When Love Should Choose

When Love Should Choose
Ardian Hitting Nia Around the City

Chapter 9

As Ardian walked up to pick up his motorbike in the garage, Nia fadly walked towards the iron swing and sat there. He swung the swing forward and backward while laughing giggling.

Ardian, who had finished pulling his motorcycle out of the garage, searched for the girl but could not be seen standing nearby. Astonished, he hugged his motorbike for a while, walking to find Nia around the courtyard of the house.

“O-o, apparently you're here!” he cried when he saw Nia was engrossed in swing play.

“Ardi!” call Nia. “Assyik this swing, let's you come sit here, next to me,” take him with a big laugh..

Ardian stood up while sighing deeply. It seems, this girl's childhood was quite gloomy, he thought. Just climbing the iron swing alone could already make him laugh wide.

“Emoh, ah! You are considered a gloomy childhood if you just sit while swinging. Usually sitting on that swing while reading a book or enjoying a cup of tea staring at the twilight sun,” Ardian said.

“Oh,” Nia got up from her seat and got off that iron swing.

Thought Ardian, he was going to head to the motorbike he parked not far from it, but the girl instead walked in the other direction, towards the fish pond.

“Wah, many fish here, Ardi!” yells. “Beautiful-beautiful all the fish. This goldfish, Ardi?” tanyanya.

“That's Papa's pet,” says Ardi. “I am not so hobby and rarely see the fish pond. It's gold, huh?” asked back to Ardian.

“Eh, look at that pool, big and nice. Can I just hang out here for a minute, Ardi?” tanyanya.

It seems, for days he had not swam in the river as is his habit every afternoon in the hometown. Seeing the water in the pool, his hands and feet felt called to move around in there.

“Swimming? Now?” wonder Ardian. His frown did not understand at all. “Aren't we going out for a ride on my bike now?” remember the young man while staring at Nia who seemed to have forgotten her purpose out of the door of the house.

“Ups! Yes, I forgot. Sori yes, Ardi. All my life I've seen the sights around this house. Hehe,” said he was embarrassed.

“Nothing. Anytime you can swim here, Nia. Isn't your vacation here still long and you will still be long in my house,” said Ardian.

“Iya,” Nia said nothing more. He saw the look of Ardian who seemed to be getting annoyed waiting for him earlier.

He had completely forgotten about going out with the young man on his big motorcycle. His memory seemed to disappear as soon as he saw a good view in the yard of the house.

It seemed, he was still not satisfied sitting on the swing, looking at the fish that swam there to here in the pond, he said, and I can't wait to immediately throw myself in that vast swimming pool. His eyes danced everywhere looking at the flowers blooming in the flower garden. Want him to approach the plants, pluck the flowers a sprig of two stalks, smell the fragrance, then pin it to his long hair. It will definitely be similar to the artist in the movies before, he thought amusedly.

“This, wear your helmet,” said Ardian when Nia was near his motorbike.

Nia was wearing a helmet as Ardian instructed.

As he climbed on the young man's sidecar, he noticed the car garage he had seen last night. There, there is a car with a Toyoto logo and Fortuner writing behind it. Oh, it's called the Toyota Fortuner, after all, Nia thought. He didn't see the Pajero Sport car that took him to this house last night from the train station. Must be driving Om Vishnu to Brastagi. While the one in the garage this time is Ardian's car, guess Nia.

Ardian runs his motor slowly out of the yard of the house. Wak Amat guarding the gate immediately opened the gate to be traversed by Ardian and Nia who were piggybacking on the big motorcycle.

“Still, Wak..!” Nia still had time to thank Wak Amat before the motorbike he occupied sped down the street in the elite housing complex to get to the exit gate guarded by several guards.

“Hold tight,” Ardian command.

Nia, who was just holding the back of Ardian's shirt, moved her right hand to the side of Ardian's waist, holding it slightly.

Feeling ill-fitting, Ardian grabbed Nia's two hands and wrapped them in front of her stomach until the girl's chest jolted against the boy's burly back in front of her.

Nia had not had time to say, Ardian had launched his motorbike at a fairly high speed until Nia was forced to stay still and concentrate on the handle.

“Where are we going?” on one occasion when the motor stopped at a red light, Nia asked.

“Kan told you earlier, a walk around Medan!” reply Ardian.

“Oh, we're going to mal-kah?” ask Nia perfunctorily.

“When we go to the mall. This time around the city on a motorcycle.”

Nia did not ask anymore because she felt Ardian did not like him to ask a lot or comment. I just want the girl to follow her wishes.

Whatever you want to be invited to where, the important thing is according to your wishes.

Nia looked through every road she walked with Ardian. Starting from red lights, four intersections, overpasses, markets, shops, banks, various trades on the fifth foot, schools, places of worship, supermarkets, clinics, doctor practices, hospitals, to factories.

