Chapter 31: Engagement

Love will come because of mutual habit. Feelings will grow as time goes on.

Khanza touches Nic's shoulder on his back, something strange happens to him. Is it possible that Nic was just pretending to be drunk? The thought had crossed Khanza's mind, but he brushed it off, how could Nic kiss her in a conscious state.

"Well, you sleep Nic, maybe now you're nervous about your engagement. Then I'll go first." Khanza got out of bed and stared at Nic's back for a moment, then left.

A few days later, the day of the engagement arrived, Khanza helped to tidy up the white coat that Nic was wearing, not to forget he pinned a flower-tapped pin over one of his suit pockets. However, not once he looked at Nic's face, even to just greet each other no, and vice versa, they silenced each other.

"You're so handsome, baby, I hope this is the best choice you've ever made." Said Shelia while rubbing Nic's shoulder.

Khanza took a few steps back, letting Shelia and Richard talk to their son. Slowly Khanza moved away and out of the room without anyone noticing. He joined the hall and mingled with the guests present, he was already satisfied enough to help Nic dress earlier even though not a word was spoken from each other's lips. Silence seems to be the best way to calm down, in the midst of a constantly turbulent heart.

The show begins, the MC leads and tells Nic and Cherry to come forward. Blah...Blah...All sorts of pleasantries and discussions about the love of the two people were peeled in such a way, do not forget they display photos of Nic and Cherry during childhood and after they grow up, and some photos after they're dating. All were greeted enthusiastically by the guests present, boisterous claps and cheers filled the entire room.

Khanza caught the look on Nic's flat face, only once smiling slowly. The happiness at the beginning of Nic dating Cherry seemed to disappear without a trace. Their views met for a few seconds, but Khanza quickly disconnected, a sense that was difficult to express.

"Khanza?!" A greeting from someone diverts his or her attention.

"Hay Sister," it turns out that Arra and Darius, they appear to be wearing matching clothes. They had just arrived apparently, then they were sitting joined at the same table with Khanza.

"Hay Arra, Darius! Om Daren and Aunt Anna haven't come yet?" Khanza asked.

"They're there." Point Arra to the front row of seats. Actually, Khanza's seat was there too, but he was reluctant and preferred to sit in the corner.

"You guys should be sitting there too" Khanza said.

"Good ah, I want to sit down with Brother." Arra refused, and so did Darius. Khanza smiled, of course Arra knew why Khanza chose to be the back, girls like Arra are quite sensitive to his current mood. Darius, too, seems to know the truth about Khanza even though he never said it himself.

"Za, why the hell would you choose to remain silent when there are obviously many opportunities for you to say that you have feelings for her." Anxious Darius immediately raised a question from his lips. Arra and Khanza stared at him.

"What feeling?" Khanza pretended not to understand.

"Sister Darius is right, brother, I see that Brother Nic also has feelings for Brother, only he has not noticed it." Arra added.

"You're all right, if anyone knows how? Can run into his business later," Khanza told them to shut up in a low voice, "again, I consider Nic only a friend, nothing more, and vice versa. Even we're more like brothers, okay, how many times do I have to say." Khanza jengah.

"But what?" ask Khanza.

Darius swallowed his Saliva, "he also has feelings for you. You remember when we had dinner together at the cafe," Khanza nodded, "it was Nic there too, he told me about your arrival, and told me to drive you home."

"Huh, is he there? But, why didn't he see me?" Khanza was flabbergasted in surprise.

"So, he didn't say why. But, chances are she's already aware of her feelings for you Khanza, so she's decided to call off her engagement. But, that night Cherry threatened to kill herself, so she had no choice but to agree to their engagement, I think so." Darius' words make sense.

"Sister Darius's words sound reasonable, you've been together since you were little, you may actually feel much deeper than you imagine, it's just that you two find it hard to say." Arra so you know, made Khanza chuckle softly.

"All right, all right, maybe you're right. But, you see now, the person Nic loves is in front of him. I can't deny maybe yes, Nic has other feelings for me, but he already has a partner now just to wait for the time for them to get married. I don't want to impose my desires on Nic, let him with his life and me with mine, and maybe his feelings for me are just a form of mutual comfort and familiarity. Soon after I leave, she will soon forget me." Khanza explained at length.

"Is Brother going?" Arra widened his eyes as if he could not believe what he was hearing. Khanza nodded with a smile.

"Where are you going, brother?" Urge Arra with a glazed look.

"I've already proposed a job transfer abroad, not anywhere else I'm still in touch with the Nelson family. Mami had a family company, so I volunteered to move there." Khanza shrugged his shoulders lightly.

"Aah, Brother. We will rarely meet." Arra rubbed the corner of his eyes that looked wet.

"Arra, if the school holidays can come there. The place is beautiful and cool, you'll love it." Khanza hugged Arra's body at a glance.

"You sure you're going?" Darius seemed worried.

"Yes, my new life starts now too." Khanza smile.

With that ended the engagement of Nic and Cherry. They are officially engaged now, Cherry seems to smile happily as they capture the moment with a photo together. Nic also seemed to be able to smile, even though he still looked stiff.

"Congratulations on your engagement!" Darius, Arra, and Khanza say it at the same time. Cherry's gaze immediately led to Khanza, she immediately took Nic's hand, afraid that the man next to her was taken away by others.

Arra turns the eyeball lazy, from the beginning he does not like Cherry, "Kak Khanza let's eat it," asked Arra although Khanza has not said anything else for just a pleasantie.

"Emh, Nic, Cherry, congratulations to you. May you be together forever." Khanza smiled softly, Nic just kept quiet and replied to Khanza's words with a nod.

"Of course, we'll be together forever, because our love will never be swayed by anything." Reply Cherry.

"That's great. Then excuse me!" Tuke Darius. Khanza, Arra and Darius passed. Nic still remained silent as if a voice suddenly disappeared from his throat.
