Princess Fighter: Search for the Throne

"Remember, you will represent me and the entire Admin department there. It's up to you how to behave" Shaurya said softly.

Mriga stood there, letting the seriousness of his words weigh on his shoulders.

Nodding slightly, he locked his gaze with his gaze and replied solemnly, "I promise I won't let you down."

Shaurya tries to break the key to the gaze but he can't. He felt his eyes pull him in. He had never found them hypnotizing before. God, what's wrong with her, like seriously?

"Uh, ahem.well then, as long as you know what to do. I'll go now," with that he's gone.

Mriga stood there watching his back retreat. There was something strange about him today but he didn't know what. Shrugging his shoulders, he also turned around to trace his steps back to Gurukul.

...****************...

Vindhya's late.

"Hey, where are you going? You look beautiful, so.. very royal!" Gauri exclaimed as she hit him at the entrance of the Science princess dormitory.

"I told you I should go for an important event today, right? I'm late for that. It's all the prideful man's fault" Vindhya said with a frown.

"Which guy? Ap...what.." Gauri did not have time to finish her sentence because her friend had run away right in the middle of it.

"Wow! I've never seen him angry like that" Gauri muttered to herself.

Standing at the entrance of the venue, Yash gulped nervously while waiting for the guests to come. He felt very embarrassed imagining facing Vindhya.

On the one hand, she was grateful for her courtesy to agree to come to the party because it gave her the opportunity to tell her mother the truth peacefully.

But on the other hand, she feels guilty for dragging Vindhya in her family matters to this extent. And then there's another problem about Mriga not even smelling this mess that she's avoiding even to think about, right now.

The reason was that as long as he managed to overcome it in the end, Mriga did not need to know about it, forever. He was convinced that Vindhya was too graceful and kind a person to mention her in front of Mriga or anyone else for that matter.

All she needs to do is convince her mother and everything will work out on its own. Holding her shoulders up, she flashed a smile on her lips as the first group of guests came in front of her.

The party went well when Vindhya came in. He had met Ujjwala earlier in the year when the first visited his parents' home in West Zilla.

"Greetings, aunt," he tilted his head politely, saluting Ujjwala, who was standing surrounded by important officials of the Chandragarh royal palace.

Ujjwala muttered to be forgiven from there and walked over to hold Vindhya's hand. Wearing a dark blue silk lehenga and a calm pink blouse, the girl looked quite pretty. But more than her clothes, the way she restrains got the approval of Ujjwala.

In his eyes, it was equally important to see that part, to be that part.

"May all be well with your parents. I'm so glad you came to this show and thank you for the generous offer to help me organize it. But I don't want to interrupt your schedule."

Vindhya shook her head and said with a smile, "Congratulations on the victory of Zilla's best award, aunt. I'm sure this is just the beginning. As for help, I think aunt misunderstood. I just meant to send some of my local help living in the capital to help you."

Ujjwala's eyebrows rise to his hairline. He was wrong about the girl. This is not a shy and overly enthusiastic miss.

"Ah, mistake... I will gladly accept their help at that time. But my minions are not as competent as you can see for yourself. They had managed to do a decent show," Ujjwala reached out his hand offering Vindhya to take a look at the luxurious decorations.

"I don't doubt your abilities, Auntie. It was just a polite gesture from my side," Vindhya let go of the matter after making her point.

He was well aware of her cunning and domineering nature and would not let her know about it.

After all, she was the failed candidate of the Queen while Vindhya was about to become Queen. There was no way she would let the woman try and fulfill her unfulfilled aspirations through her.

Yes, he likes his son, but Vindhya is not stupid enough to let Ujjwala know about his vulnerability.

Just then, a worried-looking Yash walked towards them.

"Uh hi, you're here," he said a little awkwardly.

Vindhya gave him a big smile. It was as if he knew exactly what made him uncomfortable.

"Vindhya, you came at the right time. Will you be kind enough to help Yash in guarding the town's merchant group for me while I go and take care of the politicians?" Ujjwala asked kindly and left when the girl nodded in agreement.

Yash grabbed Vindhya's hand once her mother was out of sight and pulled her behind the pillar.

