Chapter 81 Time Limits

Grandma Han, the Great Mistress, was lying weakly on the intensive care bed, accompanied by Emma who was already allowed to sit by her side after waiting for several hours. The cold room with the smell of disinfectant was becoming increasingly quiet, when the grandmother was unable to open her eyes which were getting weaker.

"Ne... Nek....," called Emma softly, while holding her hand that already had many wrinkles. However, the one getting the call was unable to answer, in fact, still not in a conscious state. Emma's tears glistened, spilled from the puddle of her fertilizer that was not able to hold. His heart ached and was crushed to see the state of his grandmother who was already on the verge of death.

"Yes, meet me Doctor Lina" said the gentle doctor. "I'm sorry, but I have to say this, even with a heavy heart," said Doctor Lina softly.

Emma felt something stabbing her heart when Doctor Lina said that. The feeling is not good, what is it?

"Please, Doctor," said Emma softly. His head bowed, he could not help his expression of sadness.

"Based on our observation, it seems that the development of Grandma Han's condition is insignificant. I'm sorry, I have to tell you that his life won't be long. Although we have done everything we can, her body is no longer able to hold on," Doctor Lina said in a soft but firm voice.

Emma nodded slowly, trying to calm herself down and focusing her attention on Doctor Lina's words.

"Thank you for your cooperation and concern, Emma," said Lina. "We'll do everything we can to keep Grandma Han comfortable and make sure that she doesn't feel alone. If there is any special need or last request from Grandma Han, please let us know."

Emma nodded, realizing that she had an important role in providing presence and support to Granny Han.

"Then I say yes" said Doctor Lina leaving Emma. He wanted to make room for her to be with Grandma Han in these limited moments. Emma tried to calm herself down, and with gentleness, she approached Grandma Han, holding her hand lovingly.

"Grandmother, I'm here for you" whispered Emma in a soft voice. "Me and Luke will give you infinite comfort and love. Don't worry, Grandma. We'll take good care of you" Emma whispered in a warm voice.

Shortly afterwards, Luke appears to have entered the room at a slow pace. Her tears are just like Emma's. When she saw her grandmother's helpless condition.

"Grandmother..," she called out softly, while looking towards Granny Han with an expression full of sadness and fatigue. He walked over to the bed, putting his soft hand on Grandma Han's fragile-lying hand.

"My grandmother" whispered Luke in a soft voice. "I'm here, with you. Sorry, I'm late."

Emma's cry grew louder, seeing how much love Luke had for his Grandmother. They are the only family left in the Kim Clan, after Lady Han married Luke's grandfather, decades ago. Their togetherness that had been separated, finally reunited, with a very strong relationship. They have gone through the joys and sorrows together. However, this time, Luke and the Grandmother are faced with an inevitable separation.

Time was slow in the room, and an atmosphere of warmth and love was present between the two generations that strengthened each other. Despite being in a grieving situation, they tried to stick to the power of their love and presence for Granny Han.

That night, Emma and Luke sit next to Grandma Han's bed that is getting weaker. They told me about the good memories with Grandma, reminiscing about the happy moments they had together. They share laughter and tears, strengthening each other in the face of difficult times.

In the end, Grandma opened her eyes slowly. Though unable to speak, however, he could still feel the presence of Luke and Emma breaking the silence in his room.

"Grandmother..," call them enthusiastically. Grandma Han blinked her eyes, responding to their call with a simple gesture. Luke and Emma clasped each other, sharing their joy as grandmother was able to open her eyes.

"Well, interesting. It seems, my plan will be successful soon" Lucy murmured as she passed from the intensive room. Lucy accidentally steals the talk of Emma and the Doctor showing the deadline for Ms. Han's life. Lucy, who happens to want to visit while prying information about her longtime lover, Luke, accidentally gets a bigger ingredient in the follow-up action. He can't wait to get into action and conquer the idol, even with threats.
