Pregnant Without Husband

Pregnant Without Husband
67. Husein and Farhana

The flashback

Husein is the only son of the pair of fathers. He is a friendly, polite and generous young man and all other predicates of kindness stick to him.

Therefore, both of his parents always praised him and prided him on anyone as well.

Husein studied at one of the top universities in his city. He and his fellow campus activists, often hold social events, such as the distribution of basic necessities for underprivileged citizens around the city where he lives, opening a free school for street children, fundraising for victims of natural disasters and many other things.

Surely, he did all those things secretly, because both his parents did not agree he did that.

For both parents, life takes a struggle to achieve success. So they assume, the poor do not want to fight, the poor are lazy people.

One day, as he and his friends had just finished handing out groceries to the underprivileged in one of the villages, he passed by a house far from simple.

He stopped for a while and chatted with his friends. According to the data he brought, the occupants of the house were not listed in the list of recipients of the sembako, but according to his observations, the residents deserve help.

Because only 1 house has not received help, his friends sit on the side of the road, while Husein took the initiative to find a grocery store in the nearest area. He intended to buy a basic package for the residents of the house.

Shortly after, he had returned to meet his friends while carrying a package of groceries that contained a lot.

"About rich people's children, if you buy likes not about." chirped one of his friends.

Husein buys groceries and other social activities, using his pocket money. While the income he received from working on the thesis of his friend, he saved.

"We've had meatballs several times, but the occupants of the house never received, so I deliberately added a little more content. Let's get there, let's go home not too late." Husein stepped through the narrow courtyard towards the house.

Geck.. Tock....Tok

One of Husein's friends knocked on the door. But there's no answer. Finally repeated again. Until all grunts are upset because too long is not opened the door.

"Maybe this is an empty house left by its residents, since then there has been no reply at all. It's natural not to get help."

"Yes, we should have checked that there was no one inside. So it's useless already buy sembako."

A tweet from Husein's friend at the time. Husein felt bad with his friends, they finally decided to go home.

Just as they were walking a step, suddenly a voice came from inside the house, they exchanged glances in shock as well as goosebumps.

But the shock did not last long, because finally the door was open. A veiled woman pops her head from behind the door. He scrunched his forehead to see young men and women who might be his age visiting his home.

"Sorry, who are you looking for?" his voice sounded so soft and pleasant to hear. Makes the listener feel hypnotized.

Although his face was covered in a veil, and only partially visible, Husein and his friends believed that the veiled woman was very beautiful.

Seen from the bead of his black but reddening eyes, as well as the skin of his face that is faintly visible because it is not covered by a veil.

"Eh, it's okay mbak, we can go inside while meeting with the mbak family..... Oh yeah, whose name is mbak?" ask Hussein.

"I'm Farhana, if I may know, what does it mean to have a sister all here?"

"We want to be in touch while giving a little snack for the family mbak Farhana." replied Husein.

For some reason, he became the most enthusiastic to reply to Farhana's words.

"Sorry before, but this is how we live. Let's go inside." replied Farhana gently while opening the door wider.

Farhana walked first and the students followed behind her.

The students circulated their views to every corner of the room that was not spacious. No valuable furniture at all. Living and sleeping in one.

Then their gaze was fixed on the married couple lying on the bed. Nearby there is a pandan mat that is not too wide. Farhana let them sit on the mat of pandan. With a little bit of pressure they sat down.

"Abi, umi, there is a guest sister brother student" said Farhana slowly.

The couple slowly opened their eyes and circulated their gaze toward the young people sitting crammed on the mat.

"Ma-af, a-pa bennar, are you guys looking for sa-ya?" said Farhana's brother with a soft and heavy voice.

"Yes, sir, earlier, I'm sorry if our arrival here has disrupted the time of rest of your father and mother. We from one of the universities in this city, came here just to give a package of basic food for the family. Please accept yes sir." said Husein representing his friend.

He got up and put the package near the table, and sat down with his friends.

Careful not to offend Farhana, the students asked questions about the condition of their parents.

They also feel sad about the story of Farhana, because they have to drop out of college to keep their parents who are sick. Her ashes had a stroke, and she had kidney failure. But it costs nothing to take medication.

Husein continued to look towards Farhana as he told a story. Somehow the young man's heart felt touched by a little story of his life. His heart was driven to be able to help more.

Time went by so fast, they decided to go home. One by one they greeted Farhana and her parents. Farhana cupped her hands together in front of her chest while shaking hands with the opposite sex including Husein.

Husein became the last to shake hands. He placed a brown envelope containing money next to Farhana sitting.

"Hopefully this little thing can be useful for you and your family" said Husein while staring at Farhana.

"Thank you sister." said Farhana, bowing her gaze.

One by one they left the house. Farhana led them to the doorway. After they had passed through the courtyard, Farhana hurriedly closed the door of the house.

Without realizing it when he closed the door, Husein turned around and stared at the house long enough. Since then Husein's heart is filled by one name that continues to be attached until now.