Vindhya's heart started racing. It's totally unexpected. Finally, he let go of her hand and stood in front of her.

"What are we really doing here?" Vindhya was surprised by her own voice.

Is that her, sounding breathless and feminine?

"Please, let me tell you a few things. I don't know when I'll get the courage and the chance to do it again. I want to start by saying - sorry and thank you! I'm so sorry to have put you in this awkward situation and I'm grateful you didn't turn down my mother's invitation today. I know you must have been confused when he invited you and the way he spoke to you just now. I realized I should have told him the truth about my feelings at the first given opportunity but I had not been able to muster up the courage to do so. In her eyes, you are the perfect girl for our family and she is not wrong. I mean, you're perfect in all aspects. It's just that my heart has someone else in it and.." her voice disappeared.

Vindhya's hope that soared a few minutes ago, fell once again.

I won't let a stupid crush get in the way of my goals, he reminded himself, sternly.

Putting an understanding smile on his face, he said, "It's no big deal. Why are you so stressed? In fact, I don't even understand the rush to tell him about it. That's not how they get us married tomorrow. As long as you and I are clear about things, you don't have to tell her straight away. From what I know, they haven't even met each other, have they? I think you should find a chance to introduce them to each other. Let the girl.ah, Mrignayani try and make a positive impression on her. That post, look at your mother's reaction to it. It might make it easier for you. Of course, this is just my mind."

Yash looked at him with admiration shining from his eyes.

"You're geniuses. No wonder everyone adores you. You have made a good suggestion and I will take it with pleasure. Now let's go and follow my mother's orders so I can make a good impression on her" he said and patted her on the shoulder.

Vindhya replied to him with a weak smile.

...****************...

Two hours later

Ujjwalla flicked her finger at someone and a woman ran to the spot carrying a hot tub to where she was sitting. Soaking his feet in the fragrant water, Ujjwala pondered for the past few hours.

The party had just finished and was a huge success from all aspects.

"The two of you did a good job today. I love the ease and cleverness you use in your networking skills, Yash. And you're graceful and charming, Vindhya," she gave them a smile of kindness.

Standing together, they form a striking pair, she - tall and skinny, she - curves well and is beautiful.

"Yash, it's night. Why don't you two go back to college. The carriage is already waiting outside and will bring you back," Ujjwala instructed.

Yash nodded and went to pick up his uniform from upstairs before leaving.

"So, what do you think? Are you happy with the matchmaking your parents made for you?" Ujjwala asked the girl frankly.

Vindhya was not bothered by the question and did not let her inner turmoil be seen on her face.

After Yash's reaction a few hours ago, his mind had been wavering for some time about his attachment to another girl. But during the party, she sees the interaction between the boy and his mother.

He had come to the conclusion that he was a gentle person who was completely under the supervision of his mother. There was no way he would rebel against her.

So the question is should he let go just because his puppy love is judged to be bad?

His mother always told him that men take longer to grow mentally, compared to women. He was really the first guy he liked and why he had to let go just because he didn't know anything yet.

No, he's the perfect choice for Yash! He just had to wait until he realized that as well. Meanwhile, there were more than enough ways to swing the cute couple's boat. All it takes is timely intervention.

"I have complete confidence in all the decisions my parents made on my behalf. Thank you for inviting me to this wonderful party. I'm really having fun. Everyone was so nice to me. I have met some of them during my coming of age party some time ago and they are good enough to remember me from then on" Vindhya confirmed her point but politely.

Ujjwala gave him a nod agreeing to the politically correct answer. Although she did not admit it, it became clear to Ujjwala that the girl was beaten by her son.

Unfortunately, he was not so sure about his son's feelings. He was the type of person who wore his heart up his sleeve, just like his father. Even though Yash had been friendly all night towards her, she had not been too warm towards the girl.

Although she was confident in her approval, she was a woman who did not believe in letting anything happen by chance. A brilliant idea hit him at that moment.

"Uh, has the announcement of the Queen's competition in Gurukul been made?" he asked Vindhya.

