Chapter 16 - Feeling Weird

Sadam remained silent until Erine returned. He waited for the girl to cook. Next, they eat together. Carefully Erine fed the Almonds.

"Are you angry? You suddenly become quiet" said Erine.

"Of course not. I do this when I eat. Not too much talking" Sadam said. Brief smile.

"Ah, i-yes." Erine stutters. Again he felt wrong. If she plays Sadam's wife, Erine should know about it.

"After eating I will accompany you to learn to walk using a cane," said Erine who immediately responded Sadam with a nod of the head.

Erine and Sadam spend time together in the backyard. There Sadam could freely use his cane.

"You're learning fast" commented Erine.

"I'm an expert at that. I don't think I'm gonna need a wheelchair anymore. Using a cane is easier" Sadam said as he walked with his cane. He stepped on his own without Erine's help.

Indeed the stick used Sadam is the best type of blind stick. The wand can detect things very well. So blind people like Sadam can walk smoothly without worrying about getting hit or falling.

Satisfied to spend time in the park, Sadam asked Erine to rest. While himself wanted to sit on the back porch alone.

"You don't have a problem being alone?" ask Erine.

"It's okay. You know I've been smart with this stick," Sadam replied.

"Yes already. I'm into ya," said Erine.

Sadam nodded. He is alone now. He thought many times about his wife's attitude now. Sadam began to remember how Erine behaved when she was conscious from post-surgery.

"He was normal at first. But over time there feels something different," muttered Sadam. He thought he wanted to ask the strangeness he felt about Erine.

"Master? Why are you alone?" ask Haris.

"Daris! It's just so you came!" exclaim Sadam. "I told Aylin to rest. I think he's been trying too hard to cook for me. Honestly, this is the first time I've known about cooking difficulties" she continued.

Haris's eyes are round. He felt the reason Erine had made to protect had failed. He could feel Sadam's suspicion.

"Do you think there's something strange about Aylin?" ask Sadam.

"Slightly, Sir. He changed a bit after the accident. The doctor said the accident almost disrupted his motor skills. I think that's the reason. I'm sorry to tell you just now" Haris explained at length. Because the existence of Erine as a surrogate wife is his plan, then he certainly tried hard to convince Sadam.

"really? It's only fair that he suddenly can't cook risotto." Sadam just believed. Remember Haris is one of his confidants.

"Look, Haris! I can walk with a stick. Aylin was the one who accompanied me walking using this," said Sadam.

"You're great, sir!" praise Haris with an enthusiastic tone.

After talking to Sadam, Haris felt threatened. He'll talk everything over to Erine. Haris wanted to warn the girl to be more careful.
