Brian's Awkwardness

The first day of work at Pertamina hospital, Brian was greeted in such a way by the hospital staff. The excitement also occurred among the hospital sisters due to the arrival of the handsome doctor. The furore was heard to Aralyne's ears.

"Did Brian's doctor really start working?" aralyne asked his assistant.

"Right Doc, do you know him?" ask sister Anel.

"The man was my college friend in England" replied Aralyne proudly.

"Have you seen him?" ask Aralyne.

Anel laughing. "We have a group chat nurse doc, I saw her picture."

Aralyne laughed. "You guys, so quick to gossip. I seem to be visiting there to greet him, how many patients are still waiting?" tanyakanya.

"There are 2 patients left" Anel replied.

"Alright, pause after those 2 patients. I'll see Brian for a second" Aralyne said.

"Deliver my greetings doc." said Anel seri seri.

Aralyne laughed in response. A few hours later after examining 2 pediatric patients, Aralyne immediately headed to Brian's room. Aralyne's arrival surprised Brian, he had not started dealing with patients but Aralyne's arrival would spread gossip among the hospital staff, and Brian's biggest fear was his lover Zean.

"Welcome, doctor Brian." said Aralyne, extending his hand.

Brian welcomes Aralyne's hand and unexpectedly the woman kisses his right and left cheek making Brian awkward.

"Don't you have my phone number, but why don't you call me and I don't even know if you started working here today" Aralyne said.

"Sorry I'm busy, how did you get here? Don't you have a patient?" ask Brian.

Aralyne shakes. "Nothing, I asked my assistant to pause to visit you. How about lunch, I'll treat you. Think of it as a sign that I welcome you." he said.

Brian shook his head. "Sorry, I already have an appointment this afternoon. Thank you very much for the attention of Dr. Aralyne."

"Aralyne, I feel far away if you call a doctor. All right, but next time don't turn me down. I'll call you. Where do you live? who knows we're one way." asked Aralyne.

The conversation made Brian uncomfortable. His mind always remembered Zean, he did not want his lover to misunderstand if until Zean heard and saw this incident.

"Brian, Brian...Hey Jatmiko.." said Aralyne.

"Ah. sorry Aralyne. What did you say?" ask Brian.

Aralyne laughed, the woman was indeed beautiful especially when laughing. "Geez, you're daydreaming. Forget it, I have another patient. I'll call you later."

"I'm sorry Aralyne." replied Brian.

Aralyne just waved her hand and left Brian's room. Brian threw his body into his chair.

"Oh my God, that woman is my friend but Zean really doesn't like me being in touch with her. But something like this is bound to happen because no matter how I am with him one hospital." murmured Brian as he closed his eyes.

"Dok, doc.." call doctor May.

Brian opened his eyes. "Sorry."

"I knocked on the door, but you didn't hear me. Ms. Fathema wants to see you." said Dr. Mei.

Brian nodded. "Thank you" he replied, rushing to see the hospital director.

After seeing the hospital director, Brian returned to his room again. Unexpectedly, he turned out to be a surgeon specifically dealing with VVIP patients, even though he had never operated on a single patient there. Professor of surgeons who wanted him to help VVIP patients operate. Although the task was tough but Brian felt recognized there.

Brian wants to quickly meet Zean to tell him about his new assignment and boast about himself. He smiled when he thought about it. The lunch hour had arrived, Brian immediately contacted Zean. But her lover did not pick up his phone, he immediately took his car keys and rushed to Polda. Halfway through the trip, his phone rang. Zean called her back.

"I'm almost at Polda dear." said Brian.

"Sorry Bri, I can't have lunch with you. I'm on an outside assignment with my men." replied Zean. "I'm sorry I just gave you the news now" he continued.

Brian pulled the car over and breathed. "It's okay baby, you're careful when you're on duty. Your father must be upset if his daughter's on the field."

"I just secured a football match on the pitch. You don't forget lunch, and I don't want you with other women, especially your college friends." Zean ordered.

"Based on the jealous cops, you don't forget Zee's lunch either." Brian replied.

Brian took a breath and turned his car back to the hospital, where he would try food in the hospital canteen.

Brian's arrival at the hospital staff's special canteen made a stir again. How not, he's one of the most handsome doctors there. But Brian barely cared about them all. He was grateful to meet his own staff.

"You have lunch here doc." said Doctor Robert.

Brian nodded. "My promise is off, so I'm back here."

"It seems you are disappointed, what is the promise with your lover?" ask Robert.

Brian smiles. "You're very curious, but yes that's how it is" he answered, carrying his tray of food looking for an empty table there.

Robert followed him. "Can I sit with you?"

"Of course doc, go ahead" said Brian.

Both enjoyed their lunch.

"I'm disappointed, you refused me to have lunch together just because of your appointment with another doctor" Aralyne said.

It turned out that the woman had been watching Brian since. Aralyne's greeting suddenly made Brian choke on his food. He looked at Aralyne's face as he forced his smile.

"Damn it, this is what I'm afraid of." Brian said in his heart.

"I didn't interrupt your promise, did I?" ask Aralyne.

"Of course not doc, please." replied Dr. Robert.

Aralyne is famous in Pertamina hospital because the woman is famous enough beautiful there. The woman sat down next to Brian.

"It seems you've mistaken doc, I don't have an appointment with Brian's doctor. We happened to meet here." said Robert.

"really?" aralyne asked, looking at Brian.

Brian nodded reluctantly. "I promise outside, but it's off because of something" he replied lazily.

"And it seems like Brian's doctor was very disappointed that his girlfriend canceled the appointment." Robert teased.

Aralyne's face was immediately shocked, he did not expect that Brian already had a lover. "Love? You have a lover?" tanyanya.

Brian smiles. "Doctor Robert started spreading rumors. I'm done eating, I have to see the director. I'm sorry Aralyne, I can't keep you company." she said looking for an excuse to avoid the woman. Brian woke up from his seat when the food was still a lot.

Aralyne was very disappointed with Brian's cold attitude, even though while studying in England Brian was always welcome with him. But the lover, Aralyne did not suspect if the man he liked turned out to have a lover.

"Like what a woman is her lover, and what a woman's job is. I have to find out, and I'm not just gonna give up until it's clear." Aralyne thought.

"Well doc, I can be with Dr. Robert if you have any other business. I'll call you later." said Aralyne covering up his disappointment.

Brian smiles. "Sorry doctor Robert, I'm handing my friend over to you" he said, leaving them.

Doctor Robert looked at Aralyne's face, there was a sense of disappointment seen on that beautiful face. "You know Dr Brian?" tanyakanya.

Aralyne nodded. "He was my college friend in England."

"Your friend, but it seems you're surprised to find out that Dr. Brian already has a girlfriend. It doesn't seem like you're that close." said Robert.

Aralyne smile. "I just heard about it now, because during college, I never saw her dating. So if he arrives to have a lover here, it's impossible. He just came back, just like me. It's just I'm faster working here."

Robert laughed at Aralyne's conviction. "I don't know exactly, either, just guessing. Doctor Brian's face was very disappointed when he took the food."

Aralyne sighed, he could breathe a sigh of relief because there was no certainty from Brian. Robert noticed the change in Aralyne's face, he could immediately guess if the woman liked Brian's doctor.

"You're a beautiful doctor, and Brian's doctor is very handsome. Looks like you can be a good match here." said Robert.

"Ah." said Aralyne in surprise. "You're getting whistled by the doctor" he continued.

Doctor Robert laughed again. "Okay, enjoy your lunch. I have an important job as well."

Aralyne nodded, the woman let Doctor Robert leave her alone. He continued his lunch before returning to work.
