Chapter 11
"Om, Auntie,” Nia said as she walked slowly closer to the two of them, bowing her body politely and standing in front of them.
Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska who was sitting leaning on the back of the sofa, straightened the body forward when seeing the arrival of Nia.
“Oh, Nia, you are here apparently!” exclamation Om Vishnu.
Aunt Siska who saw the arrival of Nia, glanced at Om Vishnu at a glance, waiting to be introduced to the young girl of her husband's old neighbor's son.
“Iya, Om, it just so happens that Nia again helped Bik Aini serve food on the table earlier and heard the sound of the arrival of Om and Auntie,” replied Nia.
At the end of her sentence, Nia looked at Aunt Siska who looked still beautiful and sexy with the tight dress she was wearing.
Aunt Siska who is about 50 years old seems 10 years younger than her age. Perhaps because life is luxurious and diligent to take care of yourself in the salon so it can look youthful and remain beautiful at the age of half a century.
Aunt Siska smiled, friendly. He nodded towards Nia before saying, “Sit down. Nia your name, isn't it?” tanyanya.
“Iya, Aunt,” nod Nia.
Nia sits in front of Aunt Siska and Om Vishnu. Various questions were raised by Aunt Siska as the beginning of the introduction to Nia. Apparently, Aunt Siska quite liked Nia who felt like a good and polite child.
“Tante congratulated you come here, Nia,” said the half-century woman. “Today, Nia heard husband Om's story about you. He said, you are a good and diligent child, obedient, and likes to help parents. But the most important thing is that you're Ardian's childhood friend. Om and Aunt are very difficult to understand the nature of Ardian now. Let alone now, since the first time Ardian came to the Aunt's house with Aunt's husband,” he said while pointing to Om Vishnu, “Ardian has shown a less friendly and somewhat emotional attitude. He gets angry easily for small things, for no reason. Until now it has not changed its nature. Om and Aunt have run out of sense facing him,” explained the woman.
Nia listened carefully. Apparently, Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska also felt the attitude of Ardian less friendly and somewhat emotional. Also rough of course. Another time with Ardian who used to swim and play with him in the hometown before he lost his birth mother. At that time Ardian was very kind and caring, caring for others, patient, not easily angry, let alone being rude.
“Because Om Vishnu said you were his best friend first, so Auntie had an idea to bring you from afar, stay in this house and study here if you want. Mana knows, with you in this house, can befriend Ardian, understand him, give him advice, and change him. Auntie feels you will definitely be able to do it, Nia.”
Nia was still listening to Aunt Siska's words. Apparently, the intent of her invitation to stay at Om Vishnu's house was to approach Ardian and transform him.
Ah, it turned out to be a very difficult job, could he? While just now while sitting in the arms of Ardian, he did not dare once he told him to stop buying drinks even though he was very thirsty. In fact, when rejected raun-raun again sometime, Ardian immediately angry. Especially when alluded to by the name of Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska, the more the displeasure becomes.
Recalling how Ardian had rudely thrown the plastic containing the remaining sugar cane ice drink in his hand into the trash can, passing through the face of Nia who was sitting next to him. Disrespectful and a bit rude according to Nia, but Nia did not even dare to reprimand her. Now suddenly he knows his duty is “administer” the young man later. Oh, geez! What a very hard task! He won't be able to carry it!
“How, Nia? Are you ready?” tanya Aunt Siska saw that Nia had not yet agreed.
“I have to change Ardian, Auntie? Change his attitude, his character, his emotions, and everything?” asked Nia with a thumping heart.
Aunt Siska nodded, definitely.
Nia turned her eyes to Om Vishnu who was sitting next to Aunt Siska. He hoped Om Vishnu could help him speak, but the man only smiled encouragingly and supported his wife's words.
“Receive this task, Nia. Not only for Om and Aunty, but also for Ardian and yourself later,” said Om Vishnu.
For himself later? What does Om Vishnu mean? nia doesn't understand. What good would it do to him if he succeeded in turning the rude attitude of Ardian into gentle, the emotional being patient, the angry being the concern or care for others? It was not an easy task, and had he succeeded later, the good thing must have been Ardian also with Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska. While her? Oh, let's just say this is the favor that Nia has to do for their kindness to let her stay free and delicious in this luxurious house, eat free drinks, and college will also be free later.
