Excitement on Independence Day

It was a very hot afternoon on Saturday, August 17, 2013. I, along with my friends Rina, Eka, Ratna and Ratih, get ready to take part in the independence day celebration event which was held starting from the kp route. Neglasari – kp. border, whose distance is quite far.

Among the many competitions that I participated in, the race that entered the final and most memorable was the sack race with friends, it was difficult when it had to jump using sacks, and the most memorable was the sack race, automatic stepping that we do must reflex so that balance (balanced), and I try to balance it, at least my participation in this race.

All the participants of the sack race are ready to listen to the warnings thrown.

“Siap... start!!!” shouted Mr. Eman as a warner.

Five minutes passed to reach half of the road that had been passed, suddenly one of my friends, Eka next to me, fell right in front of me, making it difficult for my steps to jump, Eka tried several times to get up but it was very difficult, probably because her legs were sprained so that it made it difficult for her steps to stand up, finally Eka was forced to quit the sack race and just become a spectator in the crowd who watched the race. I had started to move away from the place earlier and managed to jump up following Rina, my two friends who were in front of me apparently jumped so fast, I also did not want to miss to quickly get to the finish line.

With all my strength I tried to jump quickly, but unfortunately my speed began to weaken, Rina who was behind me now began to move forward following me, not there, not there, I tried to increase the speed of the jump even faster and I finally made it through Rina. Now my target should be able to get through the 2 people in front of me, namely Ratna and Ratih, but I also have to remain vigilant in case the Rina behind me manages to get through me again.

It is heavy to gather back the energy that is still left with sweat pouring on the forehead, as well as the heat during the day, I ignored by still focusing on chasing my 2 friends who are in front. The stepping speed of the two of them was so good that the few times I added stepping speed, their stepping speed was getting firmer. Truly great I also need an extra stepping speed to be able to match them, with some energy still left and the spirit of 45 in accordance with the independence day that is being celebrated, I finally made it through Ratih, my target was only one more person, Ratna. With the finish line remaining a few more leaps away, I tried to catch up to Ratna, but my speed was weakened perhaps due to exhaustion and my strength drained quite a lot, not unexpectedly Ratna also managed to get through me to the finish line and came out as champion 1 in the final sack race, then I as champion 2 and followed by Ratih as champion 3.

“Congratulations your Rat is indeed great!!!” my spoken.

“Content ya!, You are also great!” his reply.

“Sama-sama, thanks!” reply back.

Although this sack race is not so proud for some people but for me, the happy memories of the joys tucked in it are so exciting, funny and memorable.

The race was over after all the participants and spectators of the race returned to their homes.
