Princess Fighter: Search for the Throne

Princess Fighter: Search for the Throne
Chapter 83: Previous Plan

Exam Hall

Vindhya dared not look up to see who had thrown the tangled leaf but pulled it closer after realizing that the supervisor had passed her.

"More than one correct answer" is all it says.

Vindhya's face paled and she quickly scanned the instruction sheet once more, cursing everyone at that moment.

But he didn't have much time left for anything else except to double-check his answer. By the time the gong rang loudly, he had just managed to answer the last question. Placing his fists in his eyes, he wanted his heart to be normal before rising from its place.

Vindhya's shoulders were gently patted as she was about to step out of the auditorium.

"May I succeed in helping," it was one of the two contestants who helped him during the round of the labyrinth.

Vindhya felt embarrassed because she ended up relying on this chit to get through today. He wanted to retaliate by saying that more than help, 'on time' help would be appreciated but that would imply that he himself did not find his instructions. So he just nodded briefly, acknowledging his words.

"Then, will you make sure to say good words to me?" the girl asked with hope in her voice.

Right now, a frown appeared between Vindhya's eyebrows.

"Who exactly asked you to do this? Why did you help me when you were my direct competitor?" Vindhya finally asked a burning question in her mind.

The girl smiled shyly and said with faint words,

"I just want to be the first to congratulate the next QIT. I hope you look at me well when the time comes."

Before Vindhya could answer, the girl left from there.

He stood there for a moment, with his mind stirring up various possibilities. The only conclusion he came to was that his father was the one working behind the scenes in this case.

As the head of the zilla, he was the only one who could persuade someone to do this. Are these girls from the same zilla as him?

Since they were much younger, Vindhya had not paid much attention to them in the past. Should I bother to check it out?

While he was arguing with himself about it, his attention was diverted by someone's joyous screams.

He looked over and immediately hoped he would not.

Yash who grinned received the hard and disrespectful girl in his arms and she shamelessly jumped into his arms. Feeling nauseous at the sight, he walked away.

"You don't know ... At first I thought .. but then I realized .. oh I can't start telling you," Mriga was confused by the excitement.

At the end of the paper, she felt that she had made more than enough effort to answer him, making her feel much more confident than before.

Yash did not expect she would land in his embrace the moment as soon as he saw her but it turned out that her body was reacting faster than her head and before he realized it, he stood close enough that he could feel his words bouncing off his skin, causing goosebumps.

Perhaps he noticed the mismatch of their position and stepped back awkwardly, causing Yash to hold her forearm and say,

"Thank you .. for letting me stay."

With that, he let go and took a few steps back.

Mriga turned her gaze around and asked in surprise,

"Where are the others?"

Just then, the pouting-looking trio walked towards him.

"How did it go?" ask Abhirath.

He looked at her confused. There was something wrong with her and she immediately asked him worriedly.

"Don't bother your head with things that don't matter. Answer me first" he replied.

Mriga becomes Mriga, ignores him and asks Vandit about it. In the wrong tone, he told her how Chiranjeev bullied them as he gave the exam and that he was also very harsh when marking their appearance.

Mriga's eyes widened like plates in joy.

In a stage whisper, he asked her,

"Even Abhirath was rebuked?"

"You know I can hear you, right?" Abhirath growled but neither Vandit nor Mriga looked at him.

Vandit winks at Mriga and nods his head, making his mouth fall first.

"Chiranjeev was very ruthless when dissecting Abhirath's map," he said, maintaining a false whisper tone.

Mriga punched into the air to show his excitement.

"Oh! If only I had been there to watch it" he said after a few seconds.

"A cruel girl" muttered Abhirath who pouted to his ears, but he chose to pretend to be stupid.

Chiranjeev came there and Mriga shouted in excitement while running and shortened the distance between them.

"You are my hero" he said to the man who looked at him strangely.

He clasped his arm and squeezed it to show his appreciation for his actions.

Unbeknownst to him, Abhirath feels his heart is squeezed by his actions. This girl was so happy to see him defeated.he felt like crying!

Chiranjeev, who avoided physical closeness, gently removed his hand from his arm and muttered to her,

"Someone will add poison to my food if it continues this way."

She spoke with reference to him standing very close to her while Mriga thought that he was talking about his own actions.

"Then be careful! Anyway I am very proud of you," he said again on the sidelines giggling.

