Nathan had no choice. He shrugged and turned around. He cannot fight his master.
Cassie hasn't gone to school to train with Nathan since the last time. They had met several times during the morning practice, but none of them had tried to come to talk. Cassie and Cameron.
Cassie had tried to talk to Cameron, but to no avail. Cameron was so angry that when they asked him to train with Cassie on the first day, they decided to allow Cameron to use the sword. Cameron pretended to be evil and disappeared for about half an hour. He had to fight with the Crystal who, at least, spoke to him.
That morning Cassie was ready to face her destiny. He got up early, took a bath, had breakfast with his mother, and hugged her before leaving. If it was the last day she saw him, at least she had left her mother with a smile even though she knew she was worried about her mother.
"Please be careful Casalia!"
"Don't worry mom, everything's gonna be okay!" Cassie smiled and hugged her mother.
"I love you mom and thank you for everything!k
"Come on, don't do that! I love you too, dear."
The only thing that doesn't calm him down is his situation with Cameron, but at least if he gets caught and taken away, he knows he has tried.
For everyone it was just one day of training, but Cassie knew better. Cassie was the first to enter the large room where they were training and saw all the Westledes Family arranged in the large seats in the back of the room. No one noticed it, no one except Morgan. Morgan was sitting next to an old man with large gray eyes that were somehow similar to Morgan's eyes. Morgan also wore a long black robe, like all the ancestors of the Westledes Family, and a red W letter was painted on his chest. Morgan also had the same symbol on his armor. It was George Wistledes, no doubt.
Upon entering the large hall, Cameron did not believe that the Families were there for them. He knew that the practice would continue for a while but he did not understand why they were there to see them. He is still angry at Cassie, but at the same time he hopes with all his heart that nothing has happened to him and everything will go well today.
He looked at Cassie, standing in the first ring with combat gear. At that moment Cassie turned around and smiled at him. Cam looked down and turned around.
"I've got to talk to you." Nathan puts a hand on Cam's shoulder and drags him out without him being able to resist.
"What do you want?"
"Cameron! Stop, okay? You're mad at him, I understand. But do you at least know why he did it? Do you know why he lied to you?"
Cam doesn't understand why Nathan told her these things.
"No matter what, whatever the reason that made him lie to me, it's not necessary! I'll understand, I'll help him!"
"And how? You can't help him, Cameron! No one can... Today he is in grave danger. His family is here to see him and they don't even know he's one of them. He should carefully measure his strength and try to stay calm...Do you think it's something that's easy?"
Nathan's right. Why didn't he think about it?
"What are we doing now? Who was he fighting with? He dropped me too... And I'm a good fight!"
"He will fight with me or that is what is expected. Robert will speak well and we have a good chance that it will work."
Cameron nodded and quietly moved away from Nathan. He went to position himself with all his team-mates and look for Cassie in the crowd. Cassie was right in front of him and she could not see his gaze, knowing him, Cassie looked expressionless. He had acted foolishly and would kick himself for it. All he could do right now was believe that everything would go according to plan.
As soon as the team was formed, Robert White explained to the Westledes family that Cassie would be up against Nathan as they were strangers and almost all of the Westledes family agreed.
"But Nathan is level higher" Cassie turns around and realizes that it was the man who had spoken, the old man sitting next to Morgan.
"Master, Nathan is the only one available" Roberr explained in a desperate voice Cassie had never imagined. Robert looked like a stern man, yet at that moment he looked really worried.
"That's not true, my niece can even fight him" Then she turned to Cassie, she looked at him mischievously.
"There's no hard feeling of a little flower, but I got the impression that Nathan was going to knock you down in thirty seconds while my niece was a true gentleman!"
Robert first looked at Nathan who, despite trying not to reveal any emoi, he turned pale, and then at Cassie, who was expressionless.
Cassie knew that this man was challenging her and if she refused, the man would probably make fun of her.
"It's okay for me" he said returning a look.
The man smiled and pointed at Morgan to approach him.
