Rebuilding Civilization
Practicing Magic (Part 1)

"God of Corinth went hunting today as well."

"I was able to engage in some simple conversations with Lord Corinth lately. I really enjoyed talking to him."

"Lord Corinth was amazing. He quickly memorized every word and phrase and only needed to hear it once. It's fun teaching him because he's a fast learner. His proficiency in my language increased at an impressive and almost unbelievable rate."

"It's been about nine days since we came to this makeshift headquarters. I can walk on my own by dragging my injured leg to the ground."

"Lord Corinth took my leg protectors out of his bag and returned them to me. Somehow, I feel very happy. Lord Corinth has always been very considerate of me."

"However, I was also confused about how exactly I could repay his kindness."

"He asked me what I wanted to do after my leg healed yesterday. He made me decide if I wanted to continue the journey after my leg had completely recovered or wait until my hand healed as well. It seems like if we continue the journey, we will not be able to enjoy the food as we have been eating, so the recovery of my hands will take longer."

"I don't even have to think twice. I chose to stay and wait until my hands healed and my body completely recovered. I don't want to always be tied to Lord Corinth's protection like when we were attacked by monsters a few days ago. I want to be able to fight with him, side by side."

"It's hard for me to always rely on Lord Corinth's care, but I've sworn an oath to Goddess Ruminas. I swear I will definitely return this favor someday."

"So, I have to get stronger. I practiced the sword form that Lord Corinth taught me after I gathered firewood from the riverbank. Once my legs have completely recovered, I can practice more effectively."

"Looks like Lord Corinth has returned. He took Big Boar with him."

(“Welcome back, *Lord Corinth. ”)

"Ts: This code is the sign → (“..... ”) to show the conversation bubble."

(“ I'm back, Cleria. ”)

"Just the act of exchanging greetings like this has made me feel very embarrassed. I never welcome anyone back other than my family. Also, I only noticed it when we started having the right conversation, but Lord Corinth always used my first name whenever he called me. Even in noble society, the only one allowed to call the opposite sex by a first name other than family was one's fiance."

"I don't think Lord Corinth was more than his act, but shameful things are shameful things. And while I'm preoccupied with such thoughts…"

(“Cleria, call me Alan. Not [* Lord Corinth]. Well?”)

"He told me to directly call him by his first name as well. I heard this once from Fal. It seems that it is currently trending for men of low nobility to ask a woman they like to call them by their first name as a subtle way to express their feelings. I understand that Lord Corinth did not actually mean that. Maybe that's the way things are in Lord Corinth's country."

(“Alan” I gently called him.)

"Lord Corinth looked delighted and nodded back at me."

"Lord Corinth went on to slaughter Big Boar in the style of a professional chef."

"It never crossed my mind when I was in the capital, but I actually thought I wanted to learn how to do things like this as well. Let me try to learn. I'm really looking forward to eating Big Boar meat again!"

"When we returned to the base, we saw that the bonfire had been extinguished. No fine! Lighting a fire is one of the few things I can help. I interweave mana and use magic to rekindle the bonfire. Lord Corinth seems rather surprised by what I did."

"Cleria, what was that?"

"I wonder what that means. I just used the Fire spell to rekindle the campfire, that's all. Oh, maybe he was surprised about how short it would take for me to cast my magic."

"Yes, I may not really look like that, but I am actually a pretty accomplished witch. I was even told that I was already qualified to become a palace magician. But the only system I'm good at is fire magic."

"I explained it like that to Lord Corinth, and he seemed satisfied with my answer."

"Now it's time to cook Lord Corinth. I'll eat until I'm full today!"

"Lord Corinth became very proficient in my language not long after. We started chatting more and more, so I took the opportunity to ask what had been on my mind for the past few days."

"How exactly do my arms and legs heal?"

"According to Lord Corinth, he summoned the invisible little spiritual beings with the naked eye who were inside him and made them enter my body as well. He then asked them to heal me."

"To be honest, if I heard anything unreasonable from someone other than Lord Corinth, I would most likely doubt them."

"Of course, I truly believe in the existence of the familiar spirit goddess Ruminas. But something like holding a spirit in one's body is completely contrary to common sense."

"In spite of this, I still believe in the god Corinth. A great and noble person like her could not possibly be less favored by Goddess Ruminas."

