karin dozens of children playing in the courtyard.
Karin laughs.
"I told you I don't care. Oh yes, there is one more thing, I just found out if my late husband turned out to be a permanent donor of this home for decades, every month he always routinely sends quite a lot of money to you, I think the money my husband sent was enough to buy new land and set up a smaller home because I saw the residents were also few. So hurry up out of this land because my son intends to build a resort in this beautiful place."
"The money that Mas Sutowo sends is always used up for the living expenses of the children's homes every month."
Karin laughs.
"really? Then from now on you will have to find other donors because from next month there will be no more monthly money from my husband."
"You don't do that, what's the fate of the orphanage kids if there's no monthly money?"
"Think to yourself, I won't donate my money because I'm not a philanthropist like my husband."
Farida looked very shocked, making Karin smile with satisfaction.
"Alright I give you a month to leave this place" Karin said with a smile.
"But-"
"I'll go first." Karin said goodbye, but Farida still wanted to talk to him.
Farida stared at Karin's departure with her face looking very sad, suddenly a woman appeared behind the door.
"Naulina." Farida looked surprised to see Naina looking at her with tears on her cheeks.
Farida approached Naina quickly.
"Have you heard everything?" asked Farida with fear.
Naina nodded her head.
"I heard everything Mom. I accidentally heard everything." Naina hugged Farida while crying.
Both were crying.
"Mom, what are we going to do now?" ask Naina with a whim.
"Mother must come to her son Karin, for this land is in her name. May his son not be as cruel as his mother."
"If need be mother even willing to prostrate before him so that he does not throw us out of this place," Farida continued while holding back tears.
"Let me come with Mom. I want to accompany you."
