After tea and snacks, Emily meets Farrell in the lobby. He gave me the room key. The key, like any other hotel, is a magnetic card. The front side is white with the words Eden’s Lodge in green while the back has a thick black line. Emily explains that their room is on the second floor.
Milo led his brothers through the sitting room to the stairs at the end. Every corner in the hotel is brown and made of wood or stone. As they climbed, they could see classic chandeliers dangling above the waiting room. The light is hanging directly from the third floor. The ceiling is much higher than it looks. While climbing the stairs, they could enjoy the view through the window on the side. White snow covered all sides. Not only the top of the trees, but also the valley below. Apparently this inn was built on a hill.
“What is it?” milo asked as he pointed to the back of the inn. There is a building of circular brick. The shape is similar to a well but the hole is tightly closed. The surrounding floor was covered in paving and again snow.
Farrell quit. His eyes glanced at what Milo pointed at. “Maybe a place to light a bonfire to warm the skiers.”
“With this weather, I don't want to go out there.” Milo looked around. He found a small building with one piece open without a wall. From this open section, a large, thick cable is seen dangling down over a long valley. The cable rests on sturdy poles that are lined regularly. “What is ski lift? So it's a ski run? Big too.. It's a pity they were forced to close it.”.
“It looks dangerous,” whispered Libby.
Milo agrees. “Dangerous? Maybe, but it must be exciting! I thought I could take pictures while skiing. My friends must be envious to see it.”
“If only photos, maybe you can borrow the equipment from uncle.” Farrell just spoke.
“Good idea. Hopefully they haven't thrown away the equipment.”
They arrived on the second floor. Another room was waiting for them. This sitting room was right on the reception desk, so they couldn't see Emily underneath. But, they could see into the entrance and the sitting room on the first floor clearly. Moreover, the safety wall is only one meter high, made of pieces of wood, such as a row of stairs.
This sitting room is flanked by two aisles. One hallway leads to the back and the hallway goes to the right side. The instructions on the wall tell them where their room is. Rooms 201-206 are along the hallway to the back. Room 207-214 on the right side aisle.
“204,” said Farrell glanced at the card lock envelope. “We're here.”
They passed through two rooms on the right side and two rooms on the left side. Their room is at the end of the hall, right opposite room 203. As Farrell opened the door, Milo was engrossed in seeing the outside conditions through the window at the end of the hallway. From there, the ski runs are even clearer. They are like silver scarves stretched out. Unfortunately, the middle is dirty. Rubbish in the form of wooden stems and leaves scattered. Some of them are quite big. The track must be cleared first if it is to be used again.
“They should be doing treatment. It's a pity that ski runs are left like that.”
“I told you it was dangerous,” Libby said, leaving Milo and joining Farrell.
Their room is a family room. After passing through the bathroom, there were two single-size beds. A little slanted across, there was one king-size bed. In the corner, there is a red sofa and a coffee table on the carpet. Wooden cabinets run along the length of the wall. There is also a closet and a writing desk. All three of their suitcases were already there, placed near the entrance, next to the shoe cabinet.
“Wow... Clean and convenient,” Farrell murmured while turning on the heater through the button on the wall. He took off his jacket while looking into the bathroom. If the floor of the room is made of wood, the bathroom floor is made of gray ceramic even though the walls and sink are wooden too. There is a shower behind the wall bulkhead, bath tub, also closet. “It's good. May the hot water light up.”
Farrell just smiled. He knew his sister did not need an answer, because Milo had taken off his jacket and shoes and jumped into the biggest bed. Libby was lying next to him. The two stared at the white ceiling with a simple chandelier.
“This is heaven. I can sleep all day here,” muttered Milo.
“Bu teacher said, it's called hibernation. Bears did. Are you some kind of bear?”
Milo got up and tickled his sister. “If I'm a bear, it means you're a bear sister, dong!”
Libby laughed amusedly and tickled Milo back. The age of five between the two did not make it difficult for them to get along. Farrell's? Sometimes, he always felt too old for his younger siblings' games. He chose to look at them from afar while doing his own work.
“Hei, brat brother!” exclaim Milo to Farrell. “You seriously want to do that? Inhere? In the middle of the holidays?” he asked when he saw Farrell pull out the laptop bag from the suitcase.
“I just want to check some designs only.”
“Oke, it's up to you. I'm going downstairs. Who knows, they still have ski equipment. Libby, would you like to come with me?” Milo got out of bed. Libby nodded as well. “Hei Libby, just leave Toto here. Farrell won't hurt her.”
Libby nodded again. However, before exiting the door, he turned to his eldest brother. “You must take care of him for me. Okay?”
“How about the new doll from uncle?” tanya Farrell glanced at the paper bag beside the suitcase.
Libby shaking. “She can take care of herself.”
The two get out, leaving Farrell alone with Toto and a new nameless doll. Farrell turned on his white laptop, opened the program, looked at the floor plans and three-dimensional images. Some friends asked him to design their apartment. At first, he refused because the interior was not really his expertise. But after some deliberation as well as a sense of learning, Farrell accepted their request.
There is nothing wrong with learning many new things while waiting for the master scholarship program process. She can help teach at school in the morning and complete design drawings in the evening. That's his daily life now. Actually he himself had no intention of working during the holidays, but since there was a slight change, Farrell decided to bring a laptop so that he could work at the inn.
After an hour had passed, Farrell stood up from his chair. He went to the balcony next to the big bed and opened the glass door. Stop right there. Farrell had no intention of going out because as soon as the door opened, a cold wind blew in and made a shiver. Hurry up, he shut it back down. When he did, his eyes looked at the bird again.
“It turns out it was indeed an owl,” he said to himself.
