Looking back on my first life, there was a day when my life was plagued with terror that haunted me for several months.
The day some of the population lost their lives to a terrible plague. Initially the disease came from a village called Owikya in the north of the capital, where some villagers there had secretly contracted it and transmitted it to the capital via a trading train.
This disease attacks the body's immune system and makes the sufferer's body weak to be unable to move, if it is serious then death can approach the sufferer.
How could I forget that? my inner. It would be a nightmare for Weldemort - no! Worse than that. The outbreak will spread throughout the Oregon kingdom and result in mass deaths that will never be forgotten in the future.
Surely the royal family will not remain silent when they hear this news. I thought back. No, they won't go that far.
The royal family will not hesitate to dispose of the entire village of Owikya, if this plague cannot be controlled.
"It's so hard." I muttered.
I can't do much. I mustn't look too clear, I'll be joining forces with Mary and the others to conquer an A-level dungeon soon. At that time, I needed to hide my strength.
"If not.." I murmured. I'll just be a tool for some people.
"Sister!"
Suddenly, a voice woke me up. I looked to the side and found that Rudy was looking at me anxiously, he was holding the edge of my school shirt. I also breathed. "Well...."
"Why is sister daydreaming? Is there something you're thinking about?"
"Nothing at all, Rudy" I said, lying to him
"Bad to lie! If it's not there, then why are you thinking so hard that you don't hear if I've called your name a few times."
"O-Oh really? Ma-I'm sorry brother then."
At this point I gave up. I don't think Rudy is a stupid or innocent child, he's different from a kid his age. His life so hard must have changed the mindset of this little boy. But I am grateful if he did not become a criminal at an early age, many street children who ended up being pickpockets or thieves.
"No need to worry!" he said, smiling at me. "I'm sure that my mother will recover soon."
Certainly, Rudy's mother was a very lucky woman. He's lucky to have had a kid like Rudy, he's so honest and kind.
"May God answer your prayers, Rudy."
Looking at Rudy who was smiling with bread crumbs on his lips did not make myself loose from my mind. Will she smile back if misfortune befall her mother? What happens if his mother-no! I can't think like that.
Then I realized that I still had bread that I had not eaten in my hands, I immediately ate it. The honey and wine that flowed on my tongue seemed to make my body become energized again.
Ah... It's so delicious! There was no way nobles could taste food this delicious. They usually do not eat food made by commoners, fancy cuisine will be a daily meal and breakfast for them.
But then an idea flashed through my brain. "Rudy." I went to Rudy.
"Yes?"
"How's your mom been doing recently?" ask him. It would be better to ask her mother's condition now.
"For now he only coughs, but his body is easily tired. The fever hasn't completely gone down either."
If his mother had a little money at least he could buy a healing potion. But the herb in the Oregon kingdom is still not quite powerful enough even to treat Basilisk Fever though, but it can inhibit a little symptoms.
Healing herbs with a high healing rate were very high in price and it was very difficult to find the person who sold them.
"Did your mother come out of the house often?"
"No, he doesn't go out of the house often. I've never even seen him visit the capital."
"Never?" I said with a question mark, Rudy nodded.
My curiosity increased, thinking about the nature and likeness of Rudy's mother. Should I go see him and see his health?
"Rudy."
He was staring at me. "Yes?" he said, biting the bread while his eyes were still locked on me.
Cutely.
"Is your home far from here?"
"In fact, Owikya village is about 2 and a half kilometers from the capital of Weldemort. So it'll take at least 25 minutes to get there."
I don't think about this kid. Did he spend 25 minutes just walking from Owikya to Weldemort begging and making money? Distance is not something that can be reached for children of his age.
"Are you not tired?"
"What? Walk from home to here? Of course not!"
"You're a kid" I said, as if I didn't believe it. "Well, a boy like you could walk that far."
I glanced at him for a moment, he looked so sullen when I said that to him. There is no harm in seducing an 8-year-old.
He said in a mocking tone. "You challenged me?" He jumped up and stood up with his hands together he put them on his waist.
"I can beat you in a running race if you want."
"Really?"
"You think I'm lying!?"
"Okay okay I believe you. Actually I just wanted to ask if I could pay a visit to your house?"
"Huh?" His expression now changed drastically, he was no longer pouting like earlier but was staring confusedly at me. He glanced at my feet before his gaze went up, our gaze met.
"Is something wrong?" I asked, as long as he remained silent. Visiting his house is a bad idea.
But before I thought any further, Rudy cheered. "Of course!"
"When are you going to visit my house?"
I thought again. I can't keep myself busy for things outside of school, if I leave class again then it will be a big problem for me. The principal would definitely not stay silent and would not hesitate to call my parents, even if they were not my real parents.
"How about two days from now? I can't leave class at all, there'll be a school exam soon. So I have a lot to learn." I said.
"It's okay, where will we meet?"
"Here."
"You mean in the town square?"
"Alright" Rudy said without refusing a single bit.
"Then, will you be able to meet me in the afternoon in front of the entrance gate of the magic academy?"
"You mean the big old building standing over there?" Rudy pointed behind me, where the magic academy can be clearly seen from here. It would not hurt for him to call the building "old" because the academy was around hundreds of years old.
