Chapter 43 Room of Asmara

"Hey, why are you crying?"

In the midst of the confusion felt by Emma, there was the sound of someone surprising her. Emma raised her face filled with tears, unable to believe what she saw.

"Ri-ryan?" he said while wiping away the tears that had soaked his entire face. Ryan sat in front of Emma and gently rubbed every grain of water that was pouring down from her eyes.

"Don't cry" said Ryan, raising Emma's face and pulling her line of smiles. Although her face was still filled with sadness, Emma's smile was still beautiful.

"Ryan.." call Emma soft, then pull Ryan's arm to get closer to her. He then cried in the arms of the man.

Ryan looks worried. He was afraid that the atmosphere that made this misunderstanding would continue to haunt him. It felt like Ryan was letting go of this stifling close hug so as not to drift away in his own delusion. However, Ryan has promised himself that Emma's happiness is far more important than her obsession. If possible, Ryan wants to bury Luke's status and become his successor as Emma's husband.

Emma felt guilty for using Ryan only when she was sad. "Why are you here? Didn't you just go home?" emma asked while removing the remains of tears with a handkerchief given by Ryan.

"Emma, my house is near here. Why are you running so far away? You're not even wearing shoes. I saw you from the minimarket, so I chased you to make sure" Ryan said.

Emma only realized that she had run very far because of the chaos in her mind. It was lucky for Emma, because earlier, the gatekeeper was asleep so that she could escape from the mansion area. Without realizing it, Emma was already quite far from her home.

"Say, what's the problem?" ryan asked with sympathy. "Are you having another fight with Luke?"

"i-it's. Eums... Just ignore my problem. I cannot tell my husband's disgrace. Thank you, once again. I really don't know how to repay your kindness" Emma said in embarrassment. Ryan just smiled at Emma who was too limiting herself.

"Emma, I'm your friend. You don't have to feel sad. I have a lot of friends who owe me tens of millions and they don't even pay or apologize as much as you do. So, take it easy" Ryan said to comfort Emma so she doesn't feel burdened. The girl smiled again. He tried to get up, but his leg hurt.

"Want me to drive you home?" Ryan offered himself.

"Ehm, no. I don't want to go home now. But, I don't know where to go either." Emma muttered confusedly.

Ryan tries to think for a moment and offers Emma to spend the night in her apartment, which is also not far from their current location. However, Emma refused. It will only provoke scandal and have a bad impact on both of them.

"Is there any other idea?" ask Ryan.

Emma seemed to think for a moment, then looked towards the towering building that was burning brightly. "Ryan, you know that Halton Hotel?" ask Emma.

"of course. Want to stay there? Come on, I'll take it, " Ryan said enthusiastically.

"Eum.. The thing is, I didn't even bring anything. My clothes are still sleepwear. There was one thing that happened earlier, so I ran away. " Emma said in a confused state.

Emma was relieved and greatly appreciated Ryan's kindness. "Thank you again, Ryan. You are a true friend" Emma said with deep gratitude.

Emma smiles shyly and enjoys the moment of warmth given by Ryan. However, his conscience was jolted. She then realized that her status was no longer as a single woman. Emma has a husband.

"Pardon me," Emma brushed aside Ryan's hand which exuded an aura of tenderness and warmth. Emma was worried that she would get carried away and commit sins as her husband had done.

Ryan could not ignore the urge of his passion to keep approaching the fragile and seductive-looking Emma. However, he soon reminds himself of Emma's marital status. 'Dangerous. I can't be a jerk. Awake, Ryan! She's the wife of the man!' the mind is turbulent, as if giving a clear boundary between a passion and the order of Susila norms.

"Good job! It's a big catch!" muttered a paparazzi with raging enthusiasm, as if he had just discovered a buried treasure.
