The Wife (The Persecuted Wife)
Attempts

Half a day Elno was in Didi's workshop and he was paid twenty thousand plus rice wrappers and soap makeup gifts from Didi's wife.

The rice pack is just the rice that Elno eats. Didi was so good with buying him rice plus a piece of fried chicken.

She remembers Kara being pregnant. His wife needs him more than herself. Elno arrived home at half-six in the afternoon. Kara is on the terrace.

"I was waiting for you on purpose" Kara said.

"I have mangoes and side dishes for you to eat. Here, copy it first." Elno handed him her black plastic bag.

"Where is the fruit. We don't have money to buy."

"From behind the school. I take a shower first. Talk again" said Elno.

"I want to see your value."

"Look in the bag. You keep your husband's treasure, " cried Elno before she went into the bathroom.

Kara can only shake her head, she dismantled Elno's food first. Kara wants to shed tears because Elno still remembers her. The fried chicken was still intact untouched. Only her husband ate. Then, the fruit that Elno took from the back of the school even though the mango had to be silenced a few days before it was fully ripe.

Kara opened her husband's backpack. He saw a pretty good list of values. If Elno enrolls in the university for sure he will graduate easily accepted.

"Have seen" said Elno.

Kara nodded. "Yes. Your grades are pretty good. Are you sure you don't want to go to college?"

"I want to, but there's no money."

"I have savings. There are about seven to eight million" Kara said.

"What?" Elno was shocked to hear that. "Why don't you say you have a lot of money?"

Kara laughs. "Money at school. The day after tomorrow I'll take it. From first grade I saved up for college without my mom and dad's knowledge."

Elno gently rubbed the top of his wife's head. "Save the money. Make the delivery later."

"I think it'll be enough to make the same list of labor costs. One of us has to achieve his dream. I also want to have a successful husband. Office work," said Kara.

Elno smiling. "I'll think about it later. Let's just eat, yuk. I'm already hungry. What are you cooking today?"

"Fried rice."

"Pas then. There's fried chicken."

Kara prepared food for her and her husband. Armed with fast food seasoning, simple food becomes more delicious. Elno ate well, including Sara.

...****************...

Two days later, Elno drove Kara to school to take a diploma and savings. Elno remained silent in front of the school gate while waiting.

"Hi, El. Very faithful waiting for Kara," said Sari.

Elno smiling. "Yes, dong. Couples must be faithful in anything."

"You're one college later?"

"You don't know" replied Elno.

That is, Kara's friends no one knows that they are actually both married.

"They're pregnant again" one woman said.

Elno and Sari turned to the source of the voice. Elno remembers that the teenagers who interjected were Kara's classmates, but their house was close together. Must be Kara's life problem has spread.

"Pregnant?" ask Sari.

"Well! Miss your gossip. All my friends knew it. The teacher knows the rumors. The kids were talking in the chat group" Delia said.

"What if she's pregnant? Kara has a husband. I'm her husband" replied Elno.

"You're married?" ask Sari.

"Yes, we're married. No problem, dong. If Kara's pregnant with my son."

"Later to chat you, Sari," said Delia, then walked away.

"Sorry, El. Maybe they gossiped in another group. In the class group, no one talks about Kara. Really, El. I really don't know your problems. Kara didn't say anything either" Sari said.

Sari nodded. "Congratulations, deh. Make you guys."

"Thank you."

"Darling!" exclaim Kara.

Elno immediately approached Kara, while Sari stepped aside because she did not want to disturb. Kara hugs Elno and shows her the money she saved all this time.

"There are eight million in this savings. The money's been transferred into my account" Kara said.

"You keep the money. At least I can breathe a sigh of relief."

"Aren't you going to college? Good value. Going to public college won't cost much."

Elno nodded. "Yes. I'll try."

Kara smiled. "Good then. For his semester money, I'm sure we can collect it."

Elno nodded. "I'll try hard. Come on, let's go home."

...****************...

Elno agrees on the advice of Kara. One of them has to continue their education. At least to get a decent job. Elno wants to make Kara happy.

Finally, he signed up even though it was too late. Just take the test and wait for the results, then just know whether Elno will be accepted into college.

Elno was not really hopeful either. Gratitudefully accepted. If not, it also doesn't matter.

"Why do I feel pounding waiting for the results?" kara said.

"Aren't you okay if I go to college?" ask Elno.

Kara shakes. "Of course not because you're going to make money for us."

Elno rubbed Kara's stomach which had started to look bloated. "I can't wait for our baby to be born."

"Do we have to go home after this baby is born?" ask Kara.

Elno shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know either."

"Can you take me home? I want to get some clothes. Mama might want to accept me."

"May also try" said Elno.

"We're leaving now."

There is no harm in trying to return to their parents' homes. No parent will abandon their own child.

Elno takes Kara first to her parents' house. The bell pressed, nervousness engulfed both. Not long ago the door was opened by a middle-aged man and it was the father of Kara.

"You're doing it again here! Need money? You are no longer my son!" said The Father.

"Who's coming, Pa?" ask Kara's mother who just arrived.

"Mama," call Kara.

"Son, you're back." The mother wanted to hug her daughter, but was blocked.

"That's enough, Ma. He was expelled and still smear the dirt in our family. How shameful we are for what he did! Now you get out of here, Kara. We will not accept you" said the father.

"Where to get clothes."

"It just so happens you're coming." The father went into the house, and soon returned with a suitcase. "Take it and get out of here!"

"Pa, forgive Kara," she asked.

"Go!" throw The Father out.

Elno picked up the suitcase her in-laws had thrown away. "Come, Kara. We are no longer welcome here. We better go."

Kara nodded. "Mom, Papa. Kara's gone and won't be back."
