The President's Wife

The President's Wife
Chapter 188: I envy you, Auntie

“Tante ...” whispered Kailla slowly, staring unblinkingly.

The shadow reappeared, the dark memory was re-spinning. Anita is not a new figure in Kailla's life, even women with a smile that looks sweet this afternoon is the first woman he knows after Mother Ida and Ibu Sari.

The footsteps were heavy, but inevitably Kailla had to deal with it. With her hands constantly rubbing her distended stomach, Kailla assures herself that everything will be fine.

“Tante ...” Kaila greeted Anita, forcing a smile. Among the people sitting around the oval table, only Anita was a familiar figure.

“Kailla.” Anita stood up in welcome.

“How are you doing, Kai?” The hand was outstretched, showing off a smile that looked sincere.

“Good, Aunt.” Kailla tried to strengthen her heart, hiding her fear behind her tough attitude. Welcoming Anita's hand with her heart beating fast.

“Congratulations for your pregnancy. How many months has it been?” tanyanya.

“Five months, Aunt.”

Smiling, Anita still had time to wipe Kailla's distended stomach. “Time quickly passes, the little girl who always whines for ice cream and lollipops, now will already be a mother.”

Seeing Kailla flinch on the spot, Anita tried to melt the atmosphere. “How are you Rey?” tanyanya slow.

“My husband is fine, Aunt.”

“Titip greetings to Rey. Thanks ... Rey's been taking care of me for the last few years. I couldn't renew it when I got out of the hospital.” Anita walked back to her seat, followed by Kailla who took the opposite position.

The two women whose story is connected because a man named Reynaldi Pratama seemed to throw a smile at each other when the two pairs of eyes clashed. Kailla seemed serious about hearing all the meeting materials that only 50% percent of her mastery. One thing he knew, Anita is a potential client who might help his company if the project is won.

For almost an hour, Kailla sat quietly listening, ignoring Sam who was busy receiving scolding from Pram outside the meeting room. The pregnant woman can breathe a sigh of relief when the meeting is declared over.

“Kai, can we talk?” ask Anita suddenly.

Kailla has just stood up for a meeting with the staff and directors of the subsidiary RD Group, discussing the project issues Anita has offered.

“Not long. There's something I should talk about in private with you,” persuade Anita again.

Kailla was silent, frozen in place. The shadow of the past, where she was kidnapped and almost harassed by Anita's men makes Kailla shudder in horror.

“I will not harm you,” said Anita, smiling.

Kailla seemed to think. It was nothing, now that she was pregnant, her husband was also sick. If anything happens to him, Pram will go crazy. Especially until something happens to their babies. It is certain that her husband will go on a rampage, even killing people.

“You don't trust me? Em ... how about we just talk here,” bargain Anita.

“Good.” Kailla sits back in her place with Anita taking her place across the table.

The pregnant mother's heart skipped a beat as the meeting room door closed and left them both inside. The bad shadow turned back, Kailla's fingers squeezing each other over her lap.

“I'm sorry, Kai. For events four years ago ...” Anita bowed in embarrassment, saying it slowly. The regret came attacking him. Imagine how bad he was at the time.

“Ya ..”.

“Send also my apologies to Rey. I know, he hates me so much now.” Anita continued her sentence.

“My husband has forgiven you, Aunt.” Kailla said slowly. Still down, not wanting to face Anita.

“I know ...your company is having financial difficulties. I'm offering you this project to help you. In the offer earlier, your company will get the first payment after the progress reaches 30%, but I will pay you 30% upfront, even now I am willing to pay you.” Anita says.

Of course Kailla was surprised. 30% of what Anita meant, was not a small value. In fact it could make the RD Group breathe a little relieved.

Yes, although in the end he really loves Pram, but there is a price to be paid for his lies in the beginning. Riadi knew everything, and rejected it out loud. Although repeatedly, she says that she really loves Pram, Riadi is not willing to listen anymore.

Kailla thrust a box of tissue in front of Anita after seeing the woman crying loudly.

“Tante loves my husband very much?” ask Kailla slowly.

Anita did not reply, instead the woman cried until her body trembled violently.

“My husband Pram, love you so much, Auntie. I know he loved you a lot first. In fact, the first aunt my husband loved. Aunt who had it first. To be honest, I envy you, Auntie.” Kailla says.

“I'm sorry ...” Omit Anita.

“Indeed Aunty should be sorry. Aunty must know what a Pram looks like if it loves someone.” Kailla reminds Anita back.

Anita nodded inside her sobs. Pram is the greatest man when he loves someone. Pram will sacrifice a lot when he loves.

“Tante knows, a dozen years he's trying to forget you. With great difficulty he forgot you. Aunt should be sorry. Even he married me only with affection and responsibility.” Kailla's got it all out.

Anita fell silent, hearing the sentence after sentence that came out of Kailla's lips.

“He loves you, loves you so much. How lucky you are, Auntie. Being the only one Pram loved. Even my husband until now still has to bear the burden and sin of leaving you first, making your child die.” Kaila unravels everything she knows.

“I'm sorry.” Anita said softly in between her sobs.

“And now he's mine. If Auntie shows up again in Pram's life to reclaim it, Aunt will face me,” Kailla threatened.

“Now Pram's love is mine, Pram's life is mine. There are no more remnants of Anita in her life ..” Kailla said.

“I declined a project that Aunty offered.”

Anita raised her gaze, surprised by Kailla's refusal. It's not that he doesn't know how the RD Group is on the edge.

Kaila was about to walk out, but the pregnant woman turned around again.

“Tante, you should know one thing .. My husband once said ... he regretted leaving you, very sorry. It was the hardest decision of his life. The stupidest decision he made. Maybe if his position was the same as it is now, he had everything, he would have kept you. And it won't be a loser. If time can be replayed, she'll choose you over me and daddy.”

Anita's crying is getting louder.

“I once asked him .. does he love you. He answered me frankly. He loves you so much.”

Kailla exited the meeting room with a shunt step. His struggle through the journey of Jakarta - Bandung did not produce results. And Anita, that woman is still crying as she pleases. Regretting everything. There's nothing left. She knew four years ago that Pram was no longer hers. And he didn't come here to reclaim it.

The ringing of a cell phone made Anita stop lamenting her fate. A smile appeared when he saw the mother who contacted him at this time.

“Yes, Mom. What's up?” ask Anita while sobbing.

“However, An?” ask for a weak voice from across.

“Rey wife refused, but I will still send the funds to her company.” Anita said slowly.

“I can see Rey with other women, but I can't see Rey destroyed,” Anita continued.