"true."
"For what? After all, the guards will throw me out."
Ah, I didn't think about that. The stranger who tries to enter will be instantly expelled from there, let alone my inner child. How can I give him that stuff? An idea popped into my head.
"Well, you wait for me across the gate. I'll go out and see you, there's a gift I want to give you."
"Gift??"
"That's right, do you want to?"
"Of course I want to! Then I'll see you later this afternoon!"
Rudy immediately turned around and picked up his bread basket. He took a few steps back before running towards a road.
"Wait-Wait-huh.he's gone."
His body quickly disappeared behind the buildings and the crowd. For a child as small as him, the stamina he has is very strong. I turned to stare blankly up at the sky, it was sunny today and there were no black clouds at all up there. There was no way I could relate an ordinary thing like this to something that would happen in the future.
It's free if I expect something to happen.
But fate is before my eyes. Soon a bird will come out of its cage.
...***********...
"It's your fault you know!"
"Why do you keep blaming me?"
"It's because of your actions that we were abandoned by Elizabeth to know!"
"Well... Rather than you continue to blame me, we'd better find Elizabeth now. After all, the break is almost over."
Florence and Samuel were not done with their quarrel. Each of them was unwilling to budge and still blamed each other. Free they look for solutions, there is a solution that will ignite their quarrel even worse.
"Well... How do we find him?" samuel said with a tired tone. He had been walking for quite a while with Florence beside him, looking for his friend who had left them both.
They've been looking for Elizabeth everywhere, but the results are still nil.
"Did you find him?" asked Florence, looking around the area.
"Not at all. Too many people, I can't see Elizabeth anywhere."
"We've been looking for him since and I haven't had lunch. It's all your fault!" Suddenly Florence screamed and pointed rudely at Samuel.
Of course, the man was wide-eyed at the behavior of the girl in front of him. Samuel thought hard. How could he be side by side with such an annoying demon beside him? If Elizabeth had been here, she would have been a shield to him. But Samuel remained firm and did not want to ignite the fire between them.
"Keep and continue to abuse me. If you're hungry, we'd better get some food, come on!"
"Hmmm!"
Florence was a waste of face, but not for long. He opened his eyes and something caught his attention. But when he saw what he saw, his mouth opened wide with a bad feeling that might happen.
"Samuel! Samuel!"
"What else? You still mad at me?" asked Samuel lazily.
"Not that! Look that!" Florence went to great lengths to bring Samuel's gaze in the direction he pointed.
Finally he turned his face and looked at the direction that Florence pointed. He could not believe what he saw, and his mouth was wide open the first time he saw it.
"Isn't that Prince Alexander with Ellise?"
The two figures who are chatting with each other are certainly not wrong anymore are them. The two of them could not possibly forget the appearance of the girl who often quarreled with Elizabeth first. Ellise reluctantly hugged Alexander's arm, but the man did not seem to hesitate if the girl hugged his arm. Moreover, after that both of them laughed cheerfully at each other.
"What are they doing here?" asked Florence, hiding herself from being discovered.
Samuel watched the movements of the two men, until he thought. Why did Alexander spend time with Elizabeth's arch-enemy? Is there a special relationship between the two of them? Nah! That's not possible.
But what do they see now? Alexander is the fiancee of their friend Elizabeth, and now with their own eyes he is walking alone with the enemy of their best friend.
What the fuck? inner Samuel. What did Prince Alexander think? Doesn't he know if he's engaged to Elizabeth. Why do they make out with other women and.... Why should Ellise?
"Can't be left." whispered Florence as she clucked furiously, staring resentfully at the two of them. "How could he relate to another woman while she was engaged to Elizabeth!? Is this the reason why Elizabeth's attitude changed slightly from usual!? I won't let it!"
In a fit of rage, Florence tries to hit the two lovebirds. Samuel pulled his arm and brought him back to his original position. "Aah!" Suddenly he shouted as the man pulled his arm forcibly until he almost fell.
"What are you doing!?"
Florence stared at Samuel. Of course he felt pain when the man pulled him, but what did he get? When their eyes met, Samuel's gaze was not much different from his. He looked at her furiously as if he was holding back anger. But a few seconds later all the wrinkles on his face loosened, looking much calmer than before.
Samuel shook. "No." he said briefly and continued. "We must not interfere in the affairs of our own friends. I know that we both feel the same way inside of us. Just a little spark that lit up, we're gonna be in big trouble. Know who Ellise is, we don't have the strength to fight her."
"But-"
Florence's words were withheld by Samuel who immediately covered the girl's mouth with his hands.
"We better get out of here and forget what we saw. If you want Elizabeth not to hear this, then just shut up."
Florence could feel the same way in Samuel. Unlike her, she was so brave and did not hesitate to stand in front of a weak person, no matter getting hurt or not. He could understand the meaning of his words, if only Samuel did not hold them back surely a slap would float on Ellise's cheek as well as Alexander's, which would eventually trigger even greater trouble.
He finally relented. "You're right" he said after removing Samuel's hand.
"We better get out of here."
"alright. Just forget all this stuff, okay?"
Okay." okay."
The two of them left carefully so as not to be seen by the two creatures.
