Part 86: A Pair of White Goose

A gentle breeze blew Qingyi's gently-dissolved hair. In the magnificent court of the palace, the corridor extended westward. The end of this corridor was a lodge that the previous emperor had built for Empress Dowager Ming.

The cottage was built on a lake, a little bit to the middle. The access road is made of rocks and agarwood that are plugged into the water, making the place seem to float on the water.

The girl did not know why her feet could step into this place. Perhaps, he was too tired to take care of most of the affairs that he should not have indulged in.

A palace maid stood behind him, looking down in fear. The servant's hand was tied to the stomach.

“Your Highness Princess, does anyone bother you?”

The voice of the palace maid had just sounded. Seeing Princess Empress Changle suddenly enraged, the maid became frightened. His body trembled slightly, sweat pouring into his clothes. Carefully he approached, then asked back, “Your Highness Princess?”

“Can you catch that pair of geese?”

The little palace maid directly bent her knees on the pedestal of the cottage and lowered her head. His body was trembling and he was very frightened. Qingyi frowned, deepening the reaction of this servant which she thought was excessive.

The laziness of arguing made Qingyi pay no heed to the lamentations of the servants. The girl stood up, then shouted to the two palace guards who were on patrol. The two bodyguards approached her, asking what made Princess Empress Changle call them out in a loud voice.

“Catch those geese for me! They are very noisy and have ruined my composure!”

The two guards stared at each other doubtfully. The waiter looked up, with an eye signal telling the guards if they could not do that.

However, the two bodyguards had sluggish brains and did not catch the intent of the maids. The two foolish bodyguards took off their weapons, then went down to the lake to capture the two geese.

Goose are fowl, they have a wide pair of wings. As the two bodyguards came to catch, both spread their wings and flapped, flying away into the middle of the lake. The two bodyguards did not give up, they swam with their abilities, chasing after a pair of goose that had gone rogue.

“Stupid! Catching a goose alone cannot! Do I need to call your friends to help?”

“Your Highness Princess, I beg you not to catch him. The white swan really should not be caught.”

“You're noisy! Get out of here!”

“Your Highness, Princess Empress Changle wants to capture Xiao Du and Xiao Di,”.

His voice shakes with fear. Empress Dowager Ming who was usually always calm instantly widened his eyes.

“You sure?”

The waiter nodded.

Xiao Du and Xiao Di were a pair of favorite swans of Empress Dowager Ming. They've been preserved for years. In this palace, the position of the two geese is higher than the servants. Empress Dowager Ming cared deeply for and cherished the two swans. He even made special cages and special servants to take care of them.

“Quick! Prevent him before it's too late!”

“Where did the two geese go?” ask Empress Dowager Ming.

“Princess Empress Changle said she wanted to roast the two geese. So, after being arrested, he took her home,” replied the two bodyguards.

Empress Dowager Ming's head throbbed again. He muttered, “My people! Quickly, send someone to pick up Xiao Du and Xiao Di back!”
