...First day in LA...
When he arrives in LA, Elston immediately takes Mia to one of his penthouses. And this time Mia again stunned because of the appearance of the penthouse they will occupy while in LA. "We're gonna stay here Els?" asked Mia in amazement.
It's not new for Mia to have to see luxury things while with Elston. A successful man like himself would naturally not live in an ordinary place. But still Mia is not easy to get used to all the luxuries that always make her breath blocked.
"Yupz. We're gonna stay here." Elston is sure. Because for him this is the best option. "This place is close to where I work and also close to the top universities in the city. Do you like it?" Ah, it's almost.
"This place is even beyond my shadow Els. But, is there only the two of us here? I mean, isn't anyone else taking care of this place? Because I haven't seen anyone here since." Even Mia did not see the butler who should have come to greet them like in London.
Of course Mia asked not because she objected to having to divide her work to clean the entire house, but still she was not sure she would be able to finish everything in one day. The penthouse was too big for them to live in.
"You calm down, baby. There are some workers who will come to clean this penthouse every day. But they won't stay here." Elston smiled as he could slightly read Mia's anxiety. "here. I brought you your suitcase."
Mia also walked right behind Elston as the two headed to the magnificent door that was about five meters away. "Here you just need to be by my side. Wherever I go, you must come too. That's all your job, easy isn't it?." The first order Mia got from her master. Sounds not so hard to do.
"You don't have to cook or make breakfast, if you think you should. There's a waiter who'll do it all." Elston added. "You simply wake up and say good morning cheerfully. That's enough. You really don't have to do anything else."
Mia was astonished. This is a privilege for him. Shouldn't it be working? but why does she feel like a young lady who owns everything in front of her? how quaint.
Elston took the key from his bag. While Mia's mouth remained silent as she looked around. Even though the penthouse was empty at the moment, everything looked clean. There are no signs like not living. Everything is too clean and neat.
"Home sweet home." exclaimed Elston, smiling happily as he opened the door and showed Mia his penthouse.
Upon entering the penthouse, the first to grab Mia's attention is a large portrait with a picture of a woman whose face looks exactly the same as the man beside her. But Mia wouldn't ask who that woman was. Because that would sound stupid. It was obvious that the woman was someone important to Elston.
Later, they were also greeted with several paintings of goddesses from ancient times that adorned several sides of the room. One of them is Aprhodite, Athena, even Goddess Hera. All of them were Elston's favorite goddesses.
"Come on. Later if you want to admire all this. I'll show you where your room is. Your room is next to mine. We'd better take a little break before we go to dinner." take Elston. Because tonight he plans to bring Mia to enjoy the romantic dinner he had reserved after they got off the plane.
"Hem. Alright." Both went straight upstairs. "Well, this is your room" Elston said. "And here is my room." Their rooms were completely next to each other like Elston had said before.
"I'll call you when you're ready." Mia Just nodded obediently. Elston was his master, and there was not a single word Elston could speak of. "Smart girl. Take a break."
After Mia entered his room, Elston also returned to his room. This is the first time in years. Suddenly, Elston's breath felt tight. His body was bristling and fear and guilt were slowly taking hold of him.
Being in that place, made Elston's mind go back to the memories of a few years ago.
When he was still too naive and ignored all the possibilities that could happen in his life. The old Elston was an Elston who was too comfortable with his luxurious life. It was as if he would never have trouble though. But it turns out he was wrong.
Now to him, the penthouse was a palace that held memories as well as sadness. Moreover, all this time the penthouse had become a hiding place for Elston.
The second most comfortable place that makes him not realize if something bad is happening to the people he loves.
"Mom. Ii'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't take care of you." Elston tried to hold on. He set his breath, so that his mind would return to clarity. This is not a good time to get back down. It is not the time to be weak either.
"Look mom. I'm back in this place." Elston looked at the portrait frame on the nightstand next to his bed. His eyes were hot and his vision turned blurry. Elston crying. "If mom were still here, I'd like you to meet Mia. The girl who had brought back happiness in my life mom." Elston's gaze now turned sad.
"Please keep an eye on me. And also remind me that I always treat the girl I love well. So that I can also take care of him with all my abilities. Because right now, the only most important thing I have in my life is her mom. Only him. I really want to have her and love her my whole life. You're gonna support me, aren't you?"
"Mom would have scolded me if I knew what I was doing. But I don't care. Because I really want to protect people who are precious to me mom. Do I sound so selfish? but just calm down. I promise that I will always love her and put her happiness first. I promise mom."
