Section 149: Realizing the Trap

The change in the situation in the imperial palace had yet to reach Baili Qingchen's ears. He and his subordinates reached the gate towards the northern border city after traveling for five days.

“Liu Erniang poisoned Emperor Baili. Now the palace is in chaos.”

“Then what about Her Highness Princess?”

“She is fine.”

Baili Qingchen did not tell about the mansion being besieged by the imperial guard forces at Liu Erniang's behest. He also did not say that he was slandered and accused of plotting to revolt so that the mansion was sealed and all its inhabitants were not allowed to leave.
