Chapter 36: A story that repeats itself

Silent, dark and silent. That sight was the first time Nic saw when he woke up, he went to sit massaging his forehead that felt dizzy. He circulated the view, this room looked foreign, the objects contained in it none of which Nic recognized.

"Where is this?" Nic scrunched his forehead, as he looked at the back that was behind him. Nic's eyes widened instantly, he pulled the man to his supine position, then he turned on the lamp beside the bed. It turns out she's a woman, who turns out to be Cherry.

"Cherry!" Nic is surprised to find Cherry beside him, with her naked body and herself.

"Oh, Sitt!" Nic clucked in annoyance, this sight he had experienced before. Why does this have to happen again.

"Nic, are you awake?" ask Cherry in a raucous voice. The makeup that usually coats the skin of his face is now gone, only the pale face and eyebrows are visible.

"W-what happened?" Nic kept asking even though he knew the answer, "i only drank a little but how can I get drunk, after that I don't remember anything else?"

"You don't remember? Last night we were together, enjoying a special night, Nic." Cherry held her hand around Nic's neck, and put her chin on her shoulder.

"That's impossible, how could it happen? I don't even remember anything!" Nic began to raise his voice, his heart was very unacceptable with this incident. Cherry just kept quiet, staring at Nic rising up with a huffed face.

"Nic, I'm sorry, but this has happened. What's wrong with us having a relationship before marriage all lovers do that? Honey, I know you're a little different than most men, but this is happening anyway." Cherry shrugged her shoulders lightly.

Nic clucked as he walked into the bathroom with transparent glass. "Damn! Damnit. What have I done?" Nic flushes himself in the shower hoping that the problem dissolves with the running water.

After wearing a kimono towel Nic walked out, he sighed resignedly, after flushing himself with cold water his mind was quite calm. Cherry appears to sit down while playing a cellphone, her body wrapped in a blanket to the chest. She smiled sweetly at Nic, whom she only responded with a flat look.

'He looked happy, I was so unfair to him, if I said I regretted what happened, he was my fiancee and in the end we would get married. It's no matter how time can't be repeated.'

"Clean yourself and we go home." Nic.

"Aren't you mad at Nic?" Cherry stared in astonishment, even though she was already preparing for the possibility of facing Nic's tantrums.

"Why should I be angry, the one at a disadvantage here is you. The honor of a woman is in her pride, Cherry." Nic said as he walked towards the balcony.

'I don't want to repeat the same mistake. These words should have been thrown out when Khanza was in front of me at that time.'

Cherry was stunned, Nic's words so struck her heart, 'Hmph, a woman's honor is on her pride, that's for someone else Nic. I have no self-respect anymore.' Cherry gripped the end of the blanket she was wearing, to block the wind that hit her naked body.

Cherry and Nic come out together after they're dressed. David had been standing not far from them, it seemed that he had waited quite a long time there. David's eyes drew sharp on Nic, after the incident David as if waving a war flag, every time they met David always put a rogue face, a warning sign.

"We're having breakfast, Nic, I'm hungry." Cherry is wringing spoiled in Nic's arms, and the sight doesn't go unnoticed by David. David behaves more like Cherry's bodyguard than his assistant.

"You're more than a criminal to me, so I'm supposed to keep an eye on you." David replied flatly, this time he was the one driving.

Cherry came with a paper bag in her hand, and she came in and shut the door, "my dear I bought sweet bread, what do you want?"

"Just strawberry." Nic took a loaf of bread that read the taste he wanted.

"David, you want to?" bargaining Cherry, David just shook his head slowly, his gaze on Cherry was much different than on Nic.

"No, thank you, I've had breakfast." Reject David in a polite tone.

David first drives Nic to his house, "don't you stop by?" nic asked who was immediately responded by rejection by Cherry.

"No need Nic, next time, I have a show later in the day anyway, so I need to get ready." Cherry said clumsily, from her attitude it seems she was lying, but Nic did not care he then got out of David's car.

The car was already neatly poked up in front of the house, maybe David sent it. Some of the servants he met looked down respectfully, Nic only retorted with a slight nod without a smile. He walked towards the kitchen where his family used to gather at this hour.

"Nic, you just got home?" shelia's usual greeting greeted him with a smile.

Hem... Nic replied as he sat himself in one of the empty seats. No other questions came out of the mouth of Shelia or Richard, they were silent again only the sound of forks and knives clashing softly.

"Didn't Mami want to ask me where I was all night?" Nic tried fishing.

Shelia turned her head while throwing a smile, "you're an adult Nic, you're not a girl anyway, so I'm not too worried."

"What's wrong? Do you want to say something?" Richard asked with a sharp look, making Nic's guts instantly shrivel.

"There's nothing, Dad." Nic.

After talking to his mother and father for a while. Nic then went up to the second floor to his room.

Shelia looked at the back of the son who was slowly disappearing behind the wall.

"Richard, is everything gonna be okay? Honestly I'm a little scared, scared something's happened to Nic." Said Shelia with misgivings.

"Look, baby, now the game's in my control."
