Chapter 19: Family Harmony

Damn it, Nic should have forced me to drive him, right, why he chose to be with the girl, ' Cherry grumbled inwardly.

"Miss, where are we going now? Today you have no agenda." Said the assistant while glancing at Cherry from the rearview mirror.

"Just go home!" Answer Cherry ketus. The assistant also nodded obediently. The ringing of the phone made Cherry immediately show a tense facial expression.

"Ha-halo sir," said Cherry in a stammering voice.

[How are you, baby?] Ask the caller from anywhere.

"I'm-I'm good sir," Cherry replied as cold sweat began to flood her temples.

[Oh, great. Take care not to get hurt, you're my asset, baby.] He said, Cherry seemed to clench her hands.

"Sure sir, I'll take good care of myself." Cherry tried to be ordinary so that the caller didn't notice.

[Remember your job, do it well.] His voice sounded sternly different from before.

"Ba-good Sir!" After that, he ended his phone call. Cherry's body seemed to flounder, her breathing gasping as if she had run thousands of meters away.

"Miss," He appeared to show his worried face.

"What's wrong David, I'm fine." Cherry sighed neutralizing the situation back. David nodded his head to understand, but still he was worried about Cherry, but he had to remain professional Cherry was his boss he had to behave as he should.

"David, don't look at me that way, I know you feel sorry for me" Cherry said, throwing a glance out the window.

"W-what are you saying Miss, I don't think so," David quibbled.

Hmph, Cherry snorted no matter how David quibbled Cherry could still see from the way David looked at her, their relationship wasn't what people saw, "David, we've been friends for a long time, we've been friends, so stop feeling sorry for me."

"I don't love you, I admire you." David denied.

"Hmph, your admiration is throw it away, you know who I am." Cherry snorted while laughing softly, she seemed to be laughing at herself.

"But I-" David's words stopped as Cherry raised her hand to tell David to shut up, she was lazy to talk about something she shouldn't have discussed.

Khanza and Nic drive Arra home, Khanza and Nic stop for a while to meet Daren and Anna.

"Nic, Khanza, come here!" Daren seems to smile happily to meet two people who he already considers like his own son.

Khanza and Nic embrace Daren at a glance, which is what they often do when they meet, "how are you, son?" Daren patted Nic on the shoulder and looked at the handsome face, the child he once raised has now become a beautiful man.

"But remember our neighbor's foster girl?" Daren seems to be thinking of exploring his long-buried memories.

"Yes, yes I remember, that long haired girl who used to follow you, right, what's her name?"

"Cherry!"

"Yes, that's Cherry. When are you guys meeting again? Didn't he move out of the country, did he?" Ask Daren again.

"Oh, she's a model now." Daren nodded his head.

Anna came while holding the little Jade in her lap, she seemed to have just woken up.

"Hay Jade how are you?" Khanza approached Jade who still looked lethargic on Anna's lap.

"I'm good Brother" said Jade with a distinctive slurred voice of a three-year-old child.

"Here is Big Brother!" Jade turns to Khanza's lap and submerses herself to make herself as comfortable as possible. Arra came in after changing clothes after someone from behind.

"Hey you!" Nic's strangeness seems surprised, Nic does not know if Darius is Arra's cousin.

"Ah, Nic he's Darius Papi's nephew, he's Arra's cousin." Daren introduces them, Nic seems surprised but not with Khanza because he already knows he was cool in serving the babble little Jade.

"Khanza you know that he's Papi's nephew?" Nic asked in surprise because Khanza did not look surprised at all.

"Yes I already know," Khanza replied indifferently he was still cool playing with Jade.

After the introduction was completed, they also had dinner together, the atmosphere was enlivened by the brothers who were always noisy, and the atmosphere was always noisy, Arra even though he was an adult his attitude was still like a spoiled child and not willing to budge on Jade his sister made Anna scold him for being annoyed.

"Nic stay here tonight, you rarely come here, and it's night anyway." Daren.

"Daren's right, Nic, stay over, I don't know when you'll be here again." Timpal Anna, while Darius he just sat while listening to the conversation of the people in front of him.

"Alright, Auntie!" Nic agreed and Khanza automatically chose the same word.

After changing clothes with casual clothes provided by Anna they sat in the family room while eating snacks that have been prepared. Nic was joking with little Jade, while Arra he was whining to Daren because he wanted to buy tickets to his favorite boy band concert and Anna of course was lecturing her daughter with various tips typical of Mothers.

"This family is so much fun, isn't it?" Darius' words suddenly made Khanza immediately turn his head.

"Yes, they look very harmonious. Behind the anger of Aunt Anna he loved Arra very much and Om Daren's loving attitude complemented him." Khanza.

"What about your family?" Ask Darius suddenly.

Khanza smiled wryly, given the fact what the circumstances of his family were, he was born from a female actor to make him hate from any side.

"Emh, I don't have a family. My family is now Nic's, "Darius seems stunned, he feels guilty about the question.

"It's okay, just relax." Khanza commented a sweet smile on her lips.

"Then you're alone, what's your family like?" Khanza asked, actually he already knew a little about Darius from Arra this afternoon.

"My family's good, but not as warm as Om Daren's." His words, a look of sadness on his face, but it seemed that Darius was reluctant to say anything.

"Oh yeah, who's the woman you were with?" Khanza just remembered about the unexpected encounter with Darius at the restaurant earlier.
