11 Chafter.
The freedom of Bilqis is not welcomed by me. I left, leaving behind everything that was once a memory. A ticket for Bandung I bought. I am determined to continue my life with Aunt Mira or my birth mother.
“ Forgive mom.”
That's the word I remember when I sat waiting for the train to arrive.
“ Maybe mom is not a good person. I hope you can forgive mom and Bilqis.”
I was silent when my mother said that. All I thought about at that moment was leaving them.
“ I'm sorry mom.” I said. My tears are falling. I rubbed it with my hand. If only, I had not met doctor Raiyan. Maybe me and my mom stayed together.
The train station began to pile up the passengers when the destination of the train to Bandung had arrived. I stood up from my seat. And go to the train.
In the car. I'm looking for my seat. When I found him. I saw the middle-aged man sitting next to my seat.
“ Excuse me. “ I said.
The man just smiled.
I sat down and looked out the window. A few minutes later, the train began to move, and drove towards the destination. My heart ached, a feeling I couldn't seem to shake as if it was raging. I wanted to cry, but I could stand it. I was afraid that my tears would invite the question marks of those around me.
“ Not good to hold back the sadness. If you want to cry, cry.” Said the middle-aged man.
“ Sorry.” I said embarrassed.
“ You have any problems?” Ask.
I'm shaking.
“ Sometimes being an adult is not easy. We have to survive if we want to, and vice versa. If we don't want to have it, we can run away and escape from reality.”
Probably right! I said in my heart. I threw my eyes at the window. Dark, only the night lights are visible. My tears were dripping, I started crying.
The man next to me pulled out something. He handed me his handkerchief.
“ Take.”
“ Thank you “ said.
“ You are alone.”
I'm nodding.
“ Not good girls traveling alone.” Said the middle-aged man.
I just shut up. Not wanting to chim in or open a conversation. My sadness made me not want to talk to anyone.
“ Do you want to listen to my story.” Said the man. It seems he got tired of just being quiet and not talking all the way.
“ What story?” askaku.
The middle-aged man smiled. And then look back to the front.
“ I'm a lousy guy. Because, my mother's revenge. I could have impregnated the son of my father's second wife. And when she was pregnant with my son, I left her.”
Hamdan's mother knew his husband's nature. Can only be sincere and resigned. Hamdan did not accept his father's carelessness. That night when his father brought his new wife. Hamdan meets Mira.
The cute girl dimpled The pipit, had a plain but cute face. Hamdan was nervous when his father asked him to show Mira's room.
Mira smiled as hamdan showed the right room opposite to his room. With great joy he thanked.
“ Thank You, Brother Hamdan. “
Mira runs around and plays her mattress like a kid who just got a new toy.
“ You like your room.”
Mira nodded.
Hamdan was indeed from the beginning ill-intentioned. The innocent Mira, never suspected him. At the beginning of the year, when the celebration of the new year's night. Hamdan took Mira around.
Mira unsuspectingly, follows her stepbrother with her innocence. His village attitude clearly made Hamdan sneer. His father's faults seemed to be poured all over Mira.
New Year's Eve is just a few seconds away.
5,4,3,2,1....!
Everyone cheered for the new year to come. Mira also blew the trumpet that had just been bought.
“ Happy new year, Brother Hamdan.”
Hamdan smiled and pulled Mira's petite body into his arms.
“ Happy new year, Mira.” Hamdan. He then pulled his chin and kissed Mira's cheek.
Mira's speechless. He can't say anything. But, he also did not forbid Hamdan to pull back his body and kiss him.
“ What do you do?” I asked by cutting the story of the middle-aged man.
“ Yes.” Answer.” I snatched her chastity on New Year's Eve.” Said again. A regretful voice sounded from his tone. Then suddenly she cried.
“ What after that, you left it?” I asked again. Because, I don't think the story is finished yet.
“ Right, I left it to Jakarta. In Jakarta I continued my studies. But, I don't understand. Why is there no Khabar if Mira is pregnant.”
“ Then, from where do you know if the girl is pregnant.” Cut me again. I'm curious about the story that's still not so clear.
“ 5 years ago. Before my mother died. My mother told me about what happened after I went to Jakarta. And he also said, if Mira's mother accuses my father of impregnating Mira.”
I fell silent looking at the middle-aged man.
“ May.” He continued his story again. “ Now he is the same age as you.”
“ Why don't you search for them?” Ask again.
“ I've been looking for it for a long time. But, I didn't find it. I wanted to apologize. And want to see my son.”
“ You are selfish.” My word. “ If I become your child who is treated like that. Maybe I won't forgive you.”
The man was full of regrets. I saw clearly her guilt enveloping her.
