The House's

The House's
Don't Be Fooled

The atmosphere was back to normal without Madison noticing. The house was dark as before. Madison even fainted on the porch. He had just seen something that would give an answer to what had happened if he thought well of it and if he thought what he saw was a clue.

Madison's hand was on her head as she regained consciousness. There was nothing he could see because it was dark. Madison felt the floor like she was looking for something, she had not remembered anything. His body felt frozen, it was because he was lying there for quite a long time with quite cold weather.

"So, where are you?" there was a voice shouting Adel from inside the house. Using one hand, Madison rested her body as she was about to get up from the cold floor.

"Then!" Adel shouted back.

"I'm outside!" answer Madison. What the hell happened to him? Madison rubbed the part of her head that hit her, she tried to recall what had just happened to her. The open door distracts him. Adel came out of the room with a lamp, he immediately ran towards Madison who looked still dazed.

"What happened to you? Why are you outside?" ask Adel.

"A-I," Madison was like a daze.

"I was waiting for you in the room earlier but you weren't there. What are you doing outside and why are you sitting on a cold floor?"

"I fell down" replied Madison.

"Fall down? What are you doing outside and where are your cheats?"

"Uhm," Madison looked up at the floor where the lamp was. She still looked dazed, Adel approached her and crouched down nearby. The lamp was placed on the floor, Adel rubbed Madison's arm.

"What happened to you?" ask Adel.

"No, I thought I was going to light the fireplace and find some firewood but I fell on the slippery floor" Madison lied.

"Stupid, why don't you take me? Why do you have to do it alone?"

"I thought I wasn't long but the floor was so slippery that I slipped accidentally" Madison lied.

"Here you go, let's go inside. You're a coward, lest you see anything that isn't real so you assume what you see is real!" Adel was about to help Madison but Madison took the wait first. He thought there was going to be a fire but the fire had no intention of destroying the house. But is it true? Nothing is not consumed by fire but the house is like having its own defense. Though the fire was near the oil, it was impossible not to snatch. It was incredible.

"you see that, you're wasting oil when you know our oil supply is a little bit!"

"I'm sorry, '" Madison seemed to feel bad because she had already thrown away the oil they so desperately needed.

"Other times if you want to find wood or anything take me!" said Adel.

"Of course, do you believe what you saw, Madi? Don't be fooled because what you see is not real. You're just hallucinating and you're being confused by those demons so you're getting weaker that your soul is so easily taken away by it so don't believe what you just see because it can mislead yourself!"

"All right, thanks for your advice. Means the footsteps and the weird noises I hear aren't real."

"True, this house holds many mysteries so do not be easily tempted by any vision. I've been living it for so long and I understand what you're going through. Now go inside, we'll find wood together!"

Madison nodded in agreement, so all the visions she had just seen were the devil's tricks? Is what Adel said true? The bad events that he experienced over and over again, were they also the deceptions of the devil? The fear he felt, was it all unreal and Adel who was in front of his eyes, was it not real?

No, all the events that he experienced over and over again did want to make him even more frightened. The demon wanted his weak soul, he was sure the demon would do anything to make him even more frightened and the vision he saw, it was possible that someone wanted to help him. Whatever it was he had to figure out what the vision meant.

Madison had gone inside with Adel, they were sitting in front of the fireplace burning the book Madi had brought so they would feel warm. He should have done that without needing to be outside but if he did, would he have gotten that strange vision?

"How long have you been locked up in this house, Adel?" ask Madison.

"Let's see, time stops for me. As you are experiencing right now, I am experiencing it too. Everything is dark, there is no light. I did not see sunlight after that day. I tried to get out of this house but I came back again and again. There's no place for me, I'm already tied to this house. I don't even remember how I got to be in this godforsaken house!"

"You don't remember?" Madison looked at Adel for a moment and ripped the book off before throwing it into the fire.

"Okay, I told you I don't remember at all. All the situations I have experienced are always the same. You're going to do the same thing that you don't know how long you've been in this house!"

"If so tell me, how did you get to be in this house? I'm sure you couldn't have stayed in this house before because it's a long way from the city and far from anywhere!" ask Madison again.

"Why do you ask that?" Adel looked at him with a suspicious look.

"I-I just want to know. There's no way you're thrown from another dimension, is there? You must have come from somewhere, you must have come here for a reason. So tell me, why are you in this house?" he really wants to know.

"Let's go, I don't know!" Adel sighed, he did not remember where it came from.

"What do you mean don't know? Have you lost your memory?" Madison was curious.

"I don't know, I always wake up in a dark basement. What I experience always happens over and over again. I don't know where I'm coming from, why I'm here and why I'm locked up in this house. I, too, like you, experience the same thing endlessly. All I remember is how I killed my sister and both my parents. That's all I want and do you know what it's like? I'm really crazy to face every situation the same!"

Adel looked down, he looked sad. Madison only notices, everything she sees in the house is not real, that's what Adel says but she believes what she hears from Adel is not her hallucination alone. Adel's laughter started to sound, the longer it got louder. Madison closes both ears tightly, it seems Adel wants to drive her crazy like she is and she should be able to find a way before she goes crazy like Adel.
