The Lost Prince's

The Lost Prince's
Chapter 2 Exhuman (part 2)

"Eh?!” Two of Zero's friends turned their heads towards me. I was surprised to see someone else in the house. “Who...?”

"Say! The vampires who attacked Siverra...Where are they?!!"

"We lost track" said one of Zero's two friends. See if anyone knows they're twins. Really similar. Their voices are a little different. People who answer my questions are more friendly and mature.

"So where is it?! Where did you lose track of him??! How could you lose track of them? Do you know what they've done??!! You have to find him!!"

        "What would you..."

        "I'm gonna kill him"

I'm really furious. The memory of that day is still fresh. I cannot forget even a minute or a second of the horror that befell us. My anger's enslaving. It was as if inside my chest were embers of fire that woke up and re-burned.

Zero introduced me to them, briefly. "He was one of the victims of the attack"

The two twin boys looked even more surprised.

"Calm down first" said Zero who turned to look at me. "You're not..."

"You can't get in my way, Zero, or I'll kill you too!"

Zero took a breath. "You can't kill him"

        Whahuh? I glared at Zero.

"He's the pureblood that changed you. His blood in your body will control you and it will be impossible for you to kill him."

        "Then, then..."

"Let him kill you?", Zero cut. "That's what you want?"

Hmm!! What the fuck is this guy! Why is he acting so knowingly!! "You.."

        "He won't do it"

        "How did you know?!"

"He changed you because he didn't want you dead. He wants you to be his blood bag and toy. Your blood is what he wants. You have a special blood"

Blood, said. So my guess is right. "You're wrong. He wasn't after me" Zero looked at me not understanding. "She may be after my sister, but I told her I was the one she was after. So he bit me"

"Wait a minute, why would he want your sister?" Zero looked surprised. Well, it seems like he didn't expect this at all. So he doesn't know about Karen. I was still quiet for a few seconds

length. I'd better shut up or tell him.

"Because I can see the future" said Karen who I unknowingly was already standing behind me.

"Karen, wait.."  I can't believe he just said it.

"It's okay, brother. We can trust them" he said lightly as he walked to one of the sofas. "I'm Karen Wilder, and she's my sister, Keyra Wilder. It's good to see you guys. I can sit, right?"

"Yes, of course", replied one of the twins. He's not the one who speaks seriously. "I'm.."

"Shine Williams, right?" said Karen ahead. Somehow he showed off his abilities to these people. "And who's there your twin sister, Shane?"

"Wuah! Holy hooch! How..? I mean, do you really see the future?!" Shine looks amazed at how Karen knows their name.

Karen nodded with a smile on her face. Maybe he likes Shine's reaction. I approached Karen and sat down next to her. "What are you doing?", I whispered in Karen's ear.

"I know what you're worried about. But I want to trust them"

I'm out of words. I warned her but Karen insisted. It's weird, Karen's not like her usual self.

"Um.so, Karen and Keyra yeah. It's nice to meet you guys. You've been through a lot, but now it's okay for you to be safe here" Shine said.

I snorted bitterly, glancing at the two twin men. What is safe?!

"Sister, they're both human" said Karen who seemed to catch the look on my face.

        "Huh?! Seriously?!"

"You can't tell humans and vampires apart, and say you want to kill vampires. Unbelievable" Shane commented cynically.

"He's a new half vampire" Zero said.

"How can you prove that you're not vampires?"

"Have you ever heard of the sixth sense?", asked Shine.

I'm shaking. I don't know knowing anything like that.

Shinemendesah. "The sixth sense is the ability to sense and see auras. Everyone has a different aura. And the aura of vampires is usually darker and more concentrated. We call it shadow" Shine pointed towards Zero who looked indifferent. "Try to look around Zero. You can see it, right, something that seems to be standing behind him like a big shadow"

I focused my gaze on Zero. It was true, if noticed there was a shadow standing behind him. I don't know why I didn't notice it before. "So that's shadow?"

Shine nodded. "Shadow vampires. Well, now look at us. Did you see shadows like that?"

