Explanation of Vincent

“Now tell me, why did you marry me?” ask Olivia after lying down with Vincent in bed.

“Facing here.” Vincent asks Olivia to turn her body to the right so they can face each other.

“Before I tell you about it, I want to apologize to you first because I've been cruel to you all along. I did it for a reason,” Vincent said, staring at Olivia with a guilty face.

“Then tell me why and tell me everything now.”

Everything is still confusing for Olivia because there is so much that Vincent hides from her.

“The reason why I married you is not because I want revenge, but I do love you.”

“If you love me, why do you treat me like you hate me so much?"

Vincent admitted that he did. “I purposely did that to protect you.” Vincent's answer confused Olivia, “I want to protect you from my mother,” Vincent continued.

“What do you mean? Why do you have to protect me from your mother?”

With a serious face and a deep gaze, Vincent said, “I know what reason you left me."

Olivia's eyes widened upon hearing that.

“I know you left me because of my mother. I've known since the beginning.”

Something he thought he could hide from Vincent has been known for a long time.

"I know everything. You can't leave me just because I'm poor and helpless."

If that's why Olivia left him for money. He must have left her after his mother kicked him out of the house and confiscated all his possessions. Olivia must have married Alvin or other rich men if indeed Olivia likes rich men.

"Da-where did you know?" ask Olivia stammered. He still did not expect that Vincent already knew the reason he had broken off their relationship.

"Not long after I arrived in America. I asked Edric to investigate you."

After Olivia leaves him, Vincent asks Edric to investigate because he does not believe everything Olivia says. The sudden change that Olivia showed her certainly made her suspicious, let alone the day she left him, Edric said that his mother had met Olivia.

After a two-week investigation, Edric finally found out the truth. He flew straight to America to deliver it to Vincent. When Vincent asks Edric to bring Olivia to America so they can get married there, Edric immediately opposes him.

Edric said that Vincent's every move had been supervised by his mother, which is why he did not agree that Olivia was brought to America. He was sure Lucy Lu would definitely separate them back if he knew Vincent's intention to marry Olivia in America.

It's possible that her mother will send Olivia to a place where Vincent won't be able to find her if he finds out about her son's plans. It will not be lucky for him because Vincent's condition is still injured, especially Vincent still can not walk if not using aids. Vincent won't be able to find Olivia and miss her if that happens.

Edric eventually proposes to Vincent to stay away from Olivia on a promise to protect Olivia and watch her secretly without Lucy Lu's knowledge. Edric asked Vincent to recover his health first and then devised a plan to marry Olvia without his mother's knowledge.

“So all this time you've known everything?” asked Olivia softly.

“Yaa, from the beginning I knew it. I purposely didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd leave and disappear forever. I deliberately treated you so cruelly that you thought that I didn't love you anymore. The more I show my love for you, the more you'll get away from me, which is why I act as if I hate you. That way you'll feel safe and won't walk away from me. My mom also wouldn't suspect that I'm actually planning our wedding secretly.”

He had convinced Olivia by showing her how much love and sacrifice she had made so that she would not leave him whatever happened, but it did not work. Olivia still leaves him, but Olivia knows that she loves him.

"I thought you hated me all this time." Olivia looked down with a guilty face, "you've always been cynical and mean to me so I thought you hated me so much because I left you back then.”

Vincent grabbed Olivia's body and hugged her. “I'm sorry, Honey. I had to do it. I'm just afraid my mom is suspicious, besides, I'm also afraid you're leaving me again if you know that I'm actually preparing for our wedding and not with Jesica.”

What Vincent said was true, if he had known that, he would have gone to a faraway place to keep Vincent from finding him. He had promised Lucy Lu that he would stay away from Vincent and would never show his face again in front of Vincent in his entire life. If Vincent says he wants to marry her again, of course Olivia will leave him again.

"Are you really not mad at me because I left you?" ask Olivia after Vincent breaks her hug.

“At first I was angry with you because you chose to leave me, rather than defend me. You don't trust me at all that I can protect you from my mother. I was so disappointed in you at the time."

Vincent's anger is as great as Olivia's, but still he can't hate her

"I'm sorry, Cent. I just don't want you to live to suffer because of me."

"I'll suffer more if I don't live with you." Vincent stared fixedly at Olivia and said, "do you know, I suffered a lot and lost my way after your departure."

"I knew. That's why I planned this wedding." Vincent gently gripped Olivia's hand and said, "Now, there will be no one to separate us. I'll never let you leave me again."

"But what about your mother? She couldn't have accepted me, you saw, your mother tried to stop you."

"I'll break up with my mother forever if she doesn't accept you. My father and grandmother supported us. It doesn't matter if my mom doesn't accept you. We'll stay away from him so he doesn't bother you anymore."

"But Cent, she's your mother anyway, where you might have cut ties with your own mother."

"That's it. I'm not talking about my mom, honey. Don't talk about things that can ruin our happiness."

"Alright, but there's still something I want to ask you."

"What?"

Olivia woke up from her sleep and looked at Vincent who was lying on his side in front of her.

"Did Jesica know about your plans to marry me?”

Vincent wakes up from his sleep and sits opposite Olivia. "He doesn't know. He just realized today."

Seeing Olivia's confused face, Vincent again explained. "She didn't know about my plans to marry you, but she knew that I wouldn't marry her today because ever since my mom asked me to marry Jesica, I turned her down.”

“I'm sorry, Jes. I can't marry you,” Vincent refused.

“Why? Do you still love Olivia?” asked Jesica with a disappointed look.

“Yes. I still love him.”

“But he left you. He cut ties with you to return with Alvin.“

“Do you believe my mother's saying that Olivia left me because I was poor and was no longer useful to her?”

Jesica was silent and seemed to be thinking about something.

“You should know better why Olivia left me because you were in her position.”

Jesica is still there and has not yet opened her voice.

“This marriage is my mother's wish, not mine. I cannot marry you and will never marry you. The person I want to marry is Olivia, Jes.”

“Can't you give me a chance, Cent? I promise to be a good wife to you,” persuaded Jesica with a pleading gaze.

“Sorry, Jes, I can't. Until whenever this marriage will not happen. It's up to you to continue with this wedding plan, but one thing is for sure, I'll never marry anyone but Olivia" Vincent said.

"What if Olivia won't come back to you?"

"He will definitely come back to me."

Jesica smiled and said, "Cent, tell you what, let's just run your mother's will on our marriage. If until our wedding day comes and you still won't marry me, you can't come on our wedding day. I'll cancel our wedding by then."

"Jes, don't do this. I don't want to hurt you."

"I just want to fight to the end."

"You're just gonna hurt yourself, Jes."

"We'll see, I'll get hurt or vice versa. If indeed you refuse to marry me, then, you don't need to come on our wedding day."
