“Assalamu’allaikum.” Zahra and I entered the room while the other children were busy watching Korean dramas on their laptops.
“Wa’allaikumsalam,” answered them in unison without turning towards us. They are still watching the Korean drama The Penthouses season 2.
Each santri room in this pesantren is usually filled by 10 people, but there are also rooms that are only 9 people because of the odd number of students in a class. This year I roomed with Zahra, Najwa, Aidha, Iffah, Nisa, Dilla, Syilla, Naila and Aninda like last year because indeed this year there is no room change. In addition to the room, we are also in class because indeed each class is usually divided into 4 rooms. Because our room was assigned to be the stewardship of the santri madrasah ibtida’iyah dormitory, then we did not live in santri nisa madrasah aliyah dormitory but in the dormitory where we served, so too with those who served in other dormitories.
After performing the prayer isya berjama’ah with Zahra, I who was still wearing a mukena immediately grabbed sitting among my friends who were still with serious faces watching every scene of the drama that made this explosive emotion.
“That's really evil, I ama Zahra has already missed a long way to watch it,” my grumbling while mempause this drama show.
Zahra also protested against the room children who left us, but we went to the store to buy cleaning tools for the room. How they left us. Actually it could have been me and Zahra watching with our respective laptops, but watching will be more exciting if crowded and it has become a tradition here.
“Maap deh, Cell. We were waiting for you but you guys were so long ago so we go first. But this is also just starting, Cell,” Najwa explained.
“Iya really, Cell, Ra. And if later you guys do not understand the story directly ask us deh,” Syilla said added.
“Hmmmm.” With a slightly irritated face, I pressed the space button back.
After we had 3 episodes tonight, we finally decided to sleep because the clock has shown at 22:00 WIB. Indeed, this is not too late for the audience drakor because if it is already curious about the contents of the story in the film, santri can stay up until dawn just to watch drakor. However, it is definitely not a good deed so as much as possible for us to avoid.
Santri is required to sleep at 21:00 and at the latest is 22:00. If you have entered the clock then the room lights must be turned off, if not, then the ustadzah or 12th class students who will continue to commemorate the room. So, usually the students who watch drakor until staying up, they will turn off the lights and when the ustadzah or 12th grade sister is no longer in front of the room, he said, they will continue with the condition of the room lights out. This includes bad things because it violates the rules and hurts yourself because the body that should have been rested is still forced.
Although my friends and I could have slept at this hour, but we are already in 12th grade, it is time for us to prepare after graduating from here. There is no way we are constantly wasting our time on less important things. Watching is important to me because it gives me knowledge and entertainment. But I should as much as possible direct entertainment as needed.

At 06:30, my roommates and I walked to school and we were sitting on the 1st floor. We watched the younger class who was running to school because the discipline part of the 12th grade santri had counted and if at the last count found the santri who had not reached school, then he would get a punishment.
“Ke class yuk!” take Aidha to us who are still sitting sweetly to see the late class sister.
Being late is normal here. All the majority of students have felt the punishment, whether it is because it is too late or something else. Even so, every santri still try as much as possible so as not to be late or break the rules.
“Iya, yuk ah to class. Sleepy nih.” Iffah stood up after Aidha who was followed by me and the rest of my friends.
We climbed ten steps and headed for our 2-floor classroom.
Zahra pinched Ifffah's arm. “Although sleepy, but do not sleep you know, Fah. You promised to study this morning.”
Iffah was in pain and tried to reply to Zahra's pinch. “Sick tofu, Ra. Bad guy, it must be red. Tar aja learn it if it is not sleepy, Ra.”
Iffah is the laziest if we invite to study, he always reasoned sleepy, tired, not mood, and so forth. Even so, we still force him to study because however he actually needs encouragement from friends even with a little coercion because this year is not the time to relax again, we have to prepare for graduation exams and college entrance.
“Btw, don't forget you guys ngafalin Aqidatul Awwam. Kan today there are lessons and mandatory memorization deposit,” Syilla said reminded.
“Oiya, profit dyingetin.”
“Iya, almost this morning want to sleep even though I just hafalin a little doang.”
“Assalamu’allaikum.” We go into class and put our shoes on a shelf that is at the back of the class.
Suddenly Vira came up to me after I landed my body on the chair. “Finally came too, Cell. I've been waiting for you since, because I want to talk to you.”
“What chat, Vir? Tumben to my class?”
Vira sat in Aidha's chair because Aidha went straight to Ijtima with her organization in the middle corridor when she arrived at the class.
“You will be the same deck Andra from the beginning enter here tuh. I want to ask you a question about Andra can not?” vira said with sparkling eyes and a smile that did not come off even a little since.
