Chapters. 22 - Meeting and Farewell

”You two are fine?” yi Chen asked who had just arrived at the place after he felt the cold air coming from this place.

”Third prince! We're doing just fine. But, earlier in this place there were two people who started the fight and disappeared here.” Tao Sonyun replied as he gazed towards Yi Chen who came down from on his horse.

”Then, what about Princess Qingzhi? Are you really okay?” yi Chen asked as he walked over to Shu Qingzhi who continued to be silent overcast while staring at the ground.

Feeling that Shu Qingzhi did not hear him, Yi Chen tried to pat him on the shoulder slowly and that, making Shu Qingzhi gasp in shock upon feeling it. His gaze immediately led to Yi Chen who looked anxious. ”... You okay, Princess Qingzhi?” ask Yi Chen.

Shu Qingzhi was silent for a while and nodded his head as if to say that he was fine at the moment. However, it was only visible on his face and not as it was said in his mind. In silence he was also worried about Shangguan Wei who was not far from this place. As Yi Chen spoke to Tao Sonyun, Shu Qingzhi turned his head towards the forest that had the ground shaking.

No need to wait a long time, he immediately followed the sound of vibration and made Yi Chen and Tao Sonyun look very surprised. ”... What's wrong with her? Where is he going?” yi Chen asked who kept looking at him from behind.

”On that, Princess Qingzhi was worried about the man who defended her earlier. I told you that before, there was a fight going on here. However, both were lost when the third Prince came here.” explained Tao Sonyun.

Yi Chen looked at her in surprise and asked her, ”What do you mean? They left as soon as I came here? That fast?”

Tao Sonyun looked back and asked, ”What are you guys doing here?”

Shangguan Wei was silent for a moment. Before long, he slowly raised his head and his lips formed an arch of a sinister smile towards him. ”.... How could I give up? Hearing this made Zhongyuan feel extremely angry. He hardened his fist and looked towards Shangguan Wei with eyes that were so sick of seeing him. ”... You don't want to kill me then, I'm the one who will kill you!” Zhongyuan shouted after that, hundreds of sharp tree roots instantly shot towards Shangguan Wei without hesitation.

He thought that Shangguan Wei would do what he had said earlier. However, his guess was wrong when he saw an ice spear that directly pierced hundreds of tree roots and froze them in an instant. After that, they all fell down and were smashed to pieces.

Zhongyuan looked extremely shocked and his steps slowly moved back away from him. He felt an extremely unusual force surge out from within Shangguan Wei's body. Shangguan Wei stared coldly at Zhongyuan with the gaze of his eyes which had a blazing blue color like within the sea. While forming his sword from an ice that will not melt while in his hand, he said , ”I'm tired of playing! If you want a fight to the death, I'll do it!”

Then, just as he was about to attack him, suddenly an arrow appeared that was thrown towards him from behind. That, made Shangguan Wei delay his time and immediately dismissed the attack whose origin was unknown to him.

”Wah, wow, wow. His Majesty the Dragon King already dares to fight with his own army?” said a woman with small bells ringing on both her legs.

It was clearly behind her that there was currently a red-haired woman wearing a black hanfu suit. His eyeballs emitted a fiery red color like blood and on both hands was currently an arrow and a horsetail whip. It has a big horn on its head. Moreover, it also exuded an enormous charm that almost matched it.

”Princess Qingzhi! Stop!” yi Chen exclaimed as he ran on his horse to approach Shu Qingzhi who was clearly visible in front of him.

”Princess Qingzhi! Why did you run away?! You're trying to go after the man you said you were?” yi Chen asked who directly descended from on his horse and touched both of Shu Qingzhi's shoulders.

”Do not block me!” shu Qingzhi shouted that instantly broke away from Yi Chen's grip.

However, that did not stop Yi Chen. He kept running towards Shu Qingzhi and stopped his steps for the second time. ”... Princess Qingzhi! Didn't you hear me?! Go back to the Palace and forget about today!” snapped it.

Shu Qingzhi gritted his teeth and said, ”There's maybe I can forget about it!” he said as he pushed Yi Chen to the side. However, as he already could not be affected with words, Yi Chen immediately took quick steps to lift him up on his wide shoulders.

”Release! What are you doing?!” snapped Shu Qingzhi who was trying to release himself.

”There is too dangerous for the Princess. You better just go back or stay here.” Yi Chen replied as he placed Shu Qingzhi on his horse.

”You don't understand too?! I have to find him now!” said Shu Qingzhi who was trying to get down however, Yi Chen kept her in his way.

Yi Chen then fell silent with a look on his face that looked overcast. For a while, he did not dare to look at Shu Qingzhi's current face and was at a loss as to what he should do now. Then, before long, Yi Chen looked back at him with a smile and said, ”We will look for him together. Wherever the Princess is, I must protect her.”

At that very instant, Shu Qingzhi fell silent in confusion. He was surprised to hear his words. Shortly after Yi Chen rode back on his horse, the two walked together towards the growing rumbling sound.

”Do I deserve to do something like this for a Crown Princess?” it was Yi Chen's inner self that kept distracting him from Shu Qingzhi's gaze that kept on looking at him.

”So, what was the relationship of the Princess with the man earlier? Why do you care so much about him?” yi Chen asked who was trying to find a topic of conversation.

Shu Qingzhi was silent for a while and replied, ”He who saved me when I fell off a cliff.”

Yi Chen was surprised and said, ”So, it was he who had saved the Princess? Does that mean the alleged higher-ups were wrong about the Princess who was dead because of the sea currents?”

Shu Qingzhi looked overcast as he replied, ”Sometimes what is said at the moment does not correspond to reality.”

The two fell silent again and said nothing throughout their journey. Meanwhile, at the same time, Shangguan Wei was made to be cornered by the arrival of the death gate guard Queen, Ruo Ying who appeared suddenly. That incident, made Shangguan Wei even more furious. He also forced his current state and gave rise to vengeful souls to defeat those before his eyes. ”... Die down! You all!”
