Devan walked down the hospital corridor after getting off his luxury vehicle. Every eye there looked in admiration The handsome man wrapped in his expensive work clothes.
This morning Devan left Lovi who was still asleep to go to his office to attend an important meeting with his Relatives. Leaving her warm kiss on the woman's forehead, Devan steadied her heart to leave Lovi for a while.
The sickly bead met face to face with Ferro who sat with the body guards he ordered to guard Lovi from the outside.
"Master," Greet them as they rise from their position.
"How is he doing? Nothing bad happened, right?" Ferro raised the corner of his lips as he looked at Devan who looked panicked himself. Did Devan just worry about his wife?
"The doctor wants to talk to you,"
"When can I see him?"
"Night when Miss Lovi gets back in check,"
Satisfied with Ferro's explanation, without saying anything Devan entered the large room. His eyes looked at the figure of Lovi who was reading a book with his hands still on the infusion.
Lovi's attitude lately really sucks. Something that Devan prohibited even did openly.
Lovi painstakingly wanted to put the thick book on the nightstand next to his ward. It's a book owned by the hospital that is actually not important to read but because Lovi is too tired of being alone without any activities he does, but because Lovi is too bored, so he decided to open a book that contains many things about health.
Seeing Lovi's hand that had difficulty reaching the nightstand, Devan immediately took over the book and then kept it out of the reach of the book-mad woman.
Seeing her husband who walked away to the sofa while holding the book she had read, made Lovi confused.
"Put it here, sir. I'd like to read it again later,"
"Where are there humans like you? Being in a state of pain but still reading," grumbled the man then put it in a desk drawer facing the sofa where he used to rest since Lovi's condition improved.
"Sir..." Lovi who was about to protest immediately closed his mouth when he saw Devan turned with sharp eyes as if he did not want to be denied.
"You read that out of boredom, don't you?"
Without thinking, the woman in the blue shirt immediately nodded.
"Yes, I can't do anything right now" he murmured.
Lovi, who had not dared to look at her husband, now raised her face when she saw him, The man walked to the corner of the room to take a wheelchair and returned near Lovi.
"Where do you want to go today?"
Lovi frowned confused by Devan's question. His forehead creased deeply, before asking,
"I don't want to go anywhere, sir."
Lovi's answer certainly made Devan chuckle inwardly. He looked at his wife inside.
"Related?" A slanted smile was present on his face when he saw the doubt clearly drawn from his wife's eyes.
Lovi nodded with certainty. He just needs to rest. If there was a Devan he would not feel boredom different from earlier. Until finally he spent his time reading books and then neglected his lunch break.
"But I'm tired of being here,"
Without warning the handsome man grabbed his wife in a sling and then carefully lowered her on a wheelchair.
"Sir, I don't want to go anywhere. I just want to rest," Lovi raised her head so that she could stare at Devan who was lowered above her head.
"Who told you to read a book? You should've taken a break instead of reading a book for hours,"
Devan starts pushing Lovi's wheelchair. Stop the debate. She is worried that she cannot control her emotions which will hurt Lovi again.
Cafe bells clinking indicate that there are guests entering. A few eyes stared at Devan who led his wife into the hospital cafe.
The atmosphere was quite crowded making Lovi uncomfortable. Moreover, looking at those gazes that seemed to judge him low.
Devan is still looking for an empty place for them. He pushed softly on Lovi's face which returned a look around him sadly.
"Why see them?" Devan said as he snorted. Confused by the habit of women who always hurt themselves by putting all forms of attitudes of others into the heart.
Devan's focus was shifted to the empty seat by the window. It was not too crowded and disturbing.
"Make me a Cappuccino latte,"
One of the waiters on duty that afternoon bowed respectfully to the owner of the hospital who was visiting the cafe with an unknown woman.
His gaze turned to Lovi who had been silent earlier .
"Miss..."
Not yet had the girl asked about Lovi's order, Devan immediately stopped his speech.
"My wife can't drink that,"
Devan says it while staring in his wife's clear bead. And that made the waiter smile.
Lovi looked at the back of the waiter who had already moved away. Hearing her sentence made Lovi smile bitterly. There was not the slightest harmony that occurred in her marriage. Devan is too good at covering it up.
"I'm looking for you in Lovi's room but your bodyguard says you're out for a walk,"
Devan turned his head as his shoulders patted someone from behind. He immediately hinted Deni to join him and Lovi who had just been shrouded with inertia.
Lovi smiled as Deni greeted her. He hadn't seen that man in a long time.
"How are you doing?"
Devan pecked his cigarette to be smoked then exhaled his smoke into the air.
"It's better, sir,"
One eyebrow Devan swooped. His eyes glanced at Deni who was laughing lightly. Lovi looks more open to others than Devan.
"Don't call me Sir. I'm not a parent" Deni said.
I don't know why Devan felt that it was a form of satire for him.
"So you mean I'm old?"
Deni smiled cynically at his sidekick.
"I think it's a call for parents. I'm not talking about you. But if you're self-conscious, that's good,"
Geraham Devan. He looked at his friend sharply. Deni ruined his mood this time. Seeing Lovi who looks happy with his arrival alone has made Devan desire to kick the man right now.
"I'm confused anyway. Since when does the wife call her husband sir. I think you're the only one making the rules, like that,"
"It's not wrong for me to say you're a madman" he continued.
Devan thought that the presence of Deni could eliminate the awkward atmosphere that enveloped him and Lovi. But it turns out that the existence of Deni here actually makes it dead fleas.
The waiter came to serve two cups of coffee and milk on the table. Deni happily drank the milk first than he ordered it, Devan.
"Hey! It's not yours, damn it!"
Devan curses his annoyance when he sees the drink that should belong to Lovi now only stay half a glass because Deni who sipped it quickly.
Deni clenched his mouth with eyes glancing at Devan before replying,
"That's not a drink for me?"
With no feeling Lovi's husband pushed Deni's head pretty hard. He was too upset by Deni's habits like that. Take any food or drink that is nearby without asking first.
"I'll order again" Devan told Lovi and Deni only realized his mistake now. Devan should be that angry with her.
"So that's for you, Lovi?"
Deni asked with an expression like a fool rubbing his nape. She is uncomfortable with Lovi.
"No problem. I also don't like the drink for now, either" Lovi replied calming the restless-looking Deni. Deni feels guilty for Lovi.
Devan squeaks inside. I don't understand Lovi's words.
"you mean? You don't like milk?"
Lovi shakes her head at her husband. Then explain something that has become a habit lately so that Devan does not misunderstand.
"I'll get sick if I drink it,"
In silence Devan digested it all. He knows nothing about Lovi and his son. All this time he was busy with his own world, Elea and her work.
"Why nausea? Don't you get pregnant, Lovi?"
Lovi massaged his forehead slowly. Lovi forgets that Deni has not heard the news. Maybe Devan doesn't want to say it either. Remembering that kid wasn't his wish?
"She's pregnant, though,"
Deni's eyes were round and immediately exclaimed with vigor,
"Why didn't you tell me? Intentionally cover it up because you're embarrassed?"
Lovi immediately looked at her husband to see the reaction Devan would show. Deni's question represented him very much at this moment.
Strictly Devan answered the question that disturbed his mind.
"How could I be ashamed? I just want to protect them,"