"The member of my recovered body is proof enough that he can actually speak and beg the spirit to hear his wish."

"First of all, only divine power could possibly do something like recover a severed limb."

"Lord Corinth seemed to notice some fear in my expression. He suddenly took out his knife and cut off his arm. His actions were so fast that I didn't even have a chance to stop him."

"However, only one or two drops of blood flowed out from the wound, and it healed at an astonishing speed, visible to the naked eye. After a while, not a single scratch was visible. This was absolutely impossible even with the use of high-level healing magic."

"Looky! She was truly favored by the Goddess and her spirit!"

"Did I also receive heavenly favors through Lord Corinth? I don't doubt it in the slightest at this moment, but somehow I want to try it myself."

"I took the knife and cut myself the same way. Lord Corinth did not move to stop me. I felt the pain for a moment, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. My wounds also closed. How amazing!"

"Ooh! I have also received the gift of the Spirit! I tremble with excitement."

"Lord Corinth then asked me what I wanted to do with those spirits after my limbs healed. He could ask them to leave me or make them continue to stay inside me."

"I choose to keep them inside me."

"This strength is necessary for me in the future. There would probably be enough people who would even sell their souls to gain such strength."

"Lord Corinth simply nodded in agreement, as if it was just a simple matter. I am once again indebted to the god of Corinth."

"Finally, after a few days, my legs recovered completely. It's good to be walking on two full legs again."

"According to Lord Corinth, I needed to take frequent walks to get used to my newly grown legs. It feels pretty stiff. It'll cause trouble as we continue on."

"I walked along the riverbank with Lord Corinth. After we took a walk for a while, Lord Corinth asked me something."

(“Hai Cleria, can you do other things besides the one you used to light the bonfire last time?”)

"Ts: This code is the sign → (“..... ”) to show the conversation bubble."

(The way he said it was a bit strange, but I understand what he meant. He seemed to ask me if I could use a spell other than “Api”.)

(I guess he wanted to make sure what magic spells I could use. Of course I am happy to obey. I don't want Lord Corinth to think I can't cast another spell other than “Fire”.)

"Let me throw a Fireball. I managed to put it in after fifteen seconds or so. That was a relatively quick casting time. Lord Corinth looked surprised."

"I want to show her more magic spells, so next I use the Flame Arrow. It took me thirty seconds to throw it, which was my best time so far. I hope I managed to impress Lord Corinth with that."

"I also use Firewalls, but I can't maintain them for long. Lord Corinth also looked surprised by the Firewall spell. I told him that these were all fire system spells I knew. He then asked if I could cast any other kind of magic."

"I showed her water magic. Lord Corinth seemed to be the most surprised and impressed when I chanted the Water spell. How humiliating. A lot of people can cast a basic Water spell, and I don't think I'm chanting it guarantees such a reaction."

"After that, Lord Corinth asked if the water I produced was drinkable. How strange. Even young children are aware of the fact that the water produced by the mantra can be drunk. I said yes to him."

"Maybe Lord Corinth didn't really understand magic?"

(“Um, can you also use Alan magic?”)

"I'm still not used to calling him by his first name. It really makes me feel so embarrassed."

"He answers with actions, not words. He raised his hand towards the river."

"Very fast! He didn't even take ten seconds to throw the Fireball. And he didn't even say the word mantra."

"I've heard that very talented individuals can actually cast magic spells without using words and with open eyes."

"He paused for a moment to think, and when he raised his hand again, he threw three fireballs simultaneously!"

"What did he just do !? Considering the magic activation process, something like simultaneous casting should be impossible!"

"While I was stunned to be silent, Lord Corinth raised his hand again. He immediately released another Fireball. How fast!"

"The ball of fire exploded as it hit the river water! After a loud explosion, water gushed and splashed towards Lord Corinth and me, completely drenching us."

"Lord Corinth showed a guilty expression and grinned wryly."

"Is that perhaps the legendary Explosion spell !? I've only heard it mentioned and haven't witnessed the truth until now."

"This is the ability of someone favored by Gods! Such power!"

"I became stiff from the shock for a while."

"It seemed like Lord Corinth's magic show was over, and he turned around to return to headquarters. I ran after Lord Corinth confusedly, wanting to ask about that final fire spell. However, Lord Corinth simply avoided my question with a half-hearted answer."
