5. Cannot Avoid

Zahra rested her back on the back of her chair. His mind was full again after getting a call from the receptionist who told him Ega wanted to see Mr. Erwin. That means indirectly he will also meet Ega.

The phone ringing goes off again. Zahra picked him up immediately.

"Hello" said Zahra.

"Sorry Mom, Mr. Ega wants to see you in person, can you?" ask the guy across there.

Zahra silence. He worries. It seems like he can no longer avoid Ega.

"good. Take it to my room" said Zahra with one breath, after which he breathed a rough breath. He should meet her today.

Zahra remained seated in her place waiting for Ega's arrival. From where he sat he could see the elevator door open. Alia came out followed by a man who must have been Ega.

"Excuse me, ma'am," said Alia formally.

However, Zahra remained silent in place without responding. His gaze was fixed on Ega who was beside Alia. Several times Alia called Zahra's name but still there was no answer. Finally, Alia held Zahra's hand on the table. It's cold Zahra's hands.

"Zahra, you gapapa? Your face is a bit pale, your hands are really cold" Alia said worriedly.

Zahra who touched her hand jumped in shock and looked at Alia.

"I'm not papa, you can come back" said Zahra after being able to control his surprise.

"It's okay you call down immediately, yes" Alia said before leaving Zahra and Ega.

After Alia left, there was silence between the two people who had never met for so long. Ega stood in front of Zahra's desk.

"How are you?" the word that Ega spoke after quite a long time of silence happened.

Zahra looked up slightly to look Ega in the eye. There was no sound spoken, but a circle of clear crystals so fiercely shot out from both of Zahra's eyes.

Ega slowly walked to Zahra's side, slightly turning Zahra's chair to face her. He squatted in front of Zahra. Holding both hands of Zahra was so cold.

"I'm sorry, Ra. Sorry," said Ega lirih. Ega placed his head on Zahra's lap and continued to mutter apologies. Zahra's tears don't stop flowing. He sobbed slowly.

"Where are you going?" zahra lirih.

Ega looked up at Zahra's teary face. Ega straightened his body and rested on his knees to align his height with Zahra. He rubbed both of Zahra's cheeks and still muttered an apology.

"I'm sorry, I left you alone" said Ega, hugging Zahra tightly.

"Where?" repeat Zahra without returning Ega's embrace.

Ega stretched out her arms and looked at Zahra's face.

"Will I tell you later after work, will you?" ega Pinta.

Zahra nodded as a sign of approval. Ega hugged her again, but Zahra still did not return the favor. With a heavy heart Ega released her embrace. He stood in front of Zahra.

"I'll pick you up later. I have to go back," said Ega who was only replied with a nod of the head by Zahra. Although reluctant to leave Zahra, but he had to return to his office.

Five o'clock in the afternoon Zahra came out of the office with Syifa. He had told of his meeting with Ega this afternoon at Syifa.

When the two of them came out of the lobby, Ega was talking to one of the security guards. Seeing the arrival of the two of them, Ega immediately approached him.

"To Doni's place" replied Ega. Syifa nodded feeling a little relieved because the place they were going to was at least still within the scope of their friendship. At least there is Doni who can pay attention to the state of Zahra later, thought Syifa.

They split up in the parking lot. Ega immediately opened the car door for Zahra, after which he entered and drove his car to Doni's cafe. During the journey, not a single word came out of their lips.

The ten-minute drive to Doni's cafe was long for them. Ega parked his car and immediately went down to open Zahra's door. Zahra came out without saying anything and stepped inside the cafe followed by Ega who was slightly behind him.

"Good afternoon, please menu, sister," greeted one of the cafe employees by giving a menu book and a small note.

"Reservation on behalf of Ega," said Ega accompanied by he took the menu book given.

"I'll check first" the employee replied.

"Let me drop off" the employee said after viewing the reservation list.

They were escorted to the second floor, where there are some rooms that are provided for people who need privacy. Zahra and Ega entered one of the rooms.

They both sat on the sofa facing each other. Zahra chose a single sofa and Ega sat in front of her. They chose food and drink and were immediately recorded by the employees who delivered them.

"Ra, you want to listen to me now?" tanya Ega started the conversation.

"Yes," replied Zahra flatly.

"You remember, don't you, Ra, I have a little sister who went with my aunt in Singapore?" ask Ega. Zahra nodded in response.

"When we did the last unas mama and papa got word that he had an accident," Ega paused for a moment and noticed Zahra who was surprised.

"Mama and papa took the fastest flight to get there, and I flew there. You recall? At that time I asked Adit for help to take you home," Zahra nodded in light of the incident.

"I hurriedly followed my mother to the airport. I remember when I was in my school uniform. We arrived at the hospital that treated Raissa. But when we got there, Raissa wasn't there, Ra. We were really hit that time. Even mama fainted so many times." Ega was silent for a moment controlling his emotions. Because remembering the incident was a regret that he felt never ending. He felt that he failed to become a sister because he had never been able to take care of his sister.

Zahra was without crying without a sound. He knew how much Ega loved his sister. Only because the younger brother had been taken up by his aunt that from childhood they were separated.

"Raissa was buried in Singapore, and she did not want to return to Indonesia. Mama has been in severe depression since Raissa's death. Every day you come to Raissa's grave, it worries us. Finally, my father decided to settle in Singapore. I spent my days accompanying my mother at Raissa's grave. It happened almost a year. At that time I decided to postpone college in order to take care of my mother," Zahra cried imagining the state of Aunt Nisa, Mama Ega.

"Mama's depression became more and more so and we finally took her to a mental hospital. I was devastated that time. I saw my mother being taken and treated there. By force of my father I continued my studies in Singapore. Every time I go back to college I visit where my mom is being cared for. My mother has not changed for years. Mama often tries to kill herself because she wants to meet Raissa. As long as it's just my mom I think about. I forgot everything in Indonesia. I'm sorry, Ra," said Ega with her own eyes.

"How is Aunt Nisa doing now?" asked Zahra between her sobs.

"Mama, she's happy, maybe now you've met Raissa in heaven."

Zahra closed her mouth to ease her sobs.

"Mama died three months ago. Mom's last message, I have to be happy, so I came back here. Because I believe my happiness is here" said Ega.

"Your mother is also in Makamin in Singapore?" ask Zahra who is still crying.

"Yes my mom was there, close to Raissa," said Ega without hiding her feelings.
