Two Red Lines
Rain repeatedly read how to use the tespack that He now holds in his hand.
"Lho, haven't tried yet?" Ask Ega who just entered the room after praying shubuh.
"Fear disappointed, Mum". Answer Rain grasped tightly the pregnancy test device.
"Let's try it first, then the results let me see first". Ega approached his wife and led her step into the bathroom. But, Rain's steps came to a halt on the door's lips. Between yes and no.
"What about negative?" Rain looked at her husband who was still wearing cocoa, handsome.
"We immediately make again after this, there is still time before leaving for college". Ega looked up at the wall clock that showed at 05:15.
"Iish, Mum. Your mind is that". Rain snorted in annoyance and stomped his feet into the bathroom and slammed the door hard.
"Rain, shy continue to be given good as well".
"I heard you, Mas. Your mouth has to be sewn up". Shouted Rain which only Ega replied with a naughty giggle.
10 Minutes later.
Rain opened the bathroom door while closing his eyes and carrying the tespack in his grasp.
"Mas, where are you? I can't see it. I'm afraid you're disappointed". Rain shouted to call her husband who was still in early position, faithfully waiting for his wife.
Ega slightly grimaced because the sound of Rain's scream just now was right in her ear. Ega did not answer, let Rain think if he was far away.
"Why yell?". I spoke after a few seconds of silence.
"Look at the results!" Rain still closed his eyes and thrust the tespack into any direction because he really could not see the whereabouts of her husband.
"If you're positive, are you happy?" Ask Ega without taking the tespack even though Rain has raised and moved his hand.
"Obviously happy, Mas". Rain began to feel his hands ache.
"If it's negative, what?" Ega still had not taken the testpack, standing leaning against the wall by folding both hands on her chest. Clearly, Ega himself was made nervous by the reality he was about to face. He's just stalling.
"As you said, we're doing it again right now!" Rain's reply made her smile widely, and slowly took the pregnancy test kit.
The Tespack was already perfectly within his grasp. There are two red lines there. And, Ega immediately hugged Rain showering her head with a kiss while not stopping to give thanks
"Allhamdullillah"
Rain did not fully understand her husband's condition, slowly opened her eyes and took the testpack out of Ega's hands. Tears of happiness were on her cheeks.
"Positive, Mom". He said softly with a loud voice. Ega sobbed her cheeks already flooded with tears. They hugged each other enjoying the warm feeling that ran through the heart and shared that happiness.
'Mom, Dad. In the past, was this how happy you felt when you knew there would be Me in your life?' Inner Rain.
For a long time they cried hugging each other, until finally Rain's phone rang,
"Deliver, Mas. I gotta pick up the phone". Rain unraveled her hug, immediately receiving a call from Mother.
📞Assallamoallaikum, Mom.
📞 Waalaikumsallaam, Rain. Mom was waiting for you downstairs. You bring breakfast, said your Aunt sick until rarely cook?
📞 Just lemes, Mom. Yes, Rain is the same Mas down.
"Come, Mas. There's Mama". Rain passed by leaving her husband while running around carrying the pregnancy test kit to show Mom and Aunt.
The feeling of weakness and dizziness disappeared somewhere. His hair was broken He didn't care. He immediately rushed into his mother's embrace when the figure caught his eyes sitting in the dining room with Auntie.
"Buuu, Rain is pregnant. I'll have a grandchild". Rain unraveled her hug while showing the pregnancy test kit. Mother grabbed him with teary eyes while closing her mouth.
"Allhamdullillah"
"Congratulations, you two will be parents". Mother looked at the child and daughter-in-law in turn.
"Thank you, Mom". Ega and Rain compactly replied.
"Well, it's not in vain, A. Every day with shampoo. Congratulations yaa". Aunty giggled to herself with her sentence making Rain blush.
"Not every day either, Bi. Not last night. He drowned first before fulfilling his duty". Ega took out his wife's chin and got a hard blow to his chest in return.
"Oh, let's have breakfast. I made you chicken porridge". Mother pointed to the chicken porridge that had been neatly stored on the dining table.
Suddenly Rain felt nauseous smelling the characteristic porridge scent with the smell of fried onions and celery.
"Occuby, owek". Rain ran towards the sink. But only the yellowish clear liquid that He spewed out. Ega followed him. He massaged the nape of his wife who was still trying to remove the liquid.
"Sorry, Mas. You have breakfast, yes. I slept first yeah". Rain pinched his forehead, dizzy returning to his head. The bitter taste from the throat to the mouth makes him vomit again until his stomach feels cramping.
"Mom, Rain why gini?". Ega screamed frantically calling for her in-laws. Mother is actually not surprised, considering things like this will be common in young pregnant women.
"Here, don't panic. This is common in pregnant women. You guys go check with the doctor. Let me make you some warm tea". Mother rubbed Rain's back gently.
"Let me do it, where do you want to sit?" Ega holds Rain's shoulder.
"I'm here first, afraid I'll be sick again". Rain shook his head and his stomach turned back nauseous.
"Mom's back at the dinner table". Said Ega and was taken by Mother.
Ega takes tea in one of the spaces in the kitchen set. He purposely made it on Rain's beloved big glass. When his hands finished filling the glass with hot water and dipping the tea. Suddenly Rain's hands coiled around her stomach, Rain hugged her husband from behind.
"Hey, why?" Ega rubbed the back of his wife's hand and sensed that his wife's head was leaning against her back.
"False, Mas. I think in your brain there's just a pervert. It turns out you really love me".
"Obviously I love you dong" Ega laughed without letting go of her elbow from the back of Rain's hand.
"Dear I'm with Dedek?" Rain chuckled softly, feeling amused himself saying the word "Dedek".
Ega turned his body and hugged his wife tightly.
"Yes, sure. Dear Dedek and his Ummah". Ega kissed the head of his wife while continuing to stroke her back.
"The call of Ummah is too precious for Me who still has many sins, Mas". Rain parsed his hugs and looked up his head. The crying has stopped.
"What do you want to call it?" Ega cupped the two smooth cheeks, his nose was very red.
"Eemm Mother, may?" Rain squinted his eyes.
"Byeah, dear" Ega rubbed a glimpse of his wife's face.
"Well, let me be healthy with Dedek". Rain stroked his queen's stomach which was no longer nauseous.
"Even the angels will take care of you, dear" Ega bowed her body, fusing her forehead with Rain's forehead.
"Jealous also that angels are taking care of me?" Rain plainly asked like that.
Ega laughed at the words of his wife who was very tickling.
"Why don't you ever run out of words to answer me anyway. Damn, I could never win" Ega ruffled his wife's hair and Rain laughed. For a moment the nausea and dizziness disappeared.
"So you still want to continue the drama this morning until the porridge is cold and not good to eat? Then, I'll just go home!" Mom's shout from the dining table made Rain and Ega meet and immediately approached Mother running around.
