Chapter 51 Intrigue Lucy

In the scorching sun this afternoon, there was another heat radiating from Lucy's body: her desire to quickly reclaim Luke, just as it had been a few years before. For Lucy, Luke is a wrapped parcel box that has not opened all its contents. He was still curious and excited, when he remembered all the possible memories behind it. "Hopefully, there's still room in your heart for me, Lukas," he muttered from the cabin of a car playing hip-hop music as an entertainer as he drove alone.

Lukas agreed to their meeting at an Italian pasta restaurant not far from the K-Group tower. Lucy was forced to agree despite having to drive about 40 minutes to get there, because the location of Lucy's office is quite far from South Jakarta.

Shortly after, Lucy finally arrives at the meeting location as scheduled. Since Luke and Lucy are both busy, they must meet on time before proceeding with their other agenda.

"Have you made a reservation, ma'am?" ask a guard who opens the door for her.

"Yes, in the name of Luke Kim," Lucy replied firmly.

"good. Go ahead." replied the guard while calling a servant who looked leisurely to deliver Lucy to the table and recorded her order. Luke was already at their table, glancing at his watch as he waited for Lucy's arrival.

"Luke!" call Lucy from the entrance. Luke who was sitting, immediately looked back.

"Hi!" Luke got up and hugged his friend warmly. They hadn't seen each other for a long time, about 4 years. Lucy has moved to Canada and is married. A situation that was quite a blow to Luke at that time, because they were still in a relationship. However, Luke can't do anything, because Lucy's mother doesn't approve of them either. After Lucy's marriage, they often share news via social media, to maintain friendship.

"Sit down," asked Luke while pulling up a chair so that Lucy could sit comfortably. Lucy sat down and smiled meaningfully at Luke.

"You haven't changed yet huh," Lucy said with a teasing smile. Luke simply chuckled and pinched Lucy's cheek in a fit of anxiety. "Of course, it's just, I'm married too, just like you," he said later.

"What's? Did ya? It's a pity, even though I've been widowed like this. I think we can start over again, Luke," Lucy teased trying to throw the bait.

"really!? Since when did you become a widow? Sorry to hear that," Lukas said in a sympathetic tone, as if feeling the pain of Lucy who no longer has a husband.

"Ah, it's okay. It's not a bad thing to be a widow. Instead of being free," said Lucy refused to be pitied. Luke should have cast a temptation back, not a show of sympathy. Lucy was upset.

"alright... So, what brings you back to Indonesia? Is there a new business?" luke asked as he scooped up the salad pieces available on their table. "Oh, before, please order first," he added, realizing that Luke had already ordered food in advance while waiting for Lucy.

"I'll also order caesar salad and beef steak. No need to dessert, I'll be fat" Lucy told a waitress who had been waiting for her since.

"Okay, please wait a minute" said the waiter before leaving.

"Oh yeah, I took over my grandfather's business, Hains Construction. Sorry yes, there has been a scandal involving your company recently" Lucy said with a meaningful look. Lukas is a little surprised to hear that because he thinks Lucy will continue her mother's business in fashion. As it turns out, Lucy decides to switch lanes and manage a family business that even her mother doesn't want.

"Oh, it's okay... The case is over, I heard that Miss Olivia has also been fired" Lukas said lightly. Lucy smiles with a feeling of triumph, signifying that there is no grudge stored in Luke's heart. It was a good sign to start taking her heart back.

"So tell me about your wife" asked Lucy, after receiving the caesar salad that the waiter had just delivered. He starts picking up a piece of salad while enjoying time with Luke, the man who was once his true love.

"Ah, yes. Eums.. Our... We got married abroad, so there wasn't much news. We want to keep that moment private and intimate. My wife is very beautiful and kind. One day, I'll introduce you to her" Luke replied hesitantly, trying to hide a lie about his lightning marriage to Emma.

Lucy simply smiled blandly, as if she was processing the information she heard. Apparently, Luke loved his wife very much.

"Oh, have you ever heard of Virgin Island? I have a resort there. I'd like to take you on a business meeting. Whaddya think? But of course, you can't bring a partner. It's a serious business trip. I want us to work together on the development of the island" Lucy said, trying to offer Luke the opportunity to go alone with him.

"Really! I've heard that the island is undergoing development. Wow, that's amazing! We can set the schedule. I'll take care of it" Lukas replied enthusiastically.

'Yes!' lucy is relieved to realize that her plan to spend time together with Luke is progressing smoothly.

"What about next month? Does it fit?" tanyanya.

"Well, I'll schedule it" Luke said with a smile.

Lucy can't stop looking at Lukas who is getting handsome and mature, along with the success and growth of his company. If he can get Luke in his grasp, then Lucy's future will shine brightly and she will rule the world of the invincible construction business.

"Thank you for dinner, Luke. I really enjoyed it" Lucy said after finishing the meal.

"Sorry, I have to go somewhere else now. I hope we can meet again soon" said Lukas after paying their bills at the cashier's desk. Lucy followed him from behind without any objections. "I have to go too. See you," she said politely. They eventually part ways and return to each other's busy routines.

'Just wait, Luke. I'll get you to bend your knees to me back' his inner self while sitting in the car and back to his office with a triumphant smile.

Lukas, who owns a black money lending business, never remembers Gery as one of his debtors. Luke's money lending business is in great demand because it imposes interest that is not too high with a very long installment period, even up to three years. Therefore, many gamblers often borrow money from it.

"S-I'm a new player, sir. And damn it.." his voice suddenly choked.

"I've asked, where did you spend the money??? Why even confide!" sergeant Luke, don't want to hear a reason.

"Emmm... Th-that's... On Virgin Island, Mister!" he said with trembling.

"Roy, there's a lot of scandals going on on the island. It seems I have to go and investigate" Lukas said meaningfully.

"Since when did the Boss become Spiderman? Why would the boss interfere with security there?" joking Roy, but behind his jokes lies an unheard of truth. Roy certainly does not want Lukas injured or face problems due to his curiosity that is not too important.
