Don't Promise

Mr. Riko did not take his eyes off Rain with a faint smile on his lips. The one who saw it felt uncomfortable.

"Sir Riko, don't think about Rain. She's my wife, sir!" Excited Ega approached towards Rain. Mr. Riko laughed, he said

"Mas Ragga is a lot like a boss".

Ega just put on an annoyed face while pulling Rain out of the room and sat in the waiting chair.

"You're what the hell, Mas. Your mind is too far away. Don't you get jealous of Yugo?" Rain hit Ega's shoulder slowly.

"Diem here, I'm the one who spoke to Mr. Riko"

Ega left Rain in front of the room. Massaging his forehead. Her head ached at the thought of her husband's changing attitude.

Ega returned to the bed side of Mr. Riko and said without further ado

"I want Mr. Riko to tell me the truth. The past between my parents and Rain". Riko looked at Ega upset,

"Mas Ragga could speak like that in my condition"

Rain sat down to bow his face in the waiting chair. Ega sat down beside him. Silent. For a while both of them were busy with their thoughts.

Arriving at the house Ega entered first leaving the exhausted Rain locked the heavy gate. Rain walked in with an annoyed face and then locked the door. It looks Ega sitting on the living room sofa leaning his head on the chair with his eyes closed. Rain glanced at him briefly and passed. However, his hand is pulled by Ega to make Rain lose control and fall on Ega's lap. Ega still closed her eyes as Rain's face was very close to her.

"Mas, what the hell?" Rain tried to stand up but Ega held him back with all her might.

"Why? Don't you kiss me a lot when I'm sleeping?" He spoke without opening his eyes.

"You're bad, Mas. You are just like me. You are good for a while and then you are back. My fault if I'm Zein's mother's son? I've always loved you sincerely. I sacrificed my youth to be your wife. You forget, who used to force our marriage. I'm hanging my happiness on you and it's my payoff, Mom?" Rain seemed to let out all the uneg-unig in his heart that had been restrained all along. Her tears broke, as much as possible crying without a sound so that Aunt would not know.

Ega corrected her sitting position and kept Rain on her lap. Ega pulled Rain's face back to face him. He cupped his wife's two tiny cheeks and wiped away her tears.

"I promise after this will fix everything soon" Ega stared in Rain's eyeballs.

"Don't promise me anything again. Hoping on you will only make me more disappointed. For what Mas promised if in the end it remains the grudge that Mas prioritizes" Rain lowered his head to avoid that gaze.

Ega pulled Rain into his arms. Rain did not refuse but also did not reply. He just needs a backrest for his place to cry.
