REMPAK: The Destruction

REMPAK: The Destruction
Part 13: Heavy Back Bag Contains Its Life Load

Airi checked her luggage back. He counted the clothes that have been included, cleaning tools, to the supply money he will carry.

Finally, the most awaited day Airi and Akane had arrived. The girl smiled sincerely as she looked at the piece of tickets to the theater stage beside her.

The stage starts tonight. Airi and Akane are leaving this morning. After the stage, they plan to take a short walk in the Northeast District, then book a boxed hotel once on rent. Tomorrow, they will continue to walk around and book a bus ticket home at noon so that it is not too late.

It was at least 6 hours away because Akane decided to go on an inter-city bus. It can be longer if it gets stuck considering they are away on the weekend.

However, Airi could not contact Akane from yesterday. The girl was the most excited. Supposedly, he sent dozens of enthusiastic sentences to his phone, asked innate questions, or just talked about how impatient he was.

Airi was worried something might happen. Despite not knowing how Akane was doing, she packed up anyway. Just in case they're really gonna leave.

He typed a quick message on Akane. Ask if his friend is ready.

"Akane? Are we leaving today?"

"Why didn't you call me from last night?"

But, there was still no reply until a few tens of minutes later. Airi decided to head to the inter-city bus terminal first because they promised to meet there. To be more impressed adventure, if Akane reasoned.

Akane could've been there and accidentally turned off the phone. He was full of surprises and strange ideas.

Airi took the bus number 45 which was directly up to half an hour in front of the terminal entrance. Airi carried her backpack, splitting the sea of humans. He held tight the print of the bus ticket he had booked online a few days ago.

After walking around for a few minutes and still not finding Akane anywhere, Airi sat in a long chair near the ticket locker.

The feeling is starting to feel bad. Why isn't Akane here now? There was not an hour until their bus left for the Northeast District and they had no time to waste. Is Akane playing hide-and-seek or what?

"Akane, where are you?"

"I've been at the terminal since."

"Akane, are we leaving today?"

"Akane?"

Airi couldn't have gone alone. All of this is Akane planning. It would be a big regret if it did not materialize considering how Akane had even bought a show ticket, booked a bus seat number, to choose a hotel where to spend the night.

Akane didn't stop talking about it for two weeks, there was no way she would just cancel it. Without telling Airi that she had already persuaded half to death? Fictitious.

Airi bent her body with her head turned to and fro. His phone was held tightly. He activated his entire senses, hoping to help in finding Akane.

Oh, come on, Akane. No kidding. Airi sat here for over ten minutes. The girl started sweating worriedly. His eyes unsettled glancing at his backpack and mobile phone in turn, hoping he would find a reply from Akane there.

"If you don't make it in ten minutes, we're off the theater."

"Akane, the bus driver won't wait if you're late."

All Airi messages are left with sent status without an answer. He swore, if Akane didn't show up in a thousand, Airi would come back home.

Airi got up, she looked out with her long lehed. The girl found that the bus she was supposed to ride later was already neatly covered. Some people queued in, while others lifted their luggage into the garage.

This was not yet half of a thousand count, yet they should have also stood in that place. Actually, what's Akane doing, anyway?

Starting to believe that her best friend would not show up today after dozens of grills without being picked up, Airi decided to put her backpack back on and walk out of the terminal.

The ticket he cantongi, has been shapeless because it was squeezed too tightly since it was waiting for Akane with a feeling of unease.

His cell phone notifications were empty, as was his heart without motivation.

Airi thought of many things along the way home. Was he so unpleasant as to be a friend that Akane decided to cancel their one-day trip? Did Airi happen to hurt her heart yesterday until she thought about leaving again?

Is Akane sick so she doesn't have time to contact him?

Airi's heart was scratched imagining it was all true. She was the only friendship she had. How will Airi go back to looking for a partner after this if she always keeps people away?

What makes things worse is that Airi doesn't know where Akane's house is. He could not find an answer, had no one else to give him an answer.

Airi sighed tiredly. He rested his head on the road signpost near the stop. His bag was heavy on his back, his heart was burdened to the point of collapsing.

Some people glanced at him pity because now he looked like a lost tourist, when he was a native of this district. Perhaps, now that was lost was Airi's feeling.

He was not disappointed that he had canceled the theater (it was Akane who wanted to watch it), he only felt more down when he recalled that his life from the beginning had never been flat like this.

Airi must have had too much fun spending her day with Akane without Jizo's distractions lately until she fell asleep and forgot. Forgetting that Airi never pocketed that sobriety in her fate pocket.

Airi slumped to a crouch with her body still leaning on the marker pole. Ah, now someone might actually call the police and say he's a legal immigrant because of his looks.

Airi's heart was weakened about her friendship with Akane. Thinking that this ended right in front of her eyes scared her.

Airi shook and went back to look at her phone. Where exactly is Akane? Airi stared at the road in a daze. I hope someone gives an answer. Expecting his worries to be untrue.

However, his hand rolled on his father's message column. His finger touched letter by letter slowly. His eyes were still dry, and he wanted to cry.

Say that Airi is overkill just because one plan of playing with someone else fails. If this isn't Airi, they might just make another appointment and decide a new day.

But, Airi had never experienced about this. Is not coming on H day without notice a natural thing for others as well? Airi's question roared noisily in her heart.

"Dad..."

And the message was sent. Read in seconds by Royo. Making Airi even more unable to rise above her limp legs.