Because he felt already coming to Medan with his mother's hopes for a brighter future, higher education which is more a guarantee of good work later, Nia also half-heartedly nodded. “Alright, Om, Aunt, Nia will try,” the answer is short.
“Thank you, Nia,” Aunt Siska suddenly got up from her seat, moved to sit next to Nia and hug the girl's shoulder.
Nia smiled clumsily caressed like that by Aunt Siska. All this time, only her own mother had ever stroked her head so.
Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska are hungry, so is Nia. As if remembering, Nia invited papa Mama Ardian to the dining room to taste the cuisine of Bik Aini which was available earlier.
Smiling happily, the three walked towards the dining room. Bik Aini had already spooned the rice on each plate and arranged it on the table. All three, Om Vishnu, Aunt Siska, and Nia took place on a chair, began to taste the dish.
“Ohiya, Where is Ardian? How did you not see it from now?” ask Om Vishnu on the sidelines of his dinner.
“Ne do not know, Om, maybe already out of the house again, go raun-raun,” replied Nia.
“Ohya?” Aunt Siska frowned. “Yet you guys came out, huh? Ohiya, you've met, met, and talked to Ardian, haven't you?” ask Aunt Siska while chewing her food.
“Iya, Aunt, earlier Nia had taken raun-raun around the city of Medan with a large motor Ardi. We spent four hours wandering around. Arriving home already this afternoon when the day went,” Nia's story.
“So, Ardian where else now?” ask Om Vishnu.
“Ah, let it be, perhaps looking for dinner outside,” said Aunt Siska. He knew that Ardian did not like to meet him, because he deliberately avoided knowing that his mother would come home from Berastagi.
Bik Aini approaching. “Nak Ardian is not out of the house, Sir, Madam. I saw the bike was still in the parking lot. Perhaps Nak Ardian was sleeping in his room. Rest because but tired of the streets,” said Bik Aini.
“Oh, so Ardian is sleeping in the room, after all?” reaction of Om Vishnu. “Good then.”
Nia glanced at Bik Aini and smiled. Bik Aini nodded towards him, confirming his guess about Ardian's whereabouts. Perhaps Ardian was sleeping in his own room, because just now when Nia passed through the room it sounded silent without any sound.
Nia was still talking to Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska at the dinner table after dinner. Aunt Siska asked about her life in her hometown. He also asked about Ardian's figure in his childhood.
Apparently, Aunt Siska was not a proud person but friendly. Although his face looked very tired coming home from Brastagi, but he still asked this to Nia. He seemed curious and interested in the life of the simple girl. When compared with his own glamorous life in the big city, various activities are dense and heavy work that must be borne in taking care of the company of his deceased father, he said, Nia was like a blank paper that had just been written in two lines. While the life of Aunt Siska on the paper was full of doodles like a heavy mathematical formula.
Nia simply answered honestly and as was every question Aunt Siska had. He doesn't like to lie and he's not good at lying. After all, there was not a single part of his life that needed to be covered up, because indeed his life was clean, there were no black stains that littered the blank sheet of paper he filled.
Aunt Siska likes the honesty of Nia and her open attitude as it is. Nia also likes Aunt Siska's friendly, not arrogant, and caring attitude towards others even though she is just a simple innocent girl.
Not feeling, they had been sitting chatting for two hours. The night began to crawl, and Nia felt she had to be alone to sleep in her room.
He saw, Om Vishnu and Aunt Siska were already sleepy. Poor thing, the next morning they both had to get up early to go to the office together. While he and Ardian can still sleep until a little afternoon because it is still the holiday season.
“Nia go up first to the 2nd floor, Om, Auntie. Want to sleep first,” he said.
“Iya, Nia, please,” said Aunt Siska with a friendly smile.
He had yawned a few times since then, his eyes were already watery red because it held back the drowsiness. But he showed an attitude of respecting the first introduction with a young girl like Nia, so he wanted to accompany her to chat for hours and ask her all the ins and outs of herself. Even his own head was tired, perhaps. That was the attitude of Aunt Siska who was liked by Nia, appreciating.
Nia stood up from her seat and nodded at Om Vishnu following Aunt Siska. After that he walked up to the 2nd floor. Passing through Ardian's room was still like that, there was not the slightest sound. The young man was still asleep and did not know when he would wake up. You might not wake up for dinner and wake up the next morning, Nia thought.
Tired of the hard day on Sunday, Nia went into her room and laid herself on the bed. Shortly after closing his eyes, he fell asleep.
