Chapter 42 - Unexpected

Erine calms herself down by coming to Drajat. There he tells his father about Sadam's current state.

"I hope Sadam gets a heart donor soon. Just pray, Rin." Drajat said. Trying to calm Erine down. She could only cry on her shoulders.

"Dad... Can I donate my heart to Sadam?" ask Erine.

Drajat was a little surprised. He immediately asked, "Are you sure? You know what would happen if you did that, right?"

"Yes... I know.." said Erine.

"You seem to love Sadam so much" Drajat said, caressing Erine's head.

"I just don't want him to leave. At least let me confess and apologize to her first," Erine sobbed.

Drajat suddenly had a cough. Erine is panicking. Especially when Drajat cough gets worse to bleed.

Erine called the doctor. Drajat immediately got treatment. Now Erine was told to wait outside the room.

Along with that, the phone rang. Erine got a call from Haris.

"Yes?" erine replied while crying. His sadness certainly got worse when he saw Drajat's condition deteriorate.

"I found a suitable heart donor for Sadam! You don't have to worry! Just pray the operation is smooth so Sadam can be healthy again" Haris said from across the phone.

"really? Thank goodness.." responded Erine. At least he can still hope with Sadam's recovery.

"Thank you for everything, Erine... I don't know what it would be like if you didn't exist. I hope you can realize your love and be on Sadam's side at all times" Haris said at length.

"Either... I'm not sure Sadam will forgive me." Erine is pessimistic.

After a long wait, the doctor who handled Drajat finally came out. He looks so sad. His expression had already told him that bad news would be heard.

Sure enough, the doctor tells Erine that Drajat can't be saved anymore.

Erine was crying. He even collapsed to the floor. Both of his legs felt weak to bear such deep sorrow.

For now Erine is focused on taking care of her father's death. He will come back to see Sadam's condition later.

Two days passed. Erine spends her time mourning Drajat's death. His father was buried in a cemetery. Erine just hopes Sadam doesn't get the same fate as her father.

After she was done with her business, Erine tried to contact Haris. But there was no answer from the man. Haris' phone number is still inactive.

Erine was worried. He also went to the hospital. That's when Erine got the shocking news. It was about Haris' death.

"W-what? You guys must be kidding me! Haris doesn't even hurt!" Erine is hard to believe.

"He's not sick, Mom. But it just so happened that Haris donated his heart to a patient named Sadam" explained the nurse who was facing Erine.

"What?!" Erine was shocked again. He did not expect Haris to be the one to donate heart to Sadam. Remembering the man had nothing to say about his intentions.

"Oh yes, Mr. Haris left a letter for you. Here," said the nurse. He was ready to leave immediately.

Erine received the letter the nurse gave her. He's putting on a blank look now. Really, Erine was shocked by the fact she heard. He could only cry again.

Now Erine is aware of her conversation with Haris last time. The man was impressed to talk as if he would be gone forever.
