Chapter 21's

The goblins took him into the forest. Eli continued to follow where the dwarf would take him, seeing he ran so fast he knew that the goblin was no ordinary goblin.

He was agile like a serpent and his run was swift like a horse. But can he beat my speed?

Eli simply smiled as he focused his gaze forward.

[Skill: 'Sprint' activated]

–Dash.

His speed had now surpassed that of the goblin, Eli was able to pass through it and stop its movement.

"Where do you think you're going after trying to kill my friend?"

He stood up while showing his Leviathan sword.

He wondered why the creature was just standing in front of him while carving a smile. What exactly was he planning?

"Khikk..."

He chuckled and sure enough something happened.

This feeling...

It seemed that the goblin was getting a little help from some monsters. Eli could feel their presence around him, and they numbered quite a lot.

The sound of their footsteps rang out simultaneously from within the darkness of the trees.

"They."

Lycan, monsters that are almost like wolves but in reality they are different. They have a hunting instinct and a much stronger sense of smell than wolves.

"How can these goblins get help from them? Did he purposely bring me here and be their dinner?"

Goblin and Lycan never get along. They often fought for territory over each other. Their battles are often heard in the Heskard region but, for the past few months there has been no information about the infighting between goblins and lycan.

Is it possible that they have agreed to combine forces?

"Grrrrrr!!"

"Khi-kurk!"

Now he was surrounded, but Eli was not so afraid.

He took the horses and said, "Just be!" he raised his sword.

The monsters did not stand idly by anymore, they jumped up and ran towards Eli.

Because they were wild beasts, they did not possess any magic energy, unlike the Fenrir he fought. The savage beast was easily able to cast a powerful ice magic yet, in the end Eli was able to defeat it.

–Slash! A slash! A slash!

Although they attacked Eli simultaneously, their attack patterns were so easy to catch.

Their bodies fell down after the system went off. For tonight it seems that Eli is not able to sleep quickly.

"Groahhhhh!!"

"KHUAKKKKKK!!"

[Skill: 'Cannibal' activated]

Eli put his Leviathan sword in the inventory after activating the 'Cannibal' ability'. His nails and his teeth tapered, he stared intently at the monsters floating in the air ready to attack him.

He rushed to swing his sharp nails.

Crushes. Slashwas.

The forest was filled with the sounds and howls of death from the lycan, adding to the horror atmosphere inside. And the only person standing on the corpses of those monsters was a girl, with her body covered in blood she stared up at the sky.

The goblin fell silent while staring at the body of the girl who had killed the lycan. Filled with fear as the girl looked at him with her eyes.

He tried to escape from there.

"Khikkk!"

–Slash!

A sharp object floated up and directly hit his back. The goblin fell to the ground.

[Skill 'Cannibal' level up]

At just the right time Eli threw his Leviathan sword.

The sword slid and instantly made a hole in the goblin's back. Eli came down from the pile of lycan corpses he had killed. Every time he walked, his footprints mixed with blood from the corpses of monsters.

"It's a good thing that I learned the technique of throwing knives, I didn't think that technique would be used in this condition." He took out his sword which was still stuck in the goblin's body. "Yet..."

Ever since he fought the lycan with his Leviathan sword there was something he could not forget.

"Is it because the size of this sword is quite large, so I find it difficult to swing it? I don't know why I'm so stiff in using it."

There was something Eli needed to pay attention to in his sword fighting technique and he knew what to do.

"It seems that I have to train again" he said, clasping his sword tightly.

These are the moments Eli has been waiting for, committing looting.

He took some parts of the goblins that he could sell later. When finished he turned around and again cut off the body part of the dead lycan.

"Done" he said, putting the Leviathan sword back into the inventory. "It seems that's all it is."

Upon seeing that nothing was left behind he quickly put all his loot into the inventory. Eli did not have time to sell all his loot now, he remembered that his study time was so much and there were still tasks that he had not completed

The rain accompanied by the thunderous sound of thunder broke the atmosphere.

The rain soaked Eli's body from face to foot. "Why did it rain so hard?" he said, looking up at the sky.

He seems not to care much about his wet school clothes and has been stained with blood.

Is this the mortal world I have visited? But why does this rain feel so real and I can feel every drop of it?

The rain disguised his emotions, closed his eyes for a moment and allowed himself to stand pecking beside the corpses of the lycan. Eli was lost in thought, remembering all the words of Erendriel and Visati.

"They're right" he said.

"You're all right. I've slept for so long and it seems I've been lulled in all the enjoyment I've had all along." Eli lowered his gaze, closed and opened his eyes again. "All this is.not real."

—Glarrrrr.

Lightning boomed over the black clouds, its white radiance illuminating for a moment.

