The Wife (The Persecuted Wife)

Kara cries when she reaches her daughter's grave. Whether this is the sadness of losing a child or Kara who mourns her fate now. He just wanted to cry in front of Finola's headboard.

Now he himself does not know the real purpose. Where his footsteps should stand. Kara has a husband and a home, but there she will be considered a burden.

"Kara, it's already very late afternoon. Come on, go home," said Elno.

"Where?" ask Kara.

"To our house" answered Elno. "I've already made a room for you."

Hearing Elno's words felt like a heart-slicing instrument. The room was reserved for her and it was special which meant, Kara would stay in her own room and her husband, Kara knew Elno would say the next word that was more heartbreaking.

Kara nodded. "Come, I do need a place to lay down."

"It's your home" said Elno.

"I'm so impressed you're still saying it's my house."

"Because the house was bought with your money" replied Elno.

Kara was silent, she walked quickly out of Finola's funeral. The two walked silently without a word towards the car parked by the side of the road.

Elno opened the passenger door for his wife. Kara climbed in the front seat, followed by Elno who sat in the front seat of the steering wheel.

Engine turned. Elno sees Kara who has not yet put on her seat belt. He re-opened the rope that wrapped around his body, then leaned back to grab the seat belt. However, Kara shifted, and raised her hand to keep Elno from approaching.

"Just be wild. I don't like wearing seat belts" Kara said.

"Wear it, yeah, honey. Make your own security."

"Just be wild. If there is an accident, I am grateful. Can forget the memory or die even though nothing," said Kara so upset.

Elno returned to her position. He also does not wear a seat belt. If Kara wants to die or have an accident, then she will come with his wife.

"You still have children" Kara said.

Elno was silent, and she put her belt on. Turn on the engine, then drive the car home. On the way, both are still in silence. Kara is in grief and Elno is in her guilt.

Kara's heart beats as the car reaches her own home. This is like himself who will ride in people's homes, but clearly Elno's residence is now his. Kara can drive all of her residents out, but her status says it's not right.

When Kara and Elno get out of the car, Sari comes out holding a cute baby named Finola. Unfortunately Kara was eager to reach the baby. This reminded him of the princess who had passed away.

"Finola was like Mama, yeah. Papa's gonna take a shower. It was finished from the grave of his brother," said Elno.

"Yes, Pa," said Sari as she imitated the voice of a child.

"Come on, we're all in" said Elno.

All enter with Kara trailing from behind. Elno and Sari walk side by side.

"I have dinner ready" said Sari.

"You're cooking my favorite food, right?" ask Elno.

"Yes, all your favorite foods for tonight."

"Where are my things?" ask Kara.

"I'll take you to the room" said Elno.

Elno walked first and Kara tailed behind. The upper room is just like the design Kara likes. There is a TV room and a small library. There are two rooms at the top and one of them is a bedroom for Kara.

Elno opened a room that was not so spacious, but because the color of the walls was white. So, the room was quite big. There is one seat that fits two people and one round table facing a glass window connected to the terrace of the room. A king size bed and a bathroom.

"The room is to your liking, right? I also made a wardrobe for you that was shifted," said Elno, then opened the closet that had been arranged Kara's clothes in it.

Elno opened a small drawer inside the closet, then took out some jewelry boxes. He put it on the bed.

"Gift for you" said Elno.

"Is this a bribe?" ask Kara.

"I bought it with my own salary. Every time there's more, I buy one piece of jewelry for you."

"Get out of my room" Kara kicked out.

Elno gasped at it, then she lowered her head and walked out. Kara shut the door and locked it. Her body slumped down and Kara came back crying.

Kara knew her crying wouldn't change anything. She wanted to be strong by accepting everything, but her heart ached when she saw that there was another woman by her husband's side.

"His pain is more heartbreaking than being kicked out of the house. I must also feel sad when I get married again" Kara murmured.

...****************...

Kara finished cleaning herself, she sat on the sofa while looking at the dark sky. The dream house has been achieved, but the pay is very expensive. She had to share her husband with another woman and unfortunately it was her schoolmate first.

The knocking of the door broke Kara's daydream. He was reluctant to get away from the comfortable sofa he occupied, but the sounds and beats incessantly called out his name. Lazily Kara stood up and walked open the door.

"What's wrong?" ask Kara.

"We ate together. Come on, get down," said Elno.

As the sadness dragged on, Kara refrained from eating. Stupid he who intentionally starves himself. Kara calls for Elno. Then together down.

All the rooms were as Kara wanted, but her eyes only knew if there was an addition in the display cabinet of the house. There are neatly arranged wedding photos of Sari and Elno. There are also photos of their babies made like a collection of the development of Finola from zero months old until now.

Kara took a picture of her husband's wedding. A very fancy wedding party. Kara smiles wryly because her marriage is not like Sari and more surprising there are family photos. Elno did not say if she had made up with her parents.

Then the graduation photo of Elno with her best friend. Photo of Sari wearing a doctor's shirt. Kara had suspected if Sari could reach her goal of becoming a health worker. At the end of the closet was a photo that made Kara shed tears. It was the result of an image captured with a cell phone camera. Elno, Finola and Kara in their rental house.

"Kara, come on, let's eat" asked Elno.

Kara grabbed the photo, then opened the frame. He received one-on-one reminder of his absence from the princess. Kara tore off part of Elno, crushed it, then threw it on the floor. Kara did it in front of her husband. Kara stomps on Elno's picture with her feet.

"Let me keep our own photos. I don't think we have a place here either" Kara said.
