18 Make a Date

"What's? Boss Aiden says you look ordinary?" Loretha asked in a tone of disbelief.

While Rania who was sipping milkshakes could only nod her head. He and Loretha were sitting chatting in a fast food diner at one of the malls.

"Aiden's boss's eyes seem to need to be examined or maybe he is.." Loretha suddenly smiled as she glanced at Rania.

"Maybe what?" Rania asked waiting for the continuation of Loretha's words.

The woman who dyed her hair in blonde color was leaning over with lips that kept smiling. 

"Maybe she's in love with you but it's prestige to say that it's so pretty" whispered Loretha.

Rania frowned looking less in agreement with Loretha's guess. Because from what Rania saw, Aiden's attitude did not change at all towards her.

The big boss was still cold. Even since Rania changed her appearance, Aiden was even more fierce, her eyes getting sharper looking at Rania. It was as if he wanted to eat Rania alive.

Rania shuddered in horror as she re-imagined the look in Aiden's eyes. Then he shook his head at Loretha and sipped another milkshake.

"No way, ah. Which boss Aiden might fall in love with me. There's just you."

Loretha chuckles. The two of them continued to walk around the mall to find office clothes to support Rania's new appearance.

Loretha pulled out one by one the clothes that were hanging, taking and stretching out high. Then return to the original place when it was not suitable for Rania.

Loretha again looking for a work suit that fits Rania's character. Until finally, no matter how many hours they spent, the pile of clothes that Loretha had chosen was already mountainous.

"Oh yeah, Lo. I want to ask you something" Rania said as Loretha was picking a blazer for Rania.

Loretha pulled the navy blazer and then attached it to Rania's body to make sure it fit or not.

"Ask me!"

"If you may know, what made you break with Abc?"

Loretha replied, suddenly a voice called out to Rania and made the two shopping women turn their faces away.

Loretha and Rania turned their heads towards Carlos who was already standing not far away from them while lowering his sunglasses. The man glared at Rania with a look of disbelief.

"I don't think we'll see each other again here. Can we be a match?"

Rania did not respond. He turned his head quickly to Loretha and pulled the arm of his friend to leave immediately, "Lo, I think spending is enough."

But Loretha insisted on not leaving where she stood. He was still observing Carlos, then looking at Rania in turn.

"Wait a minute! You know Rania?" loretha asked Carlos.

"of course. Oh by the way, have you guys eaten, ladies? How about we have dinner together?"

"No, thank you. We're already hungry. Uh, that means we're full" said Rania quickly who tried to pull Loretha's arm. "Come, Lo."

"Wait, wait," Loretha smiled. He again pointed at Carlos with a meaningful smile. "Master took Rania to dinner? But unfortunately Rania is the type of woman who does not like to be invited to dinner to ordinary places. Especially by a random guy."

Rania pinched Loretha and brought her face closer to her best friend's earlobe to whisper, "Lo, what are you doing?"

Hearing Loretha's words, Carlos simply raised an eyebrow.

"Rania only wants to eat at the best fine dining restaurant in the city, sir," said Loretha who immediately complained because again Rania pinched her arm.

Loretha glanced at Rania and she instead smiled when she saw her best friend who was now frowning. It was as if he was telling Rania to calm down and follow this man's game.

However, Rania shook her head quickly and said to Carlos, "Don't listen to my friend, sir. We'll take care of it."

Soon Rania pulls Loretha away from Carlos. He did not care for Loretha who kept complaining because of her hand being pulled.

Rania quickly goes to the cashier's desk to pay but Loretha instead waves at Carlos and makes the man approach Rania.

Carlos put a black card on the cashier table when the waiter mentioned the nominal Rania groceries. Instantly, Rania pushed Carlos' hand.

"No need. I can pay for it myself" Rania said firmly.

Loretha who saw that also deliberately cleared her throat loudly. "It's not good to refuse sustenance, Rania. Just accept it."

"Friends're right. I just want to have good intentions of paying for all your groceries. Even if you still want to buy something, just buy it."

Carlos insisted on giving the waiter a black card. While behind Rania's back, Loretha clapped her hands softly.

"I'll replace your money, sir," said Rania.

"no need. Instead, have dinner with me."

"Agreed," not Rania who answered but Loretha. "Tomorrow night Rania will have dinner with you. Isn't that right, Rania?"

Carlos smiled broadly, "Good. Tomorrow night."

Rania picked up a paper bag containing her groceries, not forgetting to thank her before finally pulling Loretha's hand. They both walked quickly to the car park.

Along the way, Rania complains to Loretha who seems to be deliberately close to Carlos.

While Loretha who was driving a car only responded to Rania's complaint casually.

"Oh, come on, Rania. You said you forgot about Aiden," Loretha turned to Rania and blinked one eye.

Rania who saw Loretha's behavior could only shake her head. He could not believe that Loretha used to be a geeky girl.

Rania sighed and folded her hands in front of her chest. He chose to look out the window.

"You're going to have dinner with him, right?" Loretha asked after a long while they were silent to each other.

Rania thought for a moment. Then he nodded his head. "But you have to answer my question. Why did you cut ties with Abe?"

"Abe is the same man as Aiden," Loretha replied briefly.

Rania frowned in confusion. He did not understand what Loretha meant.

"You mean, Abe kissed you but a few hours later he said he didn't love you, did he?"

"Much more or less the same as that," Loretha briefly turned to Rania then forced to smile. "One day after we got together, I saw Abe join hands with another woman."
