Princess Fighter: Search for the Throne
Chapter 92: The Heart of a Girl

Gouruk

Since there were only ten of them at this moment, Mriga could clearly see some familiar faces within that small group.

Vaishali gave him a polite nod and now stood a bit away. On the other hand, Vindhya was followed by some 'his henchmen' and placed right in front of the office. He seems to be very confident in the outcome and rightly so. The one who looked anxious was Yuvati.

His body language showed that he was bracing himself for the worst results. Since there were only two zilla heads in the capital at the moment, he went to both.

His family never took root anywhere and as a result he could not play domicile cards with a zilla head. Worse, his interview did not go well and by the time he came out, he knew in his heart that he had not yet managed to grab it. To be honest, he knew that he really lacked the QIT quality and his achievements to date were also a surprise for both him and his parents.

By the time the gurukul officials came to put up the notice, all the girls except Vindhya had become jelly masses.

Result -

The three finalists are:

Vindhya Kumari – 2 votes

Mrignayani – 1 vote

Vaishali – 1 vote

Audible*******the collective heard in a previously deserted corridor. Three finalists instead of four?

Not only is it unfair that Vindhya has received a vote from her father, the other zilla heads have decided to give her the seal of approval.

Who chose Vindhya despite having the option to choose from the remaining pool because her candidacy was predetermined?

Is this their way of showing that he is the most favored candidate among all?

Vaishali did not care about anything else at the moment. His heart was filled with gratitude to his dead father. When he goes to meet the head of the Southern zilla, Ujjwala devi, he learns that his late father and Ujjwala were not only friends of the class but he even saved his life once during their school days.

During his interview, the head of the Southern zilla had interrogated him extensively on various topics. At the end of the session, the woman did not promise her voice to Vaishali but the young girl appeared at least with a glimmer of hope from there.

Now it seemed like he had done well during that interaction but still, he was able to attract the attention of the woman due to the benevolent actions of his late father. He wiped away the tears that came out of his eyes and turned around, only to bump into Abhirath. His eyes lit up but he shrank backwards as if doused in hot water by hot tea.

With an incoherent mutter, he stepped around her and walked forward. Pain and confusion clouded his eyes, but he said nothing. He could see her sideways profile and the slow smile that spread across her face after a while was wide enough to pierce through her heart. He came late into his life.

"Not bad! It seems like there is a chance that we will produce QIT from our group of friends," Nirbhay told Mriga when Abhirath came and ruffled her hair.

He resembled a proud parent of this time whose son had exceeded everyone's expectations. Yash also smiled but there was a shadow in his eyes, invisible to others.

She wanted to know if the voice for Vindhya had disappeared from her mother. Asking himself from the group, he rushed out.

.

Himprayag

Shaurya was not used to being cared for and that too in such a magnificent manner. Despite her various protests, she has been 'helped' by some giggling servants in the palace section of Princess Ahilya. Known for her cruel ways, the princess almost never brought back male guests or even male servants.

Now that he did and was handsome, they were unwilling to let go of the opportunity. Shaurya looked towards the ceiling helplessly, as he sat in the pool soaked in flowers in thin underwear.

Never in his twenty-plus years of existence did he imagine that one day he would fight to save his body from a wandering hand.

She knew that the princess did this as a 'good-natured act' to atone for her mother's behavior, but she would rather be shackled in that cell than be forced to endure this fragrant discomfort.

But he did not dare to act beyond the limits. He was unable to disappoint the princess or anyone in Himprayag until an agreement was not signed between the two countries.

"Guruji... Where are you? I want you to come and save me," she lamented inwardly, missing Bela more than ever.

.

Capital city, Chandragarh

"Himprayag's air seems to suit you, Charulata didi," Prithvi smiled as he bowed to greet his mentor.

They waited at the golden-plated gate of the palace. The dawn was just about to dawn and after receiving the coordinates of the meeting, Bela freshened up at the nearby inn in the capital before reaching this place.

"Why do you want me to meet the queen? I could have handed this to you and taken a nap while you signed the imperial edict," he exclaimed, not responding to Prithvi's remarks.

Not only was he tired after remaining extremely vigilant for hours, he even had to disguise himself to come to the palace. Prithvi is very careful about Bela's identity while making her the center of attention.

There were many eyes and ears in the palace, but he had many reasons to make the two women meet at this moment.