He shook his head at his exaggerated reaction and asked,

"If you're done celebrating, do you want to tell us about the exam? Everyone is worried about your appearance today. Wait a minute .. Do you show this overreaction because you want to hide your bad actions in the exam?"

.

Gouruk

It was one of those rare days when Mriga felt kind towards Chiranjeev, but that feeling did not last more than a few minutes. Why are all these boys so rude to her?

She grimaced at his evil words and with her nose raised, she said,

"The people who made this paper are obviously not stupid. They are aware that QIT is not required to specify the population or mortality rate of a region at the tip of its hat. There were many others who told him that. All he needs to know is how to increase or fight that number. And that's what I'm asking."

He was explaining the details to the boy when someone patted him on the shoulder from behind,

"Hello Mrignayani."

Mriga turned around and smiled in surprise as the smiling face of Ganga appeared in front of him. No one noticed Chiranjeev's change in expression as he looked at the older girl there.

They all saw the chess champions after all this time today.

Since the iconic match on that sporting day, Mriga kept in touch with Gangga but then the holidays started and after the reopening of Gurukul, the, Gangga went to participate in a tournament organized by Himprayag where he represented Chandragarh in chess in his age group.

"How did it go, Senior?" Mriga asked respectfully after the girls made small talk.

The others had already moved on, giving the girls time to catch up. Before leaving, Abhirath had whispered something in Mriga's ear, which she nodded. Chiranjeev had been staring at Ganga sadly, but it was too soon for others to notice.

Ganga smiled and said humbly,

"Well, they arranged a difficult match and talented students from all over the region made the match very challenging. But by the grace of the Moon, I managed to lift the trophy on behalf of our Gurukul."

"Well, that's amazing. I really hope to come and see that game" Mriga replied expectantly.

He was thinking of his mother at the time who also went to Himprayag with the same purpose.

Seeing him, Mriga felt a hint of regret. In his eyes, Ganga would be the perfect candidate for this competition. Unfortunately, he was older and missed the span of a year.

"You're thinking hard. I think you must have a lot of things right now. I won't bother you any further. Let's catch up after the tournament is over" said the older girl.

Mriga stopped him and said,

"No, no, I just wanted to ask you about the help I want from you, especially since you just got back and had a lot of school work to pursue."

Seeing Ganga's curious gaze, he continued,

"I hope to ask you to come to my team as a strategic reserve if I need people at some stage of the next competition. The details of the next stage are not yet in place and have not yet been launched but your sharpness and thought process are amazing and I will definitely benefit from it."

Ganga's laughter made a tinkling sound as she said,

"Look at you so courteously and keep your distance from me. Of course, I'll help you. Needless to say. Actually, I was wondering about coming and offering my services to you earlier. A few days ago, someone named Yuvati contacted me, asking me to join her team. But I rejected it because I didn't want to work hard on behalf of people I didn't know personally."

Mriga thanked his stars as well as the fool who had given this advice to him a few minutes ago.

They did not know the details of stage 3 and although the boy was good, Mriga needed a 'think tank' made up of various people. Ganga, being senior and more experienced, will definitely add value and diversity to the group.

They chatted for a few more minutes and then Gangga excused himself from there.

"Hey.your name is Mrignayani, right," Vaishali's thunderous voice made the shorter girl stop her steps.

He looked at his competitors in wonder. What does he want now?

"Can we talk in private?" the girl who approached asked him.

Mriga tilted her head to the side and observed Vaishali, who was walking towards her with large strides.

It feels beyond his character to approach Mriga and that too to 'talk' in the middle of the competition. Despite this, he had no reason to reject the request and nodded his head, showing with his hand that Vaishali should take the lead.

"Please talk," said Mriga as she leaned against a large banayan tree waiting for another girl.

A glimpse of awkwardness came and disappeared from Vaishali's face, short enough for Mriga to feel that she had imagined it.

"Are you the one who helped me in the labyrinth that day?" the taller girl asked him.

Mriga's eyebrows wrinkled in confusion. He did not remember helping her and shook his head.

"Have you cut the rope for someone who hung upside down on a tree?" Vaishali asked again, this time the embarrassment was clearly visible on her face.

"ah! Is that you?" Mriga's brain finally recalled the person making a big noise as she fell to the ground, but Mriga was too rushed to notice or be gentle about it.

"How do you know that I'm the one who helped you? I didn't even speak a word with you," asked Mriga with her head tilted to one side.

