The knight's destiny

The knight's destiny
Episodes 10

Hot wind roared along the dry road, low grass without a single tree accompanying. Two hooded wanderers were seen walking under the scorching sun, both just a few meters away before reaching the borders of Reymin kingdom.

A vast kingdom with a wide river surrounding it, Reymin became one of the kingdoms with the best natural fortress. Reymin Kingdom or commonly referred to as the southeastern city is a kingdom of the human race located in the southeast of the continent of Midfraz. The Kingdom of Reymin was the kingdom closest to the continent of Gat’la, the floating continent inhabited by the Draga race and the Gigant race.

The access points of Reymin's kingdom are only four, namely the northeast gate, the southeast gate, the southwest gate, and the northwest gate. To pass through the river that surrounds the kingdom of Reymin, all who want to enter must pass through the path of the gate.

Luragorn and Lithia approached the northeast gate, the gate they passed through from the direction of the Beastman Districk. Several horse-drawn carriages and sightseers would pass through the same gate.

The river with a width of up to 1,500 meters makes anyone think twice about crossing the river without preparation. The land link at the end of the view is just a concrete bridge guarded by many soldiers.

The ten-meter-wide concrete bridge became the road that would bring Luragorn and Lithia into the kingdom of Reymin. Travelers as well as merchants lined up to be inspected before entering, including Luragorn and Lithia.

“Next!” exclaim the soldier in charge of searching.

The armor worn looked very simple with ordinary iron materials, revealing their low rank as lower-class soldiers. Some were holding spears, some were only armed with swords, and some were just holding a note and a pen.

The soldiers ransacked Luragorn and Lithia then let the two enter without any suspicion at all. That quick check was only to ensure the absence of spies or extremely rare dangerous weapons such as magic weapons or cursed weapons. Other than Luragorn's large bag and ordinary sword, the guards found nothing to suspect and eventually allowed the two.

Despite making it into the kingdom of Reymin, the two still had to walk a long way to get to the mainland at the end of the bridge. Fortunately, a horse-drawn carriage carrying merchandise passed by and offered a ride.

Following the flow of people's actions is the best way rather than hiding to remove suspicion, especially if you have to walk 1,500 meters ahead with the sun piercing from above.

After a two-hour ride on the horse-drawn carriage, Luragorn and Lithia arrived at their first stopover. A large city with a high castle and solid concrete walls.

North Reymin Outpost, one of the four major cities that became the fortress of the kingdom of Reymin. Unlike the southeast gate or the southwest gate which is directly welcomed by the urban and rural areas, the northeast and northwest gate must pass through the defense city first. The northeast gate with North Reymin Outpost as its defense city, while the northwest gate with West Reymin Outpost as its defense city.

It was almost no different from any other city in Reymin kingdom, it was just that the defense city was filled with many soldiers and information for the defense of the kingdom. And one of them could have contained information about Lithia being the princess of the kingdom of Midia.

Lithia's status as a hunted princess was not very influential in Reymin's kingdom, but Lithia's status as a cursed Luxorn family remained a scourge on the Midfraz continent. That is what these two travelers are so afraid of.

Luragorn and Lithia got off their ride when they had just entered the North Reymin Outpost or what could be called the northern defense city. Both of them walked casually while still wearing their respective hoods.

There were only large buildings and shops on each side. Some soldiers with iron armor sometimes walked around leisurely while chatting. Almost all societies are in upper-middle-class economic status, which is seen in the way they dress and speak.

The rather luxurious clothes with very polite conversation welcomed the comers from all over the place. Not far from sight, a huge castle loomed high. The castle that became the residence of the city lord as well as the last defense.

Some noble ladies wore beautiful dresses as their clothes. Walking around with the soldiers accompanying them, made Lithia pause for a moment to notice.

“Princess Lithia –,”

Lithia pulls Luragorn away looking for another ride to the next town. Without a word coming out from Lithia, even without any talk, Luragorn could feel a deep sadness in the moment he saw Lithia's gaze on the noble ladies earlier. He knew that Lithia longed for the royal days, but Luragorn simply kept quiet and obeyed the red-haired woman's will.

