Chapter 09 - A surprising hunt

They left in the morning. Before sunrise Hazel had roused Neron from his sleep to hunt in the forest, as it was still dark so Neron asked if they would leave now.

"Are we leaving now? It's not that it's still too dark" Neron asked curiously

"Do you think we're not going to prepare anything" Hazel went to the kitchen followed by Neron.

The man was looking for the sack as a place for his hunted monster. After he finds Hazel also taking her rifle and her Vrodast, he hunts using that rifle and the sword he uses if there is a sudden attack from close range.

"This is it" said Hazel, who was holding a dagger in her hand and gave it to Neron.

"Use it if a monster suddenly attacks you. Because now you're gonna help me get a bow and some arrows, that's gonna be the weapon on the hunt this time"

"If I want to use the sword, but the bow is not bad". Neron took the bow he had saved. Hearing Neron's words, Hazel turned and looked at him and said.

"Listen Neron this isn't a battle drill like you against me It's a hunt, an effective weapon is a long-range weapon if you play around you might just die" hazel said with a stern face trying to warn Neron.

"Well, well, I understand" as usual Neron answered casually and he tried to do archery movements using his bow.

"Is everything going to be okay?"

Hazel sighed. He tries to be assertive by warning Neron, but Hazel finds out that this boy once killed a living creature without feeling anything. If Neron's upbringing is wrong Neron could be a cold-hearted killer who would kill everyone without feeling anything because that's so that Hazel doesn't go wrong he should be able to educate Neron so that the child can stay on his path.

Neron, who is trying to adapt to this difficult path, is slowly getting through it and is now catching up with Hazel, but Veronian's running speed still left the two of them unable to catch up and the distance between them and the monster remained unchanged. In the middle of the hunt, Neron and Hazel sense something strange and then the Veronian suddenly stops running making the two of them follow him.

"It looks like there's a powerful monster around here" Neron warned Hazel. Hazel was also able to sense it The monster gave off a powerful killing aura.

"It was Brunes, a feathered Monster who possessed Paralize Roar magic. Magic capable of crippling his enemy with a roar. He is an A rank monster" Hazel tells Neron "We should run away if we meet him but now we can't move, all we can do now is fight him"

Seeing that his prey was lifeless and then Brunes ate it, the mouth of the monster was filled with Veronian flesh and blood, he ate it voraciously but he didn't like it if anyone saw him eat because that brown-furred monster turned around and faced the two who saw it, he growled preparing to attack them.

The effect of the Paralize Roar lasted only 2 seconds, it could not be used to escape but now they could do it but the Brunes had already charged towards them.

"Let me fight Neron you help me from behind" said Hazel ran towards Brunes with her sword and attacked the monster.

"Good" Neron replied briefly.

Hazel and the monster exchange attacks Clashes between Hazel's sword and Brunes' claws occur, although the attack from the brown-haired monster was not too fast but if Hazel got hit by her claws 1 time it was possible that she could die. Although Hazel is fighting she knows that Neron is ready for his attack when Hazel has successfully landed a slash on Brunes' body she will jump backwards to make room for Neron's arrow to hit its target.

Hazel examines Brunes' body whether he is alive or dead, and after observing the location of the attack he received, the, Hazel knew immediately that the creature was lifeless not because of the slash she gave but because of Neron's arrow, the attack hit the heart of Brunes, causing Brunes to fall and die.

"Are you doing that on purpose?" ask Hazel

"You mean aiming at his heart?.yes I think that's the quickest way to defeat him" Neron said casually

"again you don't feel anything huh" Hazel smiled bitterly

"Why indeed?" neron asked as if nothing was wrong

"Ah come" Hazel said as she walked towards the Veronian corpse eaten by Brunes while Neron saw Brunes' corpse and tried to touch it.

As the two of them saw the corpse, a gate appeared behind Neron without anyone noticing.

"now clean the Brunes and bring the pu-" did not have time to finish his sentence Hazel looked back, a thin sword preparing to stab Neron in the back, at full speed Hazel ran towards Neron and then kicked Neron away from the sword.

"Why suddenly" Neron who was kicked away was upset and would make a complaint but he was surprised that Hazel's body was pierced and made her blood come out of her stomach by the sword instead it was the tongue of a monster.