"My partner was lying wounded on the side of the tree where you were hung upside down. Apparently, he heard you muttering to yourself but he became convinced that it was you when we entered the pulpit room almost at the same time and saw you with khukri. He told me about it later," Vaishali explained.

.

"Oh, fine! If you're here to say thank you, you don't have to. In fact, I will ask you not to say this to anyone. If erhm, my partner found out that I was wasting time in helping someone who was today instead of running straight to save him, he would personally hang me upside down this time without pause," Mriga shuddered at the thought while telling this to Vaishali.

Vaishali felt a piece of jealousy crawl over her body when she heard another girl mention her friend.

Vaishali had never found a man worthy enough to stand beside her until she underwent battle experience with Abhirath a few days ago.

His personality and style were very similar to her and immediately attracted her attention. But his strong attraction disappears once he realizes that the man is very loyal to the girl next to him. It was as if nothing else was really there for him.

She was a loner who came into the world at the same time her mother died in childbirth. His father left him in the care of his parents and went to fight for mother earth.

During the first four years of her existence, she came to visit him regularly but in her fifth year, her shrouded body was sent to the family.

His elderly grandfather lit his son's bonfire and then his wife in no time.

The old man could not take care of the little girl alone and with a heavy heart, he sent her to a state-owned orphanage with a request that she be told about her father and his heroism when she grew up.

By the time Vaishali was nine, she had decided that she would grow up to be someone her father would be proud of.

Before entering the contest, he had decided that if he did not succeed in the QIT competition, he would leave and enlist in the military. But as long as he is here, he will give his best.

"No, I'm not here to thank you even though I'm grateful for her help. Without your actions, I lost my qualification that day. Actually, I came to talk about uncovering the gang of girls who seemed to have formed a consortium and played games together. Do you know it and the identity of one of them?" she asked.

Mriga was surprised and asked Vaishali the reason for approaching him for this reason.

Vaishali looked at the short girl in front of him with a strange expression,

"Are you fishing for praise, Mrignayani?"

Mriga was confused by his choice of words.

"No, I was just asking why did you come to me with this? We're not even acquaintances, forget friends. That's the question, then," he explained.

Frankly, he was suspicious of the motive behind the other girl who was looking for him and trying to read his expression.

Vaishali shook her head in disbelief and replied,

"Don't tell me that you didn't realize that your name was ranked in the top five on the betting list as the most likely winner since the end of day one."

Mriga's mouth was agape at the claims of another girl.

Why would someone want to bet on him?

Don't they know how nervous he was last night, questioning his abilities?

He found it very difficult to accept it.

"No, I don't, nor do I believe such a prediction. By the way, up to your point, I felt that the contestants were acting strangely during the physical task. But then why would someone jeopardize their candidacy by grouping together? I found some of them in the labyrinth near the lake before I was caught next to the tree but I was unable to identify any of them. Possibly ... Abhirath can have a clue about that. He mentioned vaguely that he had heard some of them that day as well. Do you want to talk to him about this?" she asked.

While Mriga's thoughts were involved in who could be the offender, Vaishali's face turned red thinking about whether to say yes or no to another episode of what would be self-inflicted torture.

She believes that what she is feeling right now is a simple case of attraction towards a man for the first time and if she avoids it, it will disappear.

But on the other hand, even the slightest chance of seeing him made his heart pound faster than a wild horse galloping.

Before he realized it, his relaxed-looking voice replied,

"certain. Tell me when."

Mriga nodded and told him that he would arrange it.

.

Himprayag, King's chamber

King Indraditya was panting and although the embers were burning in all corners of the room, he shivered a little.

Rani Nayantara slipped a blanket around her feet while sitting on the luxurious sofa, trying to take a deep breath.

"Don't bother toying with a wife who loves you. It doesn't suit you," he sighed and pushed his hand.

The queen pouted and replied,

"Do you have to be suspicious around me all the time? Your daughter seems to inherit the same trait. It's annoying to be treated with mistrust by the two of you every time I try and do something nice."

The king did not want to waste his breath trying to argue with him and just asked,

"Why are you here at a time like this?"

The queen smirked and said,

"I came to visit you and, on the way, I learned that even Ahilya would visit you, tonight. So, I was thinking of having a comfortable family reunion. With the two of you very busy all the time, we never got together, just the three of us. I've also ordered someone to bring you a bitter hot bean drink that you really like. A fresh bunch just arrived from my parents' farm this week ."
