Controller 1 (Part 3)

"That was amazing! The fire arrow released by the Cleria was not an ordinary arrow, but something with a tracking feature added. I can't believe Cleria did it!"

"Well, that's a bit rude of me. I believe he managed to achieve it through his previous meditation to strengthen his image. That's pretty impressive. I didn't even think to do that. It seems like I was subconsciously bound by common sense as well before I realized it. I have to learn from this experience."

"Beck was shocked when Cleria suddenly cast a spell and stopped the carriage. Cleria and I got off the train and took the rabbit. It was a nice bunny, round and plump. Rabbit meat is quite hard, so I have to drain the blood immediately."

(Beck and Thor are again making a big fuss. Cleria once again maintains her “cool and calm” actions. His lips twitched to form a half smile. Anyway, we had dinner alone!)

"The train drove until almost night, and Beck finally stopped when we arrived at what looked like the camping spot he mentioned earlier. It was an open space right next to the highway. There was a small stream of water dripping down from the nearby stone wall, forming a pool beneath. This seems like a great place to camp for people who can't use magic to make their own water."

(“Let's rest here for tonight. There is nowhere else to set up camp here,” advises Beck.) 

(“Good. I'll go and prepare then. Stay alert, Ria.”) 

(“Understood.”) 

"Gathering firewood for a campfire was easy because we were in the middle of the mountains. I'll go collect again. I managed to complete the task without much trouble."

(“What food do you pack, Beck?”) 

"Let's check the food items for now."

(“All food is in this bag.”) 

(I was given a rather large bag. It was packed full enough. The items are dried meat, lots of bread, potos, salad leaves called “sappa”, a wide variety of other vegetables, salt and dried spices.) 

(“No problem with the quantity. But I want to avoid the use of preserved foods as much as possible.”) 

(“Are you going to cook, Alan-san?” Thor asked as he approached. Beck is busy dropping off some luggage.) 

(“Ya. I really like cooking. If you guys are okay with that, allow me to prepare dinner tonight. ”)

(“Then I'll help too. Should I start preparing rabbits? The people at home said that I was talented enough for that. ”) 

(“That sounds good. I'll hand it to you then. ”) 

"Tonight's menu is rabbit meat sauteed with potos and a wide variety of other vegetables as well as a rabbit meat sandwich. I want to eat bread before it hardens."

"I'll use all the rabbit meat. If there's leftovers, I'll save them for breakfast tomorrow."

"Let's start by washing vegetables. Thor started slaughtering rabbits. It seemed like he wasn't kidding when he said he was good at it."

(“How do you want me to cut the meat?”) 

(“Iris is small enough to eat in one bite. I plan to let you guys finish everything tonight.”) 

"Rabbit meat is almost entirely of the red variety. Therefore, there is no meaning in separating it into parts."

(“Outstanding! It's gonna be a party tonight, too. I never imagined I could eat that much meat again so soon!”) 

"I also helped cut the meat, because the rabbit was quite large. I wonder if this is enough to satisfy Cleria's appetite."

"I put the meat in a big pot and seasoned it. The spices I use are a lot of garlic, seasonings, salt, and pepper. Since rabbit meat has a strong smell, I had to use a lot of flavorings to fight it."

(“Where do you want me to put the fur, Alan-san?”) 

(“Isn't it okay if you just throw away the fur?”) 

(“Eh, but it was very futile. This is a very nice rabbit fur. You can sell it for money. Well, it might not sell too much. ”) 

"No, thank you. I don't know how to prepare the feathers anyway."

(“Then I'll give it to you, Thor.”) 

(“Big! Thank you very much!”) 

"I want us to have dinner early, but Beck asked for a sword practice session. Thor joined in, too."

(“May I ask you to teach them the basics, Ria? I'll hand it to you. ”) 

"The two young men had prepared their own wooden swords. The Cleria first taught them how to hold the correct sword. The sword practice session continued for about an hour. It seemed like their sword handling skills were slightly improved compared to before."

"Because it's getting dark, I think it's time for dinner. The meat should've absorbed a lot of flavor from the seasoning."

"The two young men cheered after Cleria lit a pre-made fireplace outside the makeshift room and placed in the middle of the field with fire magic."

"I first fried potos in a large frying pan brought by Beck. After frying it for some time, next I put the meat."

"When the meat starts to brown, I go on to add other vegetables. In any case, I want to maintain the crunchy texture of the vegetable. With this, the dish is done."

"I served a large portion of the dish on a large wooden plate carried by Beck. It turned out to be more than I expected. All right guys, dig!"

"Everyone put some food on their own plate. I proceeded to heat the bread that had been cut into two pieces in the frying pan."

"The three of them stared curiously at what I was doing. After the bread was slightly charred at the edges, I immediately took it out of the pan. They managed to absorb a lot of oil and looked great."

"I put some sappa leaves on warm bread and poured a lot of meat in between. With this, the rabbit meat sandwich was finished. I put sandwiches on each of our plates."

"Ups. I almost forgot to boil water for tea too."

"All right! Come eat! I'll start with meat. Yeah, that's delicious. Rabbit meat is also a type of red meat like the Big Pig, so it tastes really good."

"Whites, spices, and pepper in large quantities successfully eliminate the fishy smell of meat. Looks like marinating meat with them manages to do the trick."

"Next is a sandwich; a combination of lightly baked tender bread that absorbs a lot of scented oil from the frying pan, crunchy sapodilla leaves, and delicious stir-fried meat. That's, of course, delicious."

"Everybody eats like crazy. They seem to like their cooking."

"It looks like Cleria didn't even manage to finish the meal this time. A large amount of stir-fried meat remained. Let's eat for breakfast tomorrow."

"I made green tea after eating from the leaves that Zack packed with him."

(“Men! That's delicious, Alan!”) 

(“Do you use a lot of salt and pepper? It's my first time eating such a fancy dish!” Thor asked.) 

"Yes. It seems that salt and pepper are valuable commodities. By the way, they don't use much pepper in the village's food, so it tastes a little lighter."

(“Ya. I'm glad you guys like it.”) 

(“Of course we do. It was so fun! Why don't you open the store when you get to the city?”) 

(“Cooking is just my hobby. I don't want it to be my main job.”) 

(“OK. But can you keep cooking for us during the trip?”) 

(“It's okay, I don't mind.”) 

(“Ah yes!”) 

"Beck and Thor cheered loudly. It's late at night. How about we go to bed now so we can get up early tomorrow?"

(“Go and rest, both of you. We'll be on guard.”) 

(“But...”) 

(“It's okay. After all, we are your companion. We just do our job.”) 

(“Understood. Thank you.”) 

"I told Cleria that I could detect if something was wrong and wake up using my magic, so she went on to sleep without worrying as well."

"With this, the first day of our journey ended without much difficulty."
