“So you're the traitor? You betrayed me?” Alex's fury is full of rage.
Nina was still motionless.
“During this time, I always thought William..” Alex said as he stared intently at Nina. “It turns out the mouse is you, the woman I trust the most more than my own wife.” It's Alex again.
Nina's tears started to flow. He did it to avenge Alex, to make the Midas family pay for the crimes committed by Mr. Stephen in the past. But hearing Alex's accusations at this time, it really made Nina's heart hurt.
“And slice it, I almost married you.” Alex laughed sinisterly while looking with a look of disdain at Nina. “Married the woman I thought was precious and loved me, but it turned out to be nothing more than a traitorous rat!”
“Mari, Mr. Alex. We leave.” Cut Captain Rey to melt the atmosphere. “Because it looks like there will be no wedding today, so let's leave this place soon.”
“Prison him, Dave.” Alex's orders were cold while glancing at Daffin. “Turn his power over Midas and Crystal, then imprison him for abuse of authority.”
Immediately after saying that Alex left, led by Captain Rey and his men to return to the rutan.
Nina slumped to the floor immediately after Alex's departure. Her tears continued to flow even though no sobs came out of her mouth. He sat quietly while occasionally wiping his tears. And when Nina suddenly remembered the fate of the fetus she contained, she stroked her stomach slowly.
Daffin squatted in front of Nina with a concerned face. He did not say a word, only remained silent while looking at Nina. His heart was touched to see how devastated the woman was. The woman who was usually so fierce and persistent against him, now lost her power.
Nina raised her head when she saw the movement in front of her. His tears were wiped out, and he stared hard at Daffin.
“Just unplug my power and throw me in jail, just like your papa ordered. I don't care anymore even if I'm sentenced to death. I'm tired, too tired to face all this. Just do what you have to do.” His words with a trembling voice held back his cries.
Daffin stood up and walked over, then rested on his knees before Nina. A determination was drawn on his face. With his pocket of pants slowly, he took out a diamond ring that he had once pinned on Nina's ring finger when he proposed to her with a threat. The ring was tucked between Nina's personal documents she gave Daffin when Daffin came to take care of Alex and Nina's wedding documents. Nina accidentally slips it in with the intention of returning the ring to Daffin.
“I can save you.” Said Daffin quietly as he stretched out the ring. “Need you know, I sincerely love you. I was thinking about my sister too. We can raise him as our son.” He said as he continued to hold the ring and faced it to Nina.
Nina was silent, her eyes alternately looking at Daffin and the ring in her hand.
“Wait!” Daffin cried, then he quickly grasped Nina's hand. “Decide now, Darling.” Soft words.
Nina gasped at the friendly nickname spoken by Daffin. Her eyes looked doubtfully at Daffin, but upon seeing Daffin's sincere smile, Nina nodded her head.
“Pak, Sir, we are so married!” Excitedly Daffin stood up and caught the arm of the officer who was preparing to leave.
“Loh, so sir? But the bride is..” The registrar is confused.
“I replaced him.” Said Daffin with a radiant face. “Use my name, this is my passport. My other documents will be submitted tomorrow.” Connect Daffin again.
“Quick pack.” Add Daffin again while inserting a wad of money into the bag at the clerk, making him more confused. The officer immediately reopened the documents and made revisions here and there, crossed out Alex's name and replaced it with Daffin's.
While the officer prepared his documents, Daffin led Nina to stand before the officer.
“You sure?” Nina asked, still with a doubtful look.
“I've never been this sure.” Said Daffin with a smile.
“But I betrayed your father, ruined your parents' marriage.” Nina said again. His voice still shook withstanding the crying.
“My love is blind,” Daffin said as he stroked Nina's cheek, wiped her tears, “But can see in the darkness.” He nodded with a smile. “I see the heavy burden of your life. Your actions are the result of my family's behavior as well. Counting down, I paid for the mistakes made by my grandfather and father. Hopefully after this, everything can improve and there are no more grudges between our families.”
Nina sobbed, permeating Daffin's words.
Finally, that day, in the hospital room, the marriage took place between Karenina Crystal Clementine and Ranedave Hanson Midas.
