Special Blood: Slyther's

Special Blood: Slyther's
I eavesdropped and got caught

It's been a week since I've been in Green Grass Housing. Now I'm doing my routine every day which is practice. Together with Alicia, Arka, and Justin I trained in a very spacious backyard–maybe the size of a football field. Our training this time is: Instinct training. Both my eyes were covered with cloth, while the three of them threw me something and I had to avoid it.

I'm still confused as to what my training was all along. Exercises that are like torture, where my body is really forced to continue to face extreme situations. Like for example: Running in the morning without wearing clothes for hundreds of meters with cold air that is very piercing the skin; climbing trees hundreds of meters high, which know-how there are dozens of giant monkeys; wrestling with Justin, which in the end I battered and many others.

Buuk!

Something hard hit my back, and it was sticky. I didn't know what they were throwing at me with, which must have been something that really smelled bad. Training instinct? Truth be told, this exercise is more like bullying. They keep throwing me things. I kept dodging, rolling around, jumping around, just a lot of obscure things that I kept doing.

Butwhat? all my moves are free.

"Use your instincts, Killa," said Arka, "Don't just roll around indistinctly."

"How!" my protest, "You didn't teach me at all. You guys are just torturing–"

Buk up!

My stomach was thrown. So sick! followed up by two shots on my back and on my shoulder. I coughed before raising one hand. "Wait on! can you guys be a little softer!'

"That won't help at all," said Alicia, "Use all your five senses, watch the direction the attack is coming from. Hearing, that's the key."

"Yes, okay." I took a deep breath, trying to concentrate.

I'm trying to maximize my hearing. The voices began to sound clear: The sound of my breathing, the sound of wind blowing, the sound of footsteps, everything was very clear. My hearing became sensitive, from the direction of three o'clock I heard a strong gust of wind and it was pointing at my head.

I tilted my head to the left, the voice just passed by beside my ear. "Good," said Alicia, "You managed to dodge my attack."

I smiled broadly. I succeeded! it was the first attack I managed to avoid. Before anything about my chest.

Buuk!

"Don't be proud of yourself yet" Justin said.

That hurt so much! My chest immediately felt tight. It felt exactly like the kick of an old man I met in the woods, a week ago. At that time I was looking for a way home–tersesat– and met with a burly old man. We fought, even though I fainted in the end.

And when I woke up suddenly I was back in the Green Grass Housing, inside the room I had previously occupied.

From inside the room I heard a very clear conversation coming from the living room.

The conversation of Fredic and someone whose voice was like the voice I'd ever heard.

I got up from the bed even though my head still felt very sore, throbbing, and twitching. I decided to go eavesdrop.

I walked out of the room without sound–opened and closed the door very slowly– I walked and stopped at the end of the stairs. Where the stairs are directly connected to the living room, and from here I can see Fredic talking to an old man I met while in the woods.

"... So I mean the red moon is very close" Fredic said.

Fredic nodded. "Good, Dad. I get it." After that Fredic looked down at the end of the stairs. "Killa, come. I know you're there."

I gasp. How could? I am sure I hid properly. Does Fredic have a special alarm when someone is eavesdropping? I finally showed up on the stairs. Then walk down. The old man continued to look at me with a sharp look.

Up below, Fredic immediately asked me, "Did you hear all of our conversations?"

I'm shaking. "No, just a little bit of what I heard."

"Hey boy!" sergeant the old man, "It's not good to eavesdrop on people's conversations!"

I was immediately bowed. His words were so strong that it made my body tremble.

"Easy, Dad. Don't scare him ... Oh yes, Killa. Before that I would like to introduce: He is my father. You can call him Mr. Ares." Fredic smile.

"Or maybe “Old man”." Mr. Ares looked at me sharply.

I jerked. It seems Mr. Ares wants to make me look bad. Well, our first meeting was no fun.

"From what you did earlier, what can you catch Killa?" ask Fredic.

What did I do just now? meaning eavesdropping? I was scratching my head that wasn't itchy. "Eh... That's... Red moon and resurrection."

"really. Red moon and resurrection. And that refers to you, Killa. When the red moon arrives the power within you will rise, an incredible power. There are many enemies out there who will use that time to steal your power. Awakening time is the most vulnerable time for you, Killa. So we decided to secure you somewhere."

"Where is that?" I asked.

"A very distant place, further away from Green Grass Housing. Where it all started." said Mr. Ares, as if there was the deepest meaning of his words, visible from his face.

"Remember this, son," Mr. Ares looked at me. "When your strength rises, don't obsess over your power. Something excessive is not good you know."

I just nodded, though I didn't understand much. I glanced at Fredic, his face as if implying a deep sadness.

I don't know. What will my resurrection look like and what power will I have. I was a little excited and scared of it. Like when I was going to compete in an SD time badminton tournament.

"I'll go, take good care of the boy Fredic." Ares closed his eyes, as the air around him spun fiercely, lightning sparks circling Mr. Ares' body, before he suddenly vanished from sight.

I gaped to see it. I saw the place that Mr. Ares was at–g glance at Fredic–and looked back at the empty place. A magic? nope. It's more action than that, or maybe: supernatural power!

Fredic chuckled before saying. "Movement techniques you know? Almost all the Slythers ruled it."

My eyes shine. "You will soon master it, too" said Fredic, as if he understood the contents of my head.

Come to think of it, I don't think it's bad to have supernatural powers, even though I have to be hunted. I can't wait to see it.
