Princess Fighter: Search for the Throne

Princess Fighter: Search for the Throne
XXXIV

Listening to Yash explain it in detail, Mriga held back her question about the girl she wanted to ask him about the previous day.

He was very sure Yash would not lie about meeting his mother or his party. He could have met the girl at the party or at the Gurukul gate. That's not a big deal. He won't be short-sighted about him meeting other people.

"So why did you look for me yesterday? Do you want my help in solving some love problems?" he asked her with a wink.

He looked at her in confusion and wondered how he knew about what she was thinking. And why was he so relaxed when talking about that topic?

"Did Ishani talk to you this morning?" he asked, wondering if his friend had confronted him about the girl from last night.

He shook his head and replied with a frown, "No, err .. Your friend is looking for you before, that man, Abhirath. I assume that you went to seek his help because you couldn't find me. I understand that you want to solve the problem between the new love birds but you could have been waiting for me. There's no need to trouble outsiders for the same thing all the time."

Mriga thought that they were on two different planes. He had no clue about what he said but what was listed was the fact that Abhirath had been looking for him. Is everything okay in the Admin building?

"You said Abhirath came looking for me? When's this?" she asked.

Yash frowned slightly and said, "I also said many other things. By the way, he was here waiting for you when I arrived but then went to ask me to deliver a message to you about him being here."

Mriga became agitated and said, "Oh! I think I should go see him now. Why don't we meet later for a walk?"

"What's so urgent about Ishani's love life that you and she have to meet early in the morning to get it done? I understand that he is your best friend, but we don't have much time before Gurukul closes for a long time to rest. Is it too unreasonable for me to expect your time as well?" He complains.

Mriga finally understood that Abhirath must have mentioned something like this as an excuse for Yash before.

"Ah .. You are not wrong. It's just that Ishani is desperate and I don't want her to come back before helping her solve the problem with Vandit. Also better I settle this matter now before the given task starts. Rather than wasting our free time later tonight on this," he tried to persuade her.

"Then you want to go to the dorm? I'll take you there, "he replied scowling.

He grabbed her hand with gratitude and nodded.

Yash turned to look at her as soon as they reached the boys dormitory.

"I'll go and look for him. You wait here. Don't talk to him too long. You have a habit of getting carried away. I don't want you to be late for your duties" he gently scolded.

Mriga smiled and nodded her head obediently. He could see that he was feeling a little jealous and he liked it.

"Hey you! You're the girl from last night, right? Is everything okay in your house now?" a voice spoke from the stairs.

Mriga looked up to see the head of the boys dorm standing there. He quickly replied that everything was fine now and bowed to her, hoping that she would not say anything more.

He could feel Yash standing beside him and frowned confusedly.

"good. You looked so worried last night that I wondered. Are you here looking for your fiancee? Do you need me to call him?" he offers gracefully.

Mriga groaned silently. This was what he had been worried about for the past few seconds. He thanked her politely and told her that he was here for some other work at the moment.

The man looked like he wanted to say something else but fortunately stopped at the last moment.

Sighing internally, he braced himself for Yash's question. He doesn't know how to explain this now.

"Fiancee? I didn't know you were engaged to be married" Yash's upset voice made Mriga want to poke her eyes with her own finger.

He had not expected last night that such a situation could happen because of the white lies he had uttered in haste.

"I was in a hurry last night and it was late at night. The jailer would not have allowed me to send a message to Abhirath had I not said this," he said, trying as close to the truth as possible.

"As a result, you call him your fiancee? It doesn't seem like a big deal to you. Makes me wonder how well I know you?" Yash growling.

He knows that he is wrong here but there is no way to dispel Yash's accusations without giving the truth that he cannot do.

"Oh, look, you guys must have a telepathic connection. Here comes your fiancee," sarcasm dripped from her tongue as Abhirath walked towards them from the other direction.

As he reached them, Yash said angrily, "I will leave you two to solve the important love problems of your dear friends. Mriga, I just remembered that I have some pending tasks that must be handed over immediately. I think I'll see you post a semester break. Enjoy your conversation."

Mriga wanted to dig a hole in the ground and put his head in it. Not only did she upset Yash, but Abhirath had witnessed her humiliating fight with him again.

One thing he hates is broadcasting his personal affairs in front of others, but that seems to have happened a lot these past few weeks.

"I .. err, he doesn't look so happy" Abhirath's sentence contained a question in it.

Mriga replied grimly, "Sipir recognized me from last night and asked about my fiance and the whole episode appeared in front of Yash which of course he misunderstood like everyone else as well. Now I don't know how to explain this matter to him without telling the truth."

A part of Abhirath was overjoyed at the turn of events but seeing his pitiful expression, his heart also ached.

"Why don't you tell him that this is how you get his attention and check the depth of his feelings for you" he said after a while.

Mriga's eyes widened at his suggestion.

"What does that mean?" she asked.

Abhirath thought it was very cute at the moment. He did not know about his ability to pull people towards himself.

"That means you're trying to make him jealous. Just think of the reasons why you need to do that and that's it. It would make her feel flattered and sure of how you feel about her" she explained.

He bit his lips as he pondered over his words and realized that this might really work.

"thank you. You are a life-saver. Uh. You came looking for me a while ago. Everything all right?" she asked.

"Yes, I plan to go to the Admin department early to help in any way I can. I was thinking of checking if you wanted to join, "he asked.

Mriga smiled in surprise and replied, "What a coincidence! I think the same. In fact, we can leave now if you're ready."

"Umm, don't you want to chase after your girlfriend now?" he asked reluctantly.

Before he even finished his sentence, he shook his head.

Abhirath gave her a wide smile, making her blink in surprise.