Due to the presence of Prince Mithilesh in the palace, the whereabouts and purpose of Bela's visit became even more important to remain hidden.

.

And that was why, Bela was dressed like an old man and was now standing with a deliberate humpback, waiting for permission to enter. She apparently plays the role of the famous vaidya who is here to check out the queen's 'old disease.

The opening of the royal gate saved Prithvi from having to give an answer to Bela's question.

They walked slowly into the rocky courtyard which was lit by torches and large lights on both sides of the road with lush lawns outside them.

This was the first time Bela had met the queen and although she entered after a successful mission, she felt a little nervous. She really hoped to see her daughter on this trip, but Prithvi's earlier message told her to keep this visit a secret.

Bela doesn't know what's going on behind the scenes, but as an active agent on the pitch, he inevitably follows his orders. From here, he will return to rest and then travel back to Himprayag with the foreign minister who will bring the decree.

"Welcome Belavati or would you rather be called Charulata?" the queen greeted the younger woman with respect.

Bela was surprised but did not give an outward reaction.

The room was already 'cleaned' with the queen ordering the entire room to be vacated a few minutes ago.

He shrugged and replied without much change,

"I am Chandragarh's humble servant. My name doesn't matter."

Rani Samyukta smiled. He is the one who insists on this encounter but then realizes that even the sly head of Suraksha Chakra wants him to meet this agent for some secret purpose.

"Thank you for coming here despite a long and difficult journey. I would like to congratulate you personally on your successful handling of this important mission in Himprayag. Besides, I was very impressed with your parenting skills and values. Your daughter has impressed the people of Chandragarh in the past month. I have great expectations about her future," the queen sat in her comfortable seat and showed that Bela should do the same.

Bela's heart swelled with pride at hearing her daughter's appearance from Rani Samyukta's lips. It felt like the entire exhaustion and stress over the past few weeks was coming out of his body and yawning continued to maintain his steadfast expression. Except for a polite thank you, he did not give any further reaction.

Rani Samyukta asked for a brief summary of the events in Himprayag along with her personal impressions of the king and princess.

Although the goal of their cooperation with other countries has been achieved, the queen wants to have a direct account from the partner country. As Bela finished speaking, the queen remained silent for a few minutes.

After a while, he said,

"Please send a message to Princess Ahilya on my behalf. Tell him that I said - the wind howled around the highest peak".

Bela soon understands that the queen is asking princess Ahilya to be a humble person in the coming days, at least until she is crowned the next king. It was the perfect message to send to a young woman standing on the verge of significant development.

Bela's next thought is that whoever wins the QIT contest will be very lucky to be a mentor under Rani Samyukta.

He's amazing!

Himprayag

Shaurya had never felt 'clean and fragrant' like this moment. Standing uncomfortably in the silk clothes that had been provided for her, she longed for her worn and comfortable cotton kurta. He was waiting for the princess who had not appeared since about an hour ago.

"The princess will be delayed in about an hour. In the meantime, you can go and have breakfast, "Gayatri opens the door and enters, followed by a line of attendants carrying steamed bowls with a variety of delicious meals.

Shaurya's stomach grumbled at the sight of the food, but looking at Gayatri's facial expression, he felt as if there was a fish bone stuck in his throat.

What exactly is the princess's problem?

Did he want him to die at the hands of this military general?

No matter how obedient Gayatri was on the surface, she was sure she hated him. If he wanted to, he could find a hundred ways to kill him and leave no trace.

In fact, when he was arrested the night before, his first thought after regaining consciousness was that it was the work of the lover.

But then he realized that he would not dare to take her to an official prison.

Giving him a polite nod, Shaurya got up and took his own food. Since he couldn't change the situation, he had better make the most of it. This was a principle he had recently learned from someone. He could feel the woman's intense gaze making a hole in his back, but he continued to eat in an indifferent manner.

For him, food has become one way to remember Mriga. Every time he ate something different over the past month, he would imagine the hungry monster's reaction to him.

The gluttonous eater can let go of almost anything in front of his favorite dish. During the early days of their mentoring, when he came to stay in the store, he had submitted the initial report on all the trainees to Prithvi after their training.

When it came to him, he specifically made a comment about this effect.

He had warned Prithvi that the girl's biggest negative point as a spy was – 'most likely to be persuaded by the enemy through delicious dishes'.

.

Thinking of it, Shaurya could not help but laugh, causing the people around him to be shocked.