I looked at him confused. Because, me and Vira have not chatted anymore for a long time, only greet each other if they meet. This Vira is a friend of a group of my tahfidz in tenth grade and I know she did like Andra a long time ago even though every time I asked her she always dodged firmly, firmly, though I intend to introduce him if he likes Andra at that time. However, there was a wind of what day he came to me just to ask about Andra so enthusiastically. Does he like Andra now?
I'm nodding. “What's it, Vir? But I answered to my knowledge. I don't know much about Andra.”
“OK, Cell. Em, Andra that's kind of wayward. Ceritain dong bandelnya Andra how aja and how the attitude he fitting you know if he was stubborn at that time?”
Actually, I really want to refuse to tell you about Andra to Vira because it discusses the delinquency of Andra as well, I do not want to tell the mischief of others. But, maybe Vira had other intentions and I was confused how to refuse her worried about making Vira offended. In fact, I had intended to repeat the memorization of Aqidatul Awwam this morning and luckily I have memorized enough so God willing I can for memorization deposit today even though I have not had time to repeat it.

I went to school this morning a bit bad. Lina and I walked with accelerated footsteps in fear of being late. When passing through the T-junction, I briefly saw 3 santri rijal who walked to the cafeteria, but now my watch has shown at 06.40 which means soon the gate will be closed.
If the santri I saw was my upperclassman I'd be normal because upperclassmen wouldn't get punished if it was too late. However, if I don't see it wrong, one of the 3 santri rijal was Andra and even she was wearing gray pants. It is clear that today's uniform is black and white and can be so confident that Andra goes to the cafeteria at this hour with gray pants.
I don't want to think badly of Andra, so I might have seen it wrong. I can't be sure if he's Andra or not because the streets are covered by the crowds of the students.
I immediately lay my head on the table and prepare to go to bed upon arrival in class. The first two weeks I was a santri, I never got a little sleepy in class even when the teacher whose voice made the whole class fall asleep I still did not sleepy. However, as I entered the third week, I was completely unable to endure my sleepiness when I arrived at the classroom. Yes, today is the third week I became a santri in 10th grade.
“Assallamu’allaikum.”
There was a sound of someone saying greetings and the faces of some santri rijal on the door of my class. Where there might be santri rijal in santri nisa's class, I ended up continuing my sleep because I thought it was just a dream. However, classes were crowded which left me aghast.
“Kok can there be guys, Na?” ask me to Rina-a friend of my age who has always been with me everywhere.
“It looks like they were punished by an upperclassman deh.”
“Oh.” I immediately put my head back on the table without caring about some of the santri rijal that is now being bullied by my classmates at the door.
“OK. Introduce, we are from class 10-IIS-A-05. Here we want to promise that we will not be late leaving for school again.”
I immediately lifted my head from the table after hearing the words earlier and the crowd of the whole class by cheers for them. Even though I'm a new kid here and it seems like santri rijal doesn't know me very much, I still have to be ashamed of them. I can't fall asleep in front of them and my desk is in the front row that doesn't allow me to fall asleep right now.
I was flabbergasted not to play when I found one of the santri rijal in front of me was Andra. The person I was looking at right now was as astonished as I was, as if he was surprised to see me in this class.
“It turns out the guy who wore gray pants this morning was actually Andra?” ask myself after seeing Andra wearing gray pants too.
“Well, we intend to request a structural signature in this class as proof that we have apologized in this class. This is an order from 12th class discipline to us, thanks.”
“Kalo don't want how?” my class leader said, followed by laughter and cheers from the rest of the class.
The three santri were pushing each other to get out of this tiger cage for him. They try to keep looking cool even though they seem to be holding back embarrassment.
“That's the most right, acquaintance dong. Very handsome,” cried Fatimah.
“Yes, what's his name hey?”
“For number wa dong!"
The whole class started flirting with them. And the santri on the right that my friends mean is Andra. Yes, it is inevitable that Andra has a handsome face. Even when I first saw her I admitted that she was really cute and would definitely be the target of santri nisa.
Strutural class I still do not want to sign them easily because so they do not repeat their mistakes again so we want to harden their punishment. We asked them to sing some English songs in our class.
Since there is no other choice, be prepared. Finally they sang to her memory and with a slightly lowered face in embarrassment that was accompanied by a cheerful laugh from the rest of the class. I watched Andra, as if she was really embarrassed. I know for a fact that Andra should have been immune to something like this because she had been punished a lot since Junior High, but somehow she looked very nervous.
Kinggg!!
The sound of the bell that the lesson hour is about to begin has rung.
“Yeah, I'm already in. I still want to know the story.”
“Why do you suddenly want to know so far, Vir?” I asked Vira.
With a smile, Vira answered my question. “Because now I deserve to know all about Andra.” Vira immediately walked out of the classroom with her happy face.
“What does Vira mean? Why is he entitled? Did he marry Andra?”
I wondered what Vira's words and attitude were. “What are they dating? Astagfirullah, do not Su’udzan.”