I turned my eyes to Shine and then to Shane. There aren't. As Shine said, I could feel their aura. But it's different with Zero. Their auras did not form a shadow that felt as dense as Zero's.

"Karen, can you really see the future?", Zero asked seriously. His face was still flat as usual, but his eyes looked different. It was as if a new candle was lit from behind his blue eyes.

        Karen assented. "I can"

"How can you see the future?" This time Shane who had chosen silence also asked the question.

"Well, that's hard to explain" Karen said. "I saw pictures like short films inside my head. And everything will happen as I see it"

Shine looks to exchange views with Shane. It was as if they were discussing through their eyes whether or not Karen's story could be trusted.

"So far as what do you see?" Zero's voice sounded lower and flatter than usual. I don't know why I feel the threat behind his voice.

"No punishing. I often don't know when the future will happen"

Zero's eyes did not switch from Karen. He rubbed the tip of his nose with his right index finger. It seemed like Zero was thinking about a lot of things. And for some reason I don't like it.

"So you can see a long-term future?" asked Shine to confirm. Karen nodded. "To anyone? Anywhere?"

This time Karen nodded. "Only people I know"

I think Karen was too rash to tell you all this information. They shouldn't even know this at all. Hasn't it been since the talent appeared that we agreed to keep it a secret in family members only. The corner of my eye caught a small change in Zero's eyes. A new expression darted

behind those brilliant topaz blue eyes. I don't understand the meaning of his expression.

"Where?" Shane repeats Shine's unanswered question.

        "Almost anywhere"

        "That's amazing" Shine muttered softly.

"So vanBlood knows it?" said Shane.

"He doesn't know. If he did then he wouldn't let her live" Zero said. "It's possible he only knew there was special blood in their family, but didn't know what talent it was and who had it"

"Then why did he attack?", I asked not to understand. If the vampires don't know, then why are they attacking our housing complex.

        "To eat"

Zero's answer made my hair stand up. What does it mean to eat? Is it just because of that

many people slaughtered? Shane and Shine also seemed annoyed by Zero's flat answer. Well, I guess they're on the human side.

"A lot of groups like that, vampires who do open and massive attacks. They don't care about anything. They did it just for fun" It felt like there was a deep hatred behind Shane's words. That hatred might be as great as my hatred for vampires.

Shine's eyes seemed to show sympathy. "Do you recognize the vanblood group, Zero?"

Zero shakes. "I've only heard the vanBlood clan has been cleared" Zero seemed to rub the tip of his nose back. "But Key, this doesn't explain why he changed you. He should have known that he was wrong when he drank your blood because we could tell a lot about someone's blood. But he didn't realize it. I think it's because of your blood"

        "My blood?"

Zero nodded slowly. "Your blood is special. Very tantalizing. And that's why your brother's fine now"

'Reluctive', he said. Well, Zero is also a vampire so maybe he's right. If vampires can taste blood then vanBlood should have noticed. If that happens, they'll come attack Karen. But it didn't happen. If it's because my blood lures vampires, then it's likely Zero's opinion that vanBlood didn't intend to kill me is also true. Suddenly I remembered the time the vampire had sucked most of my blood. He said something about being hers. He really wanted to make me his blood bag. He didn't intend to kill me for wanting to suck my blood again and again.

It's disgusting!

But if that's the only reason Karen's safe, I don't think I mind. Just let that vampire keep coming after me. I've been a vampire after all. Nothing is worse. I don't care what happens to me anymore. If it can distract her from Karen then I'll let her make me her target. Either vanBlood will kill me or I will kill him. Both do not hurt me. At all. But the chances of me finding the vampire's location are slim. It might be nil if I insisted on looking for him alone. Besides how can I defeat such a powerful creature. I need these people. Shine and Shane are vampire hunters. Their organization works to track and kill vampires. Or what they say is 'evil vampire'. And for whatever reason they classify Zero as a 'good vampire'. I don't think how good the vampires are or how cute the two hunters are until they can stay at home. Actually, I've been asking this. My head was unable to contain the curiosity, or rather, demand an answer from the absurd jokes of the hunter who befriended his quarry