Realizing the incongruity of his actions, he immediately smothered his lips into a straight line but could not escape Gayatri's next words,

"It feels so arrogant, doesn't it? But it's too early for any celebration."

Shaurya wanted to shout loudly that he was not interested in any woman in this entire country, but he had learned his lesson beforehand and held his tongue. No, he would not react to any provocation. It's just a matter of a few more days.

Hang Shauryaveer!!

Stay put...

Despite claiming otherwise, Ahilya soon returned. When he entered the room, his face flushed unusually and he looked a little busy as he failed to accept the tense-looking atmosphere in the room.

"Everyone, get out" he ordered.

Shaurya was on high alert as he watched the officers come out, one after another. He was completely wary of what the princess wanted to talk about, with no one in the room.

Is his body in danger?

If he's not mistaken, hitting a noble carries the death penalty. She felt like a girl in a wolf den.

Goddamn...

Finally, only Gayatri, him and Shaurya were in the room. Unbeknownst to Shaurya, it was Gayatri who felt the heart pounding to the maximum. Until now, Ahilya held back her feelings for Veer.

But blatantly calling him here, what was his purpose?

His relationship with Ahilya was unlike a few days ago and as a result, he could not make a claim and ask it directly.

"What are you waiting for, General?" Ahilya asked Gayatri with raised eyebrows.

Blood was drained from Gayatri's face when she realized that Ahilya intended to expel him as well. He would have a private conversation with the man in his private room. Since childhood, this privilege has only been his. A mocking smile appeared on his lips as he muttered an apology and rushed out of the room.

A flash of pain flashed across Ahilya's face before disappearing rapidly. He turned around to finally face the man standing against the incoming light from the window.

The pair of thin lips he knew could be cruel and evil stretched out in a polite smile. He hated seeing this expression on his face. When he saw her the first time, he did not hold back his sneers and arrogance, making him instantly feel attracted to her.

But since then, he started putting a polite and indifferent mask on his face that he hated.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. The king called me unexpectedly," he began.

His fingers had reached the space between his eyebrows and pinched the area, as if fighting a sense of tiredness there.

He shook his head but did not say anything more, looking politely at a point on the wall behind him.

"My original intention of bringing you here was to offer an apology on behalf of my mother for her unfair treatment of you. I didn't know that he would misunderstand the whole situation. I know that offering a royal bath and breakfast is a bad compensation but I don't know how else I could have made it up because I believe that you're not a materialistic person who wants jewelry and gold coins," his words seemed to have some hidden layers, but Shaurya chose not to investigate.

"The princess doesn't owe me an apology. As a mother, the queen is worried about you and that is quite understandable. You don't have to fret on behalf of an insignificant person like me. But I thank you for your hospitality. If that's the case, I won't take up more of your time. Have a nice day, Princess," Shaurya felt relieved and patted her on the back for delivering that impromptu speech.

"You seem to be in a hurry to escape from here. I wonder if you're afraid of me" the question is rhetorical.

Shaurya's expression was flat but, in his heart, he cursed him. Of course, he was afraid of her. She is a strange woman who seems to have a design on her.

"I'm sorry if I've offended you in any way with my actions" he said.

Ahilya raised her head back and laughed.

"Look at you so politically correct and cautious. Apologies have always appeared on your lips lately," he mocked her.

But he had learned a difficult lesson and refused to take the bait.

"As I said, my original intention was to apologize to you but then I was called by my father before coming here. I'm worried now I have a request to ask from you," he said, his tone indifferent, almost overbearing but there was a tinge of nervousness and excitement suppressed underneath.

Shaurya stood with his hands clenched loosely in front of him, waiting for the princess to make her point.

"I want you to marry me" he said.

Whahuh?

Shaurya thought he heard wrong and was just about to ask him to repeat his words.

"My father knows about the deal I made with your queen. I had tried my best to hide it from him until the last minute, hoping he wouldn't make me trouble. The problem is that if this succeeds, I will defeat his son and as a result, I will be announced as the next ruler of Himprayag. Unfortunately, this was something my father disliked even though he claimed otherwise and he had come up with a new condition this morning. As according to him, I will not be accepted easily by the royal palace and the people of the country solely because of my qualifications. I need to show my maturity side by having a reasonable and qualified man beside me who will help me in running the country, "His voice is trailing looking at the expression on Veer's face.
