Rita coughed in her room. He felt like his throat was itching like there was something in there.
"Drink first, Madam," said Dwi with a glass of warm water in her hand.
The white water in the glass was half left when Rita returned it. He feels better.
It had been almost two months that he had not fallen ill, but now the pain was back again.
The door of the room opened and Riani was seen stepping inside. "How are you doing today?"
Rita smiles. "It's better."
Riani sat her body on the side of the bed close to where Rita was lying. He felt better during the day even though every night he was constantly overwhelmed with fear.
"Don't forget to take the medicine, ma'am." Riani massaged one of her mother's legs.
While Rita nodded while smiling a little. "It's almost eight and a half, you're late." His eyes glanced at the wall clock.
Riani looked in the same direction, she looked towards the old orange-colored wall clock with a long needle pointing to the number four.
"If that's what I'm going to do first, Mom." Riani moved from her seat. He turned to look at Dwi who was still standing close to the bed. "Mba Dwi, please take care of my mother."
The housekeeper was respectful. "Ready, Miss Riani."
Dwi's behavior made Riani smile. Riani grabbed her mother's hand, she kissed the back of the hand for longer than usual.
"I'm leaving first, ma'am," Riani said for the second time.
While Rita nodded her head and smiled. "Be careful, son."
Actually Riani did not have the heart to leave her mother alone at home in such a weak helpless state. Several times also Riani asked her mother to go to the hospital, but Rita refused on the grounds she was just an ordinary pain merrily.
Moreover, he kept on remembering the message given by Fella when he met her almost three months ago. He did not want to fate the same as Fella who regretted not being able to take care of her mother well.
Though the state of Rita is far from the usual carefree word. He could only slump weakly on the bed with a pale face. Every night, he screams loudly and when he is seen being closed, having nightmares.
But every time Riani asked, Rita never wanted to answer. The same thing Rita always says is forgetting. He forgot his nightmare, how could it be?
Today Riani is not working wholeheartedly. His movements are weak, there is no passion.
"Ri, what the hell are you doing? From earlier seen how rich lemes is that?"
"Eh, Di-Difki," said Riani, surprised to realize that the man was not far from her. "I-I'm not papa." Riani smiled stiffly.
"Aren't you weak, tired, lethargic, you sick?"
Riani smiled, she shook her head.
"Don't do so later if the boss sees you can get reprimanded." Difki. "I went to work first, Ri."
"Yes, thank you, Difki."
The man passed by leaving Riani who was still standing in the same place.
"Half hour rest" said Riani, who continued her work even though she was not excited.
Riani breathed a long breath. "Fifteen minutes to go." He resumed his work.
Until finally after going through a day that felt longer, Riani looked at the wall clock that had shown twelve o'clock exactly.
He moved from his seat and saw Tri who was stepping closer to him. "Tri, are you leaving at noon today?'
"Yes, yeah." Tri nodded. "Males, where's Sunday tomorrow. Should be going out tonight with my boyfriend."
Hearing Tri's reply, Riani chuckled. "Prophey, Tri."
Not wanting to waste any time off, Riani immediately walked into the employee room. Inside there are already many employees who occupy the mattress to take a nap for a while.
Riani decides to take her smartphone inside the locker.
Riani: Mom, how are you?
She was very worried about her mother at home. The short message was sent to Rita but Rita's messaging account was off. Seen in the top left just below the name of her mother's last active contact at ten this morning.
Riani: Mba, you're fine, right?
Unable to get a reply because Rita's messaging account is also still inactive, Riani decided to send a short message to Dwi.
Half an hour had passed and all the sleeping employees one by one began to wake up. Some cook and some just come home from the food court with food.
Riani took the lunchbox inside the locker. This afternoon he brought rice with eggplok made by Dwi.
"I ate with you, Ri." Nindira came with food wrapped in rice paper.
"Oh, may, may, please, Ra," said Riani who then slightly retreated to provide a place for Nindira.
"Thank you, Ri." He started eating his lunch very well. "Oh yeah, where do you plan to go on New Year's Eve?"
Riani. "There's not yet, Ra. Usually rent a villa or go where the same father and mother. But now my father does not exist. I also can't drive a car, there's no bike. You know for yourself I'll always go on public transport."
"I haven't been away for a long time on New Year's Eve. Last year failed to go with my ex because of heavy rain, a year before I had another test so had to study, now I do not know where to go, but I want to where to go." Nindira looked sad, she still continued to devour her lunch. "Where do you have an idea? I'll pick you up later, transport problems let me take care of."
While chewing the food, Riani thought for a while. "Where is it good?"
"Ira, Riani, where do you plan to go on New Year's Eve?"
"Well, we talked about that again, Dif," Nindira said. "Where are we going?"
"Hem ... Just think about it first." Difki propping chin.
While Riani was still continuing to eat her lunch, she allowed the two people to think.
For Riani now, she did not care if she would go where with whom. The sense of loss of his father is still impregnated, he still does not even think that his father has not existed in some time since the departure of his father.
"So Bagas made sure I was, but he knew himself that his words were hard to hold."
"Where's she going, Dif?" ask Nindira immediately. "But how many of his plans did not fail, when last July he planned to go to the beach too we so go right?"