Eli woke up after hearing the sound of footsteps nearby. Then, he took a thousand steps to enter the forest.

A few minutes later, a few people came from behind the trees. They were all stunned by what they had encountered.

"Geez!"

A pretty strange sight, several corpses of lycan-type monsters lay piled up in front of them, plus they had been skinned and retrieved some parts of their bodies.

"Helena are you sure the girl went into the woods?"

"I'm sure! He's after the goblin that almost killed me."

Helena was lucky to meet Mr. Alber, as well as her other colleagues. Lou was beside her, becoming her guard.

Lou ran fast through the school corridor, even closing his eyes.

He cannot waste much time while his friend is in danger. He must be quick.

His breathing grew heavier he had run for five minutes without even taking a breath. He was so scared and worried about Helena.

—Buagh.

"Aah!"

"Ouch!"

He screamed when he clashed with someone. Because he was running so fast, the impact made him fall on the floor very hard. But luckily he landed using his butt even though he grimaced in pain.

"Awwww!" ringis Lou, try to open her eyes.

"Lou? Is that you?"

"Mr Albert?"

Knowing the person he hit was his own teacher, Lou forced himself to stand up and bow to Albert.

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Albert! I didn't mean it!"

"Hey! Oi! Already, what's wrong with you? Why are you running around like you're being chased by someone?"

"Actually...Helena.."

"Yes? Why with Helena?"

"Please, Mr. Albert! Helena is in danger! He's fighting a bunch of goblins in the backyard!"

Albert shuddered at Lou's words. How can there be goblins at night like this?

"What did you say!? Don't joke Lou!"

"Do I look like I'm joking, Mr Albert!? Helena's in danger and you're saying that I'm kidding you?"

The atmosphere was getting tense, Lou could not hold back his emotions. He could not stand by when Albert thought he was joking. But at the right time, a woman appeared out of nowhere.

"Albert? Miss Lou? What are you guys doing these nights?"

"Fortunate!" lou shouted, running towards madam Celine and clasping her hands tightly. "Helena is in danger, madam!"

"What happened son? You get sweaty and your face turns pale like this. Just calm down for a moment."

"How can I calm down if Helena is in danger!"

"What exactly happened?"

"The goblins attacked us in the backyard and now Helena is fighting them alone there!"

"What!!?"

Celine could not shrink her tone, she looked at Albert who was just silent behind Lou. He seems so angry.

"Sir Albert, why are you quiet? Our children are in danger and you just stand idly in front of me!"

"Pardon me, Miss Celine. I thought Lou was just kidding earlier–"

"Basic fool!"

Celine immediately pulled Lou from there, Albert who saw Celine's anger could do nothing but follow her. They all immediately ran towards the backyard and sure enough.

"That voice.."

"It sounds like an explosion."

"That must be Helena!"

The three of them instantly increased their speed, at the same time two disciples were passing in front of them.

"Both of you!" shout Celine. "Come with us to the backyard!"

The two disciples were Lou's comrades, the supervisors of the academy who seemed to have finished with their task.

"What's going on?"

"I don't know, we'll just follow."

Moments later, they heard footsteps coming from the opposite direction. They paused for a moment, a girl came out from the dark hallway and passed directly to Celine.

"Damelene!"

"Mrs Celine?" Helena approached them.

Lou walked over to Helena who was holding her left arm. He seems to be hurt.

"Helena, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine, you don't have to worry."

Celine approached Helena and directly used her treatment magic to heal Helena's left arm. As she treated her arm, Celine said, "What exactly has happened?"

"The goblins.they suddenly came out of the woods and attacked Lou and myself. We both managed to defeat a few of them however, one of them called for reinforcements and finally we tried to escape."

"And you're trying to fight them alone?"

"I have no other choice! Just as I was about to be killed by one of the goblins, a girl suddenly appeared and chased him into the forest."

"Girl?"

Celine and Albert stare at each other before returning to listen to Helena's story.

"A girl you said?"

"That's right, he used his sword out of nowhere and directly repelled the goblin's attack. Odder still, as I stared at the girl, somehow the killing aura from her was so strong that it made me tremble in fear."

Helena's words were very hard to believe by all of them especially Celine. He wondered who the girl who helped Helena was, even to the point of making herself tremble in fear.

Albert then approached and asked, "Do you know the girl's face?"

"I don't know. But clearly he chased after the goblin and went into the forest!"

Celine was instantly worried, she immediately looked at Albert at that moment. "Albert we don't have much time left, the girl's life may be in danger right now."

"I agree with you."

"The four of you, come with us. Helena show me the way."

"Good!"

The four of them ran towards the backyard. They could not let the life of a disciple die just like that, if that happened then it was certain that Celine, Albert and the others would get into trouble.

Whoever you wait for us, son.
