Chapter 32: Clark and Janu's Friendship

"How do I get him to be put to death?" ask Janu.

"He must commit a crime that is considered more heinous."

"For example?"

"Serial killings or sadistic killing of police. Usually won't get away."

Janu. He recalled the time Dimitri forced him to shoot someone.

Flashbacks

"Come, Janu, get the gun. You have to shoot right in the middle of your head. He's going to die, for sure" Dimitri said as he thrust his gun.

Janu's body shook. He was terrified to see the person tied to the chair whimpering and begging not to be killed.

"Why? You will get used to seeing things like this. He betrayed us by leaking information to the police. He deserves to die, Janu ...."

Dimitri continued to persuade the 17-year-old to kill his traitorous men. He believed Janu could be his successor because Silvia forbade him from touching Kenzo.

"In this world, if we don't kill, then we will be killed" Dimitri whispered. "Or do you want me to kill you?" whispered again.

Frightened, Janu finally took the gun out of Dimitri's hand. He pointed the gun at the person in front of him.

"Come, shoot, Janu ...," Dimitri said with a grin.

There was a loud gunshot that filled the room. Janu opened his eyes. He saw his shot hit the guy.

His body shook violently. His knees were unable to hold his body. The gun in his hand came off. He sat on the floor screaming loudly. Janu was crying in fear.

Dimitri smiled happily. He patted Janu's back proudly. "Great. You've become a killer, Janu. I'm proud of you."

Dimitri's remarks further distressed Janu. He felt guilty for killing people and could not be forgiven.

Flash back off

"Hey, are you daydreaming?" scold that guy.

Instantly Janu awakens from his daydream. "Can you keep him here longer? If you can, don't let him out of jail."

The man chuckled. "You've only got insider acquaintances like me. I'm sure your father has one too. I can't help that far, just keep an eye on her."

Clack smiled. "I'm a cop, how can you tell me to be a criminal?"

"Then why didn't you catch me?" ask Janu.

Clark remained silent. He remembered the story of the past that brought him close to Janu.

As a teenager, Clark was kidnapped by Dimitri's men because his parents were unable to pay off debts owed to leeches. It was supposed to be his kidney that Dimitri took. However, Janu foils the plan.

Janu feels sorry to see an innocent child like Clark being targeted by Dimitri. He helps release Clark and tells him to go as far as possible. The enraged Dimitri finally makes Janu a replacement. Janu had to lose one of his kidneys as a consequence of helping others.

During his escape, Clark was admitted to an orphanage. He was able to continue his education well and eventually became a policeman. During his life, he never forgot the kindness Janu had done to him.

Clark was reunited with Janu when he was transferred to the region two years ago. The reason why Dimitri this time could be caught there was also a hand from Janu who provided the information.

"I wish you could live your life happily and leave the world like that" Clark said. "But, I know speech is not as easy as action. While I will close my eyes with your actions," he said.

"Help me secure the smuggling this time, Clark. I promise this is the last one. I'll destroy Dimitri and his group" Janu said.

He really has not been able to get out of the mafia circle created by Dimitri. Dimitri's men out there are very obedient and can be controlled even though the leader is in prison.

Clark looked to breath. As someone who seeks to serve the country, Janu's request goes against his conscience.

"You're enough to make sure my plan goes smoothly. After that, I don't care if you're going to snatch their stuff.

"Yes, I get it. Do what you think is best."

Janu nodded. "I'll go first."

After their conversation ended, the two separated. Janu continues on his way to the headquarters that used to be used as a meeting place by his father's mafia group. He comes accompanied by Finn.

Janu shows the ring Dimitri gave him. The ring became a sign that he was believed to be a substitute during Dimitri's time in prison.

Most of Dimitri's men can still accept Janu as a replacement. However, there was one Dimitri's men whose taste was very difficult to influence. His name is Bull, his body is big and stocky. He was Dimitri's loyal bodyguard. Janu thought of a plan to get rid of the man so as not to interfere with his plan.