"Go, son, and show me the power of Wistledes!"
So Cassie wasn't wrong! It was really his brother, not just his feelings. As the boy approached, he looked one last time in front of him.
Robert tried to keep the atmosphere calm and peaceful, but the sweat on his temples showed that he was quite nervous while Nathan was now motionless, as if he was not affected at all.
Someone passed Cassie and put her hand on her shoulder.
"May it work!"
Cassie turns around and when she sees Cam smiling at her, she wants to hug him, but she doesn't. He can't be weak, not now. He took a deep breath and took a position. It was time to show his ability.
"It shouldn't have ended like this" Robert said slowly.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine. You said it yourself, didn't you?"
But Nathan wasn't sure what he was saying. Nathan tries to follow Cassie when she comes home in the days after their last practice together, but then he realizes she looks like a madman, so he stops.
Now Cassie is here, facing a boy who looks just like her and is just different in her behavior, and she seems indifferent, it was as if the man knew all along that he would be his opponent.
Cassie watched Morgan, she took a deep breath and moved in front of him. His hair was neatly tied back and his eyes were fixed on Morgan, as Nathan had taught him. He slightly bent his knees and waited for his opponent's movement.
Morgan is a skilled fighter, but he knows that Cassie is strong. On the one hand, Cassie hopes to give up, at least no one suspects, but on the other, she hopes wholeheartedly to give her best, like he did on the last afternoon when he was training.
Morgan lunges at Cassie but before she can touch Cassie, Cassie has punched him in the face. They started to swirl around waiting for each other's movements. Several punches and kicks followed, but none fell to the ground. Morgan looked tired and sweaty, but Cassie was expressionless, as if she had not done anything up until now.
"Come on Cassie, show her what you got." At that moment, Cassie heard Cam, she turned around and looked at him. The glasses are dark, but even so Cassie can't forget the color of her eyes. However, the movement was extremely detrimental to him.
The impact was painful but not enough to distract him. Cassie jumps before she can attack again and starts fending off. Just like with Nathan, Cassie is on the edge of the canvas. He can decide whether to be shot down or do what he has done with Nathan. If he allowed himself to be beaten up, everything would be fine, but he did not want to be considered a wolf apprentice and be beaten, nor because he was no ordinary wolf. He moved quickly and stood behind Morgan. There was a moment of silence and she felt that all eyes were on her. He wrapped his arm around Morgan's neck and started squeezing. The boy started to squirm, but he did not let go.
"Do you want to kill me by chance?" morgan said in a whisper.
Cassie smiled "Not today!"
Cassie let go but with a slight push Morgan fell face down in front of the chair where her grandfather was sitting. Everyone watched the scene impressed. No one said anything and for a moment Cassie thought that a scary moment had arrived but it was not. Mr. Wistledes started clapping and all the founders followed suit. She turned her head towards Nathan who was actually smiling at her for the first time, and then Cassie looked at Cameron, Cam showing an expression that showed astonishment and admiration at the same time.
"You are a nice little flower! You have a familiar face! What family are you with?"
"My grandfather is Ai Weber, I'm not from around here."
"Weber... What's your father's name?"
Cassie's expression changed "Oh, I never met her."
"Oh and why?"
"They killed him just before I was born."
That night, after reconciling with Cameron, they go to celebrate Robert, Nate and Kristal also come with them.
Cassie tried to sound indifferent, but she was actually proud of herself for the first time in her life. One day he decided to go home. He was quite tired and just wanted to rest. Meeting a relative had left him deeply shaken, but at the same time he had not found anything familiar in him. His gaze was without any feelings and his movements were cruel to say the least.
When Cassie enters the house, she senses something is wrong. Her mother always turns on the lights when Cassie hasn't come home, but this time it's different. There was a strange smell, a smell that was not so familiar to him but quite familiar. The first thing he did was go to his mother's room. Even in that room the lights were off but he could see the figure of his mother lying on the bed.