After exiting the industrial area, the motorbike drove towards the city center which looked rather quiet on Sunday afternoon.

“Well, if earlier the factories were in the industrial area, now large malls are in the city center,” explained Ardian like a tour guide.

“Oh, yes?” Nia fixed her seat for a while, it felt quite tired to also sit on the motor around like that.

When the motorbike drove far enough to the city center, Ardian began to introduce again the famous place after place in the city of Medan to his childhood friend.

“That's JW. Marriot, Nia,” says Ardian. “Papa and Mama often go there with business relations,” point it at one tall and magnificent building.

“Iya,” nod Nia.

“That's Podomoro, will be the coolest new building in the city of Medan,” explained Ardian proud.

“Iya, last night I passed here when you were delivered by your papa,” said Nia.

“Oh, yes, we go around again, yes,” said Ardian.

Ardian continued to take Nia around in the entire city of Medan. Every corner of the city came to its ends as if the young man had not passed through.

Nia recorded places introduced by Ardian, such as Centre Point, Sun Plaza, Thamrin Plaza, Hermes, and no matter what the name. Nia can't quickly record all the place names that Ardian mentioned.

His throat was feeling dry. Ardian has not shown any signs of stopping his motorbike by the road or anywhere to buy a glass of drink for Nia who has been thirsty since.

It had been four hours they had been around the city of Medan. Nia feels very tired and can hardly be on the big bike Ardian. Because tired and thirsty without daring to tell Ardian, the girl could only immerse her head into Ardian's back. His eyes felt sleepy and it felt like he wanted to sleep for a moment.

Realizing that the girl sitting behind him was tired of leaning her head behind her back, Ardian stopped her motorcycle in a shady spot by trees in a corner of the city.

Feeling that Ardian's motorbike was now stopped, Nia pulled her head back from Ardian's back and released her circle of hands on Ardian's waist.

“You're tired, Nia?” ardian asked as he told Nia to come down from the top of the piggy bank.

Quickly, Nia jumped down and opened her helmet which was heavy weighing on her head earlier.

Not wanting to disappoint Ardian, seeing the young man so eagerly taking him for a walk until introducing all the places to him, Nia only gave a small nod.

“We buy a drink, yes?” bargained for.

The girl nodded again. “Iya,” this time he replied, quickly and expectantly.

Ardian only realized the girl was exhausted and thirsty from earlier. He directed his gaze around. Fortunately his eyes soon found a motorcycle cart selling sugar cane ice. Ardian walked to the sugar cane ice seller and ordered 2 packs of original cane ice directly squeezed from the sugar cane with a machine.

Nia noticed there was a stone seat on the sidewalk where Ardian's motorbike stopped. He sat there waiting for Ardian to buy their drinks.

Finished buying the cane ice, Ardian walked towards where Nia was sitting on a five-foot stone pavement. Once close, he handed over plastic containing cane ice along with a pipette for the girl to drink.

Nia quickly sipped the cane ice in her grasp. Sipped non-stop for a few seconds until Ardian was amazed to see his attitude. The girl's esophagus was fed by sugarcane water that never stopped moving until finally Ardian was laughing amusedly.

“Haus once, yes?” ask Ardian.

Nia nodded. His eyes looked up at Ardian, but his mouth was still sipping a drink inside the plastic as if it wanted to be spent an instant in one straw.

“Enak?” ask Ardian.

Nia nodded again.

“You again? Let me buy it again,” bargained Ardian when he saw the girl had already finished the drink in her hand and breathed a sigh of relief.

“No, Ardi, no need. Thank you.”

Ardian took a seat beside the girl, sipping the drink in his hand slowly and in a relaxed style. Shady trees protect them from the afternoon sun that begins to sink.

Nia fixed her hair back, while Ardian sat staring at her while drinking.

“It was late afternoon, Ardi,” said Nia after throwing the plastic she had in her hand into a nearby trash can.

“Yes, it doesn't feel like it's afternoon. Four hours we circled around the city of Medan but not every corner we visit,” said Ardian. “There are still a lot of places that have been missed. Tomorrow I take you around.” again

“No need, Ardi,” reject Nia. “Not all places must be shown to me. Anyway, what for?” said Nia.

He felt uncomfortable if he had to repeat the raun-raun done by Ardian earlier. Understandably, in her own city, Nia is a home child, does not like to run away. He only leaves the house if there are important things that must be taken care of or done, for example to school or to the market.

“Then, we go to the mall sometime.. Shopping, eating, watching, karaoke.”.

Nia smiled a little. It turns out that after adulthood, Ardian's hobbies and hobbies are not the same anymore. Nia still prefers to stay at home, read, study, swim in the river, or just sit on the porch sunbathing in the morning and enjoy the afternoon breeze.

While Ardian has turned into a big city boy today who likes to walk to the mall. According to Nia, a walk to the mall will cost a lot of money. At home, he was happy without spending money.