"Then let's go" he said.

Admin building

"So, you're trying to say that the defense network has been infiltrated?" Prithvi's voice was heavier than usual.

Ramanujam had just returned from the Eastern zilla after completing the task that Prithvi had given him.

"There were rumors of some intruders entering Chandragarh through the coast located in East Zilla and Prithvi wanted to check its authenticity. In the past, infiltration was most prevalent in Western zilla because its port was opened for trade transactions with various countries. The eastern zilla is like a backwater with no port established, the sea choppy and as a result, not much business going on there except local fisheries. Therefore, it can be assumed that the reports about the Easter coast being a new target to enter the country are true. As for the compromised network, it is unlikely that foreigners managed to evade coastal border security without internal assistance" Ramanujam said.

"But then how do you claim that the attack on Shaurya was carried out by the same group of people?" Prithvi.

Ramanujam took out a pouch from his kurta pocket and placed it in front of Prithvi. Taking it, Prithvi smelled it from a distance.

"This is what Amrapali took from the belongings of a stranger who died last week. Before coming here, I brought the bag to Vaidya. He told me that the bag was made from weeds not found in the Chandragarh plant and also that the same kind of poison was given to Shauryaveer. Since it was an unknown poison, he had no antidote for it and instead had to drain the affected blood. He sounded quite irritated at having to use rudimentary methods to treat the illness.patiently but according to him, Shaurya's life was really in danger back then," the story goes.

Prithvi's face was marred by a frown. She had enjoyed some free time with her partner some time ago. His partner insisted on showing him new dance moves.

At the end of the show, the two gasped for breath, one with exertion and the other with vigor. The special eagle appeared just then at his residence, making Prithvi leave everything behind, instantly.

The golden eagle is a trained bird that is only used in emergencies between Prithvi, Ramanujam and Saraswati. It was a trained bird and responded to commands issued only by the three.

Making hasty excuses to his partner, Prithvi leaves his house. He came out of the front gate like any normal person. After walking up to the end of the road, he turned around and looked around if any eyes were watching him.

After confirming that he was alone, he ran back and climbed the wall of his house to get into the backyard. Prithvi had built a tunnel alone between Gurukul and his home when he was first assigned to the post.

The tunnel was open right in the middle of a bush in the sports field next to the Admin building. Entering the tunnel, he fumbled the fire sticks at the entrance and lit them.

Walking quickly, he arrived in Gurukul just as Mriga and Abhirath had left from there under Saraswati's instructions where Ramanujam was waiting for him with the latest news.

...****************...

After that day

Mriga and Abhirath walk to the room where Shaurya is resting. Saraswasti got up from the chair beside his bed and walked up to them.

gesturing for them to follow him out, he spoke in a whisper, "You guys are back sooner than expected!"

Mriga replied in a soft tone, "We just want to be useful. I'm sure you have a lot of work waiting for you. Since we are both free from schoolwork for now, we can take turns standing guard here. Others can help you run errands, if any."

Saraswati smiled at the girl's enthusiasm and patted her on the back. He knew that there was a reason why he liked her so much.

"OKAY. Then you come and help me with the correspondence. Abhirath, wait for my father here. He'll be here soon to check on Shaurya, "he ordered.

Mriga removed the heavy bag from her shoulder and placed it outside the room door.

Looking at the inquiring expression on Saraswati and Abhirath's face, she said, "I have some dry snacks, some books and some board games, for the recovering patient and his caregiver."

Saraswati raised her head back and laughed before recalling to reduce her noise level.

"You're my favorite person for the next. I like people who predict and make plans accordingly. Good girl" she told him.

Mriga beamed at Saraswati and lowered her head to show her gratitude for the compliment. Abhirath looked at her happy face patiently and felt as if she had received a compliment.

She plans to spend some quality time with Mriga and therefore asks him to come take care of their mentor. But he poured water on all those dreams and went to help the teacher.

Sighing, he rummaged through the bag to find a book and sat down on the chair that was stored in the room.

...****************...

Two hours later

Mriga tiptoes into Shaurya's room only to find the two sound asleep. Abhirath's head drooped on one side and his body appeared to be in an uncomfortable position in the small chair. Hiding his smile, he shook it gently.

When he woke up, he called him out and said, "I just met Prithvi guruji and he has instructed that the other trainees are not informed about this. He wanted to limit the knowledge of this incident to as few people as possible. .So, you should go back to the dorm and rest now while I stand guard here. You've been assigned night duty."

Abhirath thought for a moment and said, "I'm happy to take the night duty. But let me stay here and help you. If brother Shaurya wakes up, you won't be able to help him even get to the bathroom. I just took a nap and felt refreshed."

Abhirath looked up at the ceiling, praying for patience.

How could the girl always misunderstand his intentions?

He did not criticize his ability. He was just looking for a way to spend time with her. But he knew that if he pushed her again this time, they would end up in a fight.

"All right, I believe you. Now stop pouting. Do you know how scary you look with those angry eyes? I'll come later and bring you dinner. Is that acceptable?" he asked with a compromise.

He gave her a small smile and nodded in agreement. As soon as Abhirath left, Mriga entered the room and went to Shaurya. He felt his forehead.

It felt cool to touch and even his face had some color in it. The burden in his heart seemed to ease up a little. He adjusted the blankets around him and sat on the chair while sighing.

Saraswati has made her run around campus quite often. Apparently, his father's back hurts and he can't visit Shaurya.

So, she went first to inquire about his arrival, then took the medicine from him and once again told him that she should go home and rest as well.

"Ah, I forgot to make a new medicine for her," Mriga jumped out of the chair and went to the kitchen.