Vindhya replied with a frown, "Yes. It was done by itself this morning. Unfortunately, the contest rules and the choice of moderators, both leave much to be desired. Authorities have decided to include even fifteen-year-old girls as contestants this year. I mean, what are they thinking? These participants barely know how to distinguish a bow from a mace and they have qualified to compete with us! As for the moderator, let's just say I have never seen or heard of him before during the seven years I lived in Gurukul. Shouldn't they give responsibility to someone a little more capable than an unknown man sitting outside a rundown building?"

"Well, you really know how to express your thoughts," Ujjwala said gently.

She did not know who her moderator was nor was she aware of the changing age group of participants. When the Queen's office requested a change to the head of the zilla, the final document had not been sent back to the zilla. But Ujjwala did not consider these changes a major problem.

"I don't understand why you should be affected by the influx of young girls. From where I saw it, their presence or absence made no difference to the actual contest as most of them would not even make it through the first round. The intensity of the Queen's competition was far different from any event anyone had ever participated in. So, don't worry about that. For the moderator, know the Queen, if she chooses her, she will be an impartial person. Rani Samyukta may be incompetent, but she's fair in her dealings" Ujjwala said, recalling the Queen's warm embrace as she won the best zilla award.

"It's okay. I have asked you a question for another purpose. I was wondering if you wanted to come and train under your guidance for the contest during the semester break. After all, I was the first runner-up during the last held competition. Yash can act as your sparring partner for mental and physical exercise. If you agree, I'll ask your parents' permission" said Ujjwala half-smilingly.

Vindhya's heart surged at the thought of spending so much time near Yash. He doesn't really care about Ujjwala's 'guidance.

Vindhya had spent most of her childhood preparing for the same and did not think that the woman would have anything else to teach her.

But there was nothing wrong with keeping her spirits up until she could move her son from under her thumb.

Once she is crowned Queen in training, she will ensure that Yash completes her studies and stays in the territory of the capital rather than returning to South Zilla.

By the time his mother completes her tenure as head of the Southern zilla, Vindhya will have gained control of Yash well under her own control.

"I can only thank you for your generosity, aunt. I'll be happy to train under your insightful direction" he bowed and said so.

"good. It's decided then. I will send a letter to your parents today" Ujjwala replied proudly.

"What has been decided?" Yash asked as he reached the last sentence of Ujjwala.

His mother shook her head and said, "Nothing concerns you right now. It's late. I don't want the dean to punish me for bending Gurukul's rules to my advantage. You guys should leave immediately without further." delay."

The two bowed towards Ujjwala and left.

...****************...

Outside the Vindhya dormitory

"I'm having fun today. You and your mother are wonderful hosts" Vindhya said with a smile.

Yash shook his head loudly and replied, Yash,

"No. I thank you for your generosity and understanding. You're a truly wonderful person and I'm happy to meet you. I hope I'll meet you before we part ways for a break. "

He shrugged his shoulders indifferently and said, "I did nothing to earn that praise. Please visit us if you are traveling to the West zilla during the holidays."

With a wave of his hand, he turned around and walked into the dormitory. The satisfied grin that had lurked around, broke free on his face now. He was really very happy about how things went well tonight.

Yash turned around to go towards his own dorm. He had considered meeting Mriga but it was late and he might have gone to bed.

Mriga had just returned to the dormitory after waiting outside Yash's dormitory for a while, when she met Ishani.

...****************...

His friend frowned and was surprised when he saw Mriga in front of him.

"Don't tell me you've had a fight with her," Mriga replied to her friend's dialogue.

Ishani doesn't know how to respond. He was walking around with Vandit around the school when he saw Yash and the girl from the quiz contest entering Gurukul.

Both of them were wearing formal clothes that looked expensive and seemed to have returned from somewhere, together. Thankfully Vandit did not see them and he made sure to turn around from them.

Even though she likes Vandit, the last thing she wants is for someone to see and speculate about something about her best friend. If his eyes did not deceive him, he had seen the two laughing and chatting, completely at ease with each other.

He hopes there is a logical explanation for the same and plans to confront Yash about it the next morning. What he did not expect was that he would meet with Mriga before then.