The sound of horseshoes stomping the ground was rather rocky, shaking the carriage he was carrying. The gun carriage and some forging equipment became the Luragorn and Lithia's ride this time.

Both plan to find information about the beastman assassin as well as a decent residence in the kingdom of Reymin. Of course there was no better place to start than the adventurer guild.

Adventurer guilds, gathering places of various kinds of adventurers or people with quite good military abilities where they would work on any given mission.

East Wings was a large adventurer guild in the kingdom of Reymin. Located to the east of Reymin kingdom, it became the only adventurer guild in the kingdom as well as the strongest guild in the eastern and southeastern region of Midfraz.

A small town with a large building at its center. The small buildings were the houses and supply stores of the adventurers while the large building in the middle was the guild building itself.

Luragorn and Lithia walked towards the guild building to register themselves as members. Both of them saw a wide variety of adventurers along their path. Several adventurers with four main classes adorned the scenery of the guild city.

Luragorn and Lithia entered the building and approached the reception desk. Both of them attracted the attention of all eyes, including the guild master named Lusy.

A woman with a height of 170 cm and a rather full body but still looks charming as a woman. Short dark brown hair. A brown tunic with some protectors attached to the body became his body cover.

Lusy the guild master approached Luragorn and Lithia to welcome the two as newcomers.

“Welcome to East Wings. Can I help you?” asked Lusy with a friendly smile.

Lusy stood up straight and puffed out his large chest. Luragorn remained silent while Lithia kept her distance and held her medium-sized chest.

“We want to be adventurous,” replied Luragorn.

“Heh .. I can see it,” said Lusy observing the sword that was on Luragorn's back.

Lusy watched Luragorn from the ground up and whistled at how valiant Luragorn was for an adventurer. The huge muscular body and a longsword on his back, made Lusy stare in admiration. Not long after, Lusy moved his gaze on Lithia who was still wearing a hood.

“And you? How about you little girl?” asked Lusy who suddenly lifted Lithia's hood.

Luragorn drew the sword and pointed it at Lusy's neck. Lithia's somewhat nervous face and long red hair were now clearly visible. Although Lithia's hood was open, but nothing could attract the attention of the entire eye other than the sword groaning around Lusy's neck.

All the East Wings adventurers stood up from their seats while holding their respective weapons. Everyone seemed to be wary of Luragorn who suddenly tried to attack Lusy.

Lusy turned his back when he saw Lithia as if ignoring Luragorn's threat. Lusy immediately apologized to the two and escorted Luragorn and Lithia out.

“Sorry, looks like you guys don't fit in here. Look elsewhere,” said Lusy pushing Luragorn and Lithia out of the guild building.

“Meet me in this place,” whispered Lusy to Lithia while giving a piece of paper.

Luragorn and Lithia were just standing in front of the guild building, staring blankly and thinking the next step to take.

“Lura, the woman gave this,” said Lithia showing a piece of paper she got from Lusy.

The cool breeze blew gently, carrying natural whispers and flying foliage. The field that was far from the guild city and the twilight sky became the perfect atmosphere for a fight.

Standing firmly, Lusy crossed both hands in front of his chest. A slightly serrated bronze gauntlet was attached to Lusy's arm. A wide smile and a straight look as if ready to face anyone.

On the other hand, a man with a longsword stood up with a hint of hesitation in his heart. Not far behind him was a red-haired woman who was also somewhat nervous about the situation.

“Do you not want to wear armor or something? You only wear ordinary clothes,” Luragorn told Lusy.

“No, this is more than enough,” replied Lusy while showing off his gauntlet.

“If I can beat you. We can be guild members, right?”

“Hah? Who said?”

“Then? Why give this challenge letter?”

“Not a guild problem, but more important. Is not so ... Princess Lithia?”

Luragorn was surprised then put up the horses and Lithia immediately retreated keeping her distance. Lithia stood not far from Luragorn and was alarmed after hearing Lusy's question.
