Gotania (Part 1)

"The number of people traveling on the road increased as we approached Gotania."

"We meet one or two groups every hour or so and we get a lot of attention because of the long queues of captives tied to our trains. Some of them even deliberately called to ask if the captives we had drawn were bandits, to which I replied firmly."

"Beck and Thor were in front in the driver's seat while me, Cleria and Tarus-san were sitting on the trunk. Cleria sat at the very back so she could keep an eye on the captured bandits."

"I am relatively free so I asked Tarus-san many things that made me curious.

Gotania turned out to be a large city with a population of about 20,000, and achieved prosperity by becoming a center of trade and commerce in the Kingdom of Belta."

"I've heard about the guild from Beck and the others. They are organizations that officially register people from different trades such as adventurers and traders. (“If you are a guild member, your guild certificate will serve as your pass. If you are not registered anywhere, you will have to pay a fee and get a temporary permit instead.”)

"After we left the guard post, we immediately headed for Tarus-san's house. A graceful looking carriage was parked in front of the station with someone who looked like a butler waiting beside him."

"The views of the city of Gotania seem to be made of the same reddish-brown bricks as the city walls. There is a sense of harmony about it and it is made for beautiful scenery. The night was about to arrive and there were many people wandering the streets of the city. There were all sorts of people; from housewives coming home from shopping to young men eating at roadside stalls. Gosh, I also want to try eating at those stalls."

"People were shocked whenever the carriage passed by and hurriedly gave way. Well, they might avoid it because the train is big and they don't want to get caught up in an accident. But it seems like Tarus-san has a considerable influence in the city based on the attitude of the city guards earlier. Looks like I'm really lucky to have managed to save such a person."
